Guided Meditation - Letting Thoughts Go

- We have been blessed with a mind that can think, but this blessing soon turns into a curse when we start over-thinking. We believe the way to stop over-thinking is to stop our thoughts, but the harder we try, the more intense our thinking becomes.
We need to understand that it is impossible to stop thinking. The mere process of trying to stop thinking is thinking itself. It is the mind fighting the mind. It brings more problems and is a foolish thing to do. It will end up driving you crazy.
You need to just calmly watch, accept and let go. Sit somewhere quiet with your eyes lightly closed and watch your mind. The deeper you watch, the deeper your awareness becomes and small gaps naturally start arising. One thought goes and another has not yet come. Don't try to judge or control, just watch. Once you start to see gaps in your thinking, you can begin to let go. This guided meditation will help you place each thought onto a leaf and let it float down the stream.
So, next time you are consumed by thoughts, just watch, accept and use this guided meditation to let go.
