My Son has just got himself a scroll was and his first project off of it were chess men. I think he will enjoy it a lot as he gets more into it. I have also sent him your channel to watch.
Oh he will love it! Thank you for sharing my channel with him! I hope you keep me updated on his progress! But tell him I said to never give up! It's worth the trials and errors that come with learning when you start seeing the end results getting better and better!
Plywood will eat your blades rapidly. The issue is the glue lines in the plywood. I recently stack cut 3 layers of 1/8" bb plywood and had to change the blade every 10-15 minutes. I was using Pegas #3 MG blades. Yes you do get some lube from tape. It comes from the release agent in the top layer of the tape.
Thank you so much for your input! I kind of figured the glue was the issue. I guess maybe that is the love/hate relationship I have with plywood. I will be doing a live stream this Saturday evening using 1/4" plywood and starting with the spiral blade. I prefer these for some patterns, but we shall see. Feel free to share any insights, you have no idea how much I appreciate your input!
