Man I have this synth and love it. I really hope Expressive E make a dedicated midi keyboard….basically an Osmose without the synth. I’d be all over that.
I’d be curious how much that would actually reduce the cost, though. Surely there is some portion going to Haken Audio for the Eagen Matrix, but I would bet the physical hardware is still the bulk of the cost. Look for a used Osmose, I’ve seen them for around $1500, and it’s really nice to have onboard sounds as well!
Hi Jef, this is the video I wanted to see, but I ignored it. The title didn’t catch my eye while I was super busy. For me, adding MPE to the title would have hooked me. As far as Expressive-E I ignored the Synth because I don’t want more noise products, but instead musical products. Well this is very musical, but disguised as though it’s for sound effects. Hmmm … wonder if you could midi map a pedal input and use the pedals to affect individual notes pitch. What I’m driving at is to try and create a virtual Pedal Steel guitar . I have Native instruments pedal steel that I use for live performances, but it does not have Pedal capabilities.
I am considering the purchase of the Expressive E Osmose. I exclusively use the NI Maschine Mk 2 as my DAW. Is it possible to use/record the Osmose with all of its capabilities through Maschine?? I'd like to use it with Noisy 2, Serum, Omnisphere as well as NI sounds. I am worried I will need other gear for me to be able to use Osmose in my setup. Thanks for all of the great videos.
Hi Rich! The Osmose is my favorite piece of gear… hands down! But Maschine 2 can’t do anything with MPE yet. The only thing you could do with it would be to record straight from the Osmose to maschine as audio (I used that method recently on a soundtrack). It works, but no midi editing. As for Noisy 2, you wouldn’t be able to tap into the MPE capabilities, just using it in non MPE mode.
Would this Noisy 2 be a terrible purchase and be a waste if all I will own is the Arturia Keylab Essential 88 Mk3 which you also reviewed? How little of this can I control with the Keylab Essential 88 Mk3? I'm a beginner and don't want splurge on the Osmose yet. Should I skip the Keylab and just save up for the Osmose if I will only have one controller for the next 3 years?
Hey Jef thank you, i am trying to do my whole song on maschine but i don't know how to record with autotune in maschine, it would be great if you could teach us, like the video you did of send Fxs, but for vocals, because i really want to do everything in Maschine but the autotune it's a thing i don't know how to apply effects in real time for my voice

With the Push 3 we’re getting there… just a matter of time. Now we need DAWs to catch up!! Maschine can’t do it and Cubase implementation is weak…
Arturia's newly announced Polybrute 12 has an MPE keybed. Application looks very cool.
