I had the privilege and the total joy of seeing live on stage the one and only John Mellencamp 1987 The Lonesome Jubilee tour in Brisbane. I was 2 seats back from the stage . John's gorgeous wife was dancing left of the stage. I tell you what it was one of the most amazing live sets iI have ever seen and listened to the music was just so alive . Lisa was just amazing playing her fiddle dancing and she was surely having a good time. But I really think the pinnacle of the set was when they played Gloria by Them. John and the band just fuckin nailed it and sent the audience in a frenzy I will never forget it
John performs Gloria along with Richie Sambora, Eddie Van Halen, Sheryl Crow, Mellisa Etheridge, Bryan Adams, Paul Shaffer, and Don Henley October 1996 th-cam.com/video/1PwKo3T2r84/w-d-xo.html
Put all of Neil's songs in a list--from Split Enz to his latest, Out of Silence--and nobody matches it for consistent quality. Not one of his songs sounds remotely like any of his others and that's an astonishing accomplishment.
2023 and this song still sounds so fresh!
Lisa Germano's dancing is the greatest thing ever!
Having great time
GAWD I love her!
She absolutely steals the show on this song, so much joy and her moves completely reflect the music.. Great harmonies all over the place too..

He's a genius, Neil Finn.
Bass playing is phenomenal
Listen for the repeated low piano note toward the end. Brilliant.
Sounds like an unanswered ring tone.
Yes! Genius musical moment
Great performance.
Sebastian Steinberg laying down bass that could pull a truck stuck in the mud.

This is my favorite version of Neil Finn’s greatest (post Crowded House) song. this is not up for discussion ;)
