I was lucky to find a shiny marill in both emerald and pearl, I caught a shiny zubat in emerald, shiny golem in Y, and caught a shiny liepard in white...I was just level grinding for the 3rd gym leader at the time.
Fun fact: in Pokemon Stadium 1, you can get different variation of colors if you nickname your Pokemon by changing the order of the letters of his name. For example: if you nickname your Pikachu "Kachupi" or something like that, you'll get a greenish Pikachu.

It's an amazing and pretty simple feature we got years ago, yet we can't have it nowadays for a weird reason. It'd also make shiny Pokemon different for those which look pretty much the same (i.e. Glaceon or Leafeon) and give every Pokemon a more unique aspect besides nature and IVs.
Destreder V. Mines legit, I SR'd for a Shiny Groudon in soulsilver, got it and then moved it into Omega Ruby, placed a Magna Stone on it (think that's what it's called) and boom primal shiny groudon. It took a hell of a while though

Sgv_Sth The shiny Haxorus requires way more effort. Gyarados was found through normal game progression. Haxorus required you to fill in the national dex!
7th gen’s the worst imo. XD I have nothing against 6th gen’s, because I got my first Shiny ever in those games. But once I hunted in my previous gen games as well I have to say the blue and white sparkles of b/w and dp were gorgeous.

Onyxs I dont like it that much cause it literally covers the actual shiny pokemon with a giant star. Also that the sound from Gen 6 was reused. But i still dont really mind it.
Being short is good, but it's a massive, distinctive pattern. It isn't a subtle shine, it's a large obscuring symbol that takes up more space than it needs to. It's just not very elegant and is more than a little smothering. It looks more like an attack than an indicator. Generations 2, 4 and 5 had it best, with snappy, quick halos of sparkles orbiting around the shiny Pokemon, with subtle sounds adding to the special quality of these animations.
Gen 3 had the best animation for shinies. It was simple, didn't waste a large amount of time, and wasn't an annoying sound like the recent generations.

At least the Gen 7 animation is quick. It's fucking obnoxious when you're battling against one of those showoffs in Gen 6 who packs a full team of shinies and you spend more time watching the long ass shiny animation instead of battling.

Generation 3 was probably my favorite version. The other animations feel too long. Gen 3 was straight to the point and it looked great.
