I was in attendance at the Ryman Auditorium when they sang without microphones or lighting. The friend with m turn to me when they were don and said “I think I just had a religious experience”. I was something I will never forget the feeling.
Thank you, Lori, for the suggestion! It’s my favorite to just listen to. Nick, I applaud your research and knowledge of the many groups from CSN era. An excellent choice today.
There just isn't much to say about this. So good harmonies, so well sung! So different voices, but still one. So short but o so powerful I'm so glad I finally got to see HF live in the Netherlands. It was really that great! Even better than I thought. The first time but certainly not the last.
Nick, this a work of art from true vocal artists. Some folks dismiss them as country bumpkins, but this vocal 5 part harmony at it's finest. This was the brainchild of Chance, the bands baritone & occasional bass (when Tim is singing a higher part). Thanks for reacting to this Nick
I love Home Free and CSN, esp Steven Stills who is to me the best of all time, but for masters of harmony please also listen to The Mamas and the Papas from the 1960's. Monday Monday, This is Dedicated To The One l Love, California Dreamin' etc. John Phillips, the band's leader and husband of Michelle, is also one of the few who understood and mastered this complicated and beautiful genre of music. All so good!
As someone has pointed out below, these incredible musicians have sung this off mic at live show. There is a video of it but it gets lost among all the random stuff from concerts. The live off mic version is not conducted in any way, except to set the timing of the very last section, but it sounds just as tight and clean as in this MV.
Home Fries holidays are always top notch! Go back to one of the first ones 7 Bridges Rd.!! Also listen to bless the broken road! They never disappoint you whether it’s serious or soy! Great reaction!!
If you like the classics, you really should check out their collaboration with Don MacLean - American Pie or their cover of The Doobie Brothers - Listen to the Music.
I grew up listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash & had their album with this song Helplessly Hoping. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. This song is full of alliterations. Home Free more than does justice to all the songs they cover. And this song is perfection to me with the 5 part harmonies. A true masterpiece! I can't say enough about how great these guys are & humble while still staying respectful to the original song.
AMAZING PRECISION!! An exquisite 5-part harmony masterpiece!!! Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Chance came up with the concept and direction for this video. As you said, it focuses on their beautiful harmonies, something that is easier for them since they have been singing together for years. This song is also one of the few they have done off mic at concerts, as well as How Great Thou Art, and Auld Lang Syne.
I went to a Home Free gig on Saturday in Manchester, England. They were awesome and sound as good live. They said we were at a party, not a concert and it was. Great vibe. Brilliant! ❤
Eagles had some pretty good harmonies too. This is one of my favorite Home Free covers. If you're looking for covers of classics - take a look at their cover of the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music"
The scary thing is.. they just make it look so EASY!!!!!!!!! By now you know their range and capabilities. Such a modest group which for me goes along way.... RESPECT!!!!!!! PEACE
If you liked this, you may want to check out Home Free's rendition of "How Great Thou Art". With the backdrop of the Austrian Alps, and the pure 5-part harmonies of these fine gents, whether you're religious or not, I think you'll be moved regardless. I love watching your reactions! You *feel* the music.
It would be hard to add anything to your summation of both CSN and Home Free. This is one of HF's masterpieces, one that proves beyond any doubt that these five men are virtuosos -- five individually beautiful voices blending into one perfect instrument. Thank you for understanding real talent. This reaction has started my day, my week, on a high.
Thank you Lori for suggesting this one and thank you Nick for a wonderful reaction. This song is an example of why we Home Fries love Home Free so much. They can do goofy like All About That Bass and Butts Remix and they can bring you to tears with their beautiful 5 part harmonies in this, Brothers in Arms and Auld Lang Syne to name a few and everything in between all to vocal perfection! Thank you for appreciating their vocal skills. Have a great day! I know mine can only be great after starting my day with is. 😀❤️
Yes, this is one of my favorite Home Free covers, I get goosebumps *every* time I listen to it (and have heard it many, many times). Love your reaction.
I cried the first time I heard this. It was so beautiful. I'm glad you are enjoying them. Many of us fell in love with their voices and talent and then as we watched the videos like ( From the Vault) that showed behind the scenes as well as the Away From Home and concert funnies, we saw how funny, humble, hard working, loving and kind they are they started to feel like family. Thank you for reacting to Home Free.
I'm a big 70's southern rock fan, and they really do "Seven Bridges Road" justice. They also do an "Alabama Sampler," "Listen To The Music" from the Doobie Brothers. I really wish they did more of that erra and genera.
Chance directed this video. I think the black & white filming accentuates the starkness of this rendition of the song. As always, the singing & harmonies are terrific - but no beatboxing. It's a master class in acapella. I find it amazing that they could sing in perfect sync regardless of their disparate regional accents (3 are from the deep south, 2 from Minnesota). Thanks for playing this & your comments.
They just have the special knack of being able to take a song you love and make you love it all over again. I saw CSN&Y back in the day with the Beach Boys, and another band I can't ever remember as opener and I think they would like what they did. Enjoy
Home Free’s library of songs/productions both covers and originals and include a vast array of genres has become incredible. It is just plain fun to review and realize their gifts and talents are over the top extraordinary. This group can simply stand tall amongst the industry vocalist peers (groups and gifted vocalists). They bring about an excitement intrigue wondering what they will produce for us today, near future and the years to come. They are not bound by a particular genre and whatever they produce you know it is going to be quality. Home Free produces at a high level of integrity and always amazing the interpretation both vocally and visually with their video presentation. Every individual in their vocal group is significant top-notch performer and each draws out the very best in each other. I always look with anticipation to their next release. Thank you Home Free!!! ❣ Thank you for reacting to this awesome presentation!!
I've seen this cover described as a master class in harmonies, and I'm not at all schooled in music but that sounds about right to me. They sing it so beautifully that the chills are instant and continuous. Great reaction!
This is so beautiful and almost haunting, I am so enchanted when I hear it! It’s also one of the few times that Adam gets to sing since there is no beat boxing in this one! Their harmonies are so amazing!❤❤🔥🔥 Glad you loved it too! Looking forward to more!👍👍
Home Free is so good. This is one of my favorites. They are known for their harmonies and this is stunning. My only complaint? It’s too short. Chance brought this idea to the boys and he directed it. Other favorites - I Can’t Outrun You, Seven Bridges Road, Auld Lang Syne, What We Ain’t Got, In the Blood, Die a Happy Man. Love them! Great reaction Nick!😍
Music is a universal language. It translates even if the song is in another language. It is so powerful! My Dad was a big, macho, type A personality! But play him music with beautiful harmonies, he would blubber like a baby! Home Free was one of his favorite groups, and they are also one of my favorite groups over all genres! Thanks for appreciating their talent with your reactions. ❤
Thank you for such terrific reactions to Home Free. I just found your reactions this afternoon and really enjoyed them. I also enjoy your appreciation for Home Free's talents. I love A Capella and enjoy some of the other groups & artists out there, but for me, nothing can compare to the abilities and talent that Home Free possesses.
Home Free is great about paying tribute to original artists for their covers. One song this is really true for is Take Me Home, Country Roads. Besides a fantastic arrangement( it took 5 years til they were satisfied with it), it is feels like a love song to the original imo.
Yes,they have a Patreon. Every cover they make is an upgrade.Their arrangements are stellar,as well as their backdrops. Their talent speaks for its self.
Respecting the originals they cover while still adding their own spin and making it "theirs" is something Home Free does VERY well. Thank you for recognizing that.
Mr Nick...Mr Nick... You sooo have an Old Soul (along of course a new soul)..with an incredible ear & knowledge of music !!! You will looove CRAZY..(Patsy Cline) My fav for intricate harmonies and beautiful video check out BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD !! ....& yes yes yes we all looove CSN !!! "Southern Cross " my fav !!
The last concert I attended was a Crosby, Stills and Nash one. They were so good, but this in 5 part harmony if wonderful. My new favorite Home Free song.
Don McLean’s “American Pie” collaboration with Home Free was a first for the legendary singer. The 75-year-old reveals he had never collaborated with another artist until joining with Home Free for a new version of his classic hit, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the historic song. This Home Free/Don McLean collaboration in early 2022 was in honor of the 50th anniversary of Don McLean's release of American Pie. It is one of my favorite Home Free covers.
Vocal perfection!! Stunning in its simplicity & one I never tire of putting on repeat! LOVED your reaction to this & I look forward to your reaction of “Mayday” when you hear that too. Listen to a few more before that one though. Now you’ve fallen down this rabbit hole there’s no climbing out of it!! 🙂
This is Amazing! Now I have to go search Crosby, Stills and Nash! You are introducing me to other groups that I missed in 77 years. I had believed that there was no point in music any later than the early 70’s. Just people glad to have their singing and lyrics covered by loud drums and brass!
This one was almost shocking when it first was released, after watching them for so long. So haunting. Another with sort of this style of harmony is We All Want What We Ain't Got, if you haven't done it yet. Also haunting harmonies. Great reactions always. Thanks. Take care.
I call it "Goosebumpery!"
I think you will like "My Church" and "Do You Hear What I Hear" among others.
CSN & Y were my faves growing up - listened to them for hours and hours - thanks for this -
Pretty cool stuff, most amazing rendition, thanks for playing 😊
Always staying true and honoring the original where any minor changes enhance the total!!! Be Safe
They are So Good ❤
There just isn't much to say about this. So good harmonies, so well sung! So different voices, but still one. So short but o so powerful
I'm so glad I finally got to see HF live in the Netherlands.
It was really that great! Even better than I thought. The first time but certainly not the last.
Crosby, Stills, and Nash have a very distinct sound and Home Free covers it beautifully!
Love that this shows that Adam Rupp besides being a phenomenal beat boxer also has an amazing voice❤
@@mellisahiggins8569 100% truth

Stunning 😍
Master class in 5-part harmony. Absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks for listening!

Another great reaction to another great Home Free cover. 😊
Home Fries holidays are always top notch! Go back to one of the first ones 7 Bridges Rd.!! Also listen to bless the broken road! They never disappoint you whether it’s serious or soy! Great reaction!!
Love how Chance and Rob sound like one voice early in the song! You Nick, my young man, are an old soul! ❤
Home Free is addicting. This, I consider, a masterpiece.
If you like the classics, you really should check out their collaboration with Don MacLean - American Pie or their cover of The Doobie Brothers - Listen to the Music.
Simply a master class performance in a cappella. Stunning. Thanks Nick. 🍟
This is a masterclass in harmony and precision. Love the 5 part harmony.
I only have one problem with this song, it should be 10 minutes longer. lol! These guys are truly amazing. Great reaction, have a great day!
❤❤
Agree completely! I thought the same of the original by CS&N.
The CSN version is too short.
Can tell you're a Fry already Nick.!
Oh he's a Fry for sure❤❤
Loved your reaction Nick. Such a angelic classic.
Glad you enjoyed it
AMAZING PRECISION!! An exquisite 5-part harmony masterpiece!!!
Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
I always say his singing is the "sweet treat". ❤❤❤

Home Free can do anything and do it better than anyone. This truly is perfection and it’s still one of my favorites of theirs after all this time.❤️🤗🐝
I went to a Home Free gig on Saturday in Manchester, England.
They were awesome and sound as good live.
They said we were at a party, not a concert and it was. Great vibe. Brilliant! ❤
I was there too! We had an amazing time and they were sooooooo good! Tim's bass literally vibrated the floor!
Eagles had some pretty good harmonies too. This is one of my favorite Home Free covers. If you're looking for covers of classics - take a look at their cover of the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music"
Perfect choice!
'Seven Bridges Road '🙂
Love that one & also “flowers on the wall”
Not to forget another one of their greatest videos "Brothers In Arms"
The scary thing is.. they just make it look so EASY!!!!!!!!!
By now you know their range and capabilities.
Such a modest group which for me goes along way.... RESPECT!!!!!!!

This is gorgeous - and I could see it on your face throughout. Nothing like beautiful human voices in perfect harmony. Thank you.
Yes, this is one of my favorite Home Free covers, I get goosebumps *every* time I listen to it (and have heard it many, many times). Love your reaction.
Wow, thank you!
😊I really enjoy this talented group and they did an awesome job on this cover. 🖖❤
Magnificent! They have done a live, off mic performance of this at the Ryman. It is amazing how it sounds outside of a studio.
Perfect! and a great reaction too. 🙂

I've always thought of this song as poetry. Home free has done this beautifully.
Nick, you're an excellent reactor! Thank you!
“I Can’t Outrun You”.
Yes!! It’s a MUST!

Thanks for the Home Free reaction!!
1
CSN sang this as a folk; HF sang it as art. (No criticism of either) Good reaction!
Perfection. An eargasm for sure.
Couldn't agree more!
Love this beautiful arrangement and your reaction to it!
Thank you so much!!
They just have the special knack of being able to take a song you love and make you love it all over again. I saw CSN&Y back in the day with the Beach Boys, and another band I can't ever remember as opener and I think they would like what they did. Enjoy

you should really listen to them doing this live off-mic at the Ryman on Oct. 2019 it's on Efren Diaz page.
Love this cover. ❤
These boys are so very talented. Love these boys. I'm a die hard Home Fry. Amazing.❤️❤️❤️
Thier harmonies are AMAZING ❤
This is hauntingly good, isn't it? I love their harmony together.
I was fortunate to hear them do this live at the Ryman. Talk about chills. Thank you for your great reaction to this song.
Yes,they have a Patreon. Every cover they make is an upgrade.Their arrangements are stellar,as well as their backdrops. Their talent speaks for its self.

I agree with you 100%. I live these guys…so versatile and so talented!!
They really are fantastic.
Yes this was before young was added
When it comes to vocal harmonies, there are none better that CSN+Y
CSN is one of my favs too! Love their harmonies and guitar prowess. Best time for music, ever!

Great reaction. Another great harmony from them is My Country Tis of Thee.
1st time hearing this by Home Free. It was beautiful
The last concert I attended was a Crosby, Stills and Nash one. They were so good, but this in 5 part harmony if wonderful. My new favorite Home Free song.
Yeah, they are utterly so pure and fantastic. They've hit another home run here and you are right in saying that it is a tribure to CSN.

Try Seven Bridges Road by them……pure beauty!
I experienced Home Free in Sept. 2022 in Spokane, Wash. I love them. ❤
Wonderful cover! They are really fantastic!
This is a masterpiece from Home Free 💞💞Thanks for your reaction Nick, hugs from a Fries from Norway 🫂🫂💞💞👏🏽👏🏽
Great rxn as usual. Keep the HF coming!

You made me really happy to hear that you are well versed in CSN. It makes me so crazy when reactors don't have a clue who the original artists are.
This one was almost shocking when it first was released, after watching them for so long. So haunting. Another with sort of this style of harmony is We All Want What We Ain't Got, if you haven't done it yet. Also haunting harmonies. Great reactions always. Thanks. Take care.
Couldn't agree more!
You must listen to Brothers in Arms. It is haunting and mesmerizing with incredible harmonies.
Just beautiful !!
Love your expression as you listened. Good breakdown.
Tim's bass @4:35 or so is a cathedral organ, giving the song a very spiritual sound.
Amazing harmonies! Plus I love the black and white format. This is so beautiful! Nice one Nick!
Love your honest reactions, Nick. They are truly amazing!
I love a fantastic harmony but forget how hard it is to be two people in the same voice.
Adam Chance is the creative guide on this song, for Home Free.
