FWIW years ago I learned to "send a message of love" from my heart when someone cuts me off in traffic, when I see a panhandler that I have no cash to give, or when I see someone who desires to get a need met and doesn't know how to get it. I've learned that when I can do this the holy spirit can show me the heart of the person in front of me.

As you shared these examples I was impressed upon to also apply thinking Celestial to how I talk to myself. Do I call myself fool, or some other derogatory accusation? Do I get angry with myself? Thank you for helping me to examine myself more closely.

A Stake President taught me that another name of God is I Am. Any time we say IAm fat, dumb, lazy, no good etc. we are using the name of the Lord in vain. I try not to use I Am…in a negative way anymore. Something to ponder.

Thank you Bryce! I needed to hear this. Most of my life, I've had terrestrial attitudes/motivations, usually focusing on how my choices might benefit me. Only occasionally (in my opinion) have I entered into something more of a celestial mindset. I need to be more self-aware of my motivations and whose will am I attempting to do.

It's interesting and hopeful that the Nephites and Lamanites to whom the Sermon at the Temple was given became a celestial society for the next 200 years. It really is possible to think
Celestial, and we tend to become what we think.

I have been looking forward to the Terrestrial world so much, but this makes me hesitate. As the recipient of actions from a narcissist mother and then many needs ignored by a spouse I am a real mess with CPTSD and health issues from eating all feelings. I think there is a great deal of damage done by words and actions that are not physical that I'm hoping will be gone in the next step.
I appreciate your videos so much. You always add to my day when I listen

I am so sorry you have faced such difficulties. Hang on. The Saviors can heal all the damage that others have caused:
“Behold, verily I say unto you, there are hypocrites among you, who have deceived some, which has given the adversary power; but behold SUCH SHALL BE RECLAIMED” (D&C 50:8).
“Some of the ponderable problems, the unanswered questions, the seeming injustices and discrepancies and uncertainties...which we often have a difficult time in reconciling, will find answer and solution and satisfaction if we are patient and prayerful and willing to wait. Part of them are the price we pay for our free agency. We pay a great price for free agency in this world, but it is worth the price we pay. So long as men have their free agency, there will be temporary injustices and discrepancies and some seemingly inexplicable things, which ultimately in our Father's own time and purpose will be reconciled and made right” (Richard L. Evans, Improvement Era, Jun. 1952, 435).

Repent for believing the lies you were taught about your worth and lovability - I have learnt so much about how to heal this now in this life, don't wait! The prophet tells us to find the joy in daily repentance. Healing and joy and love are what comes when we repent ❤

Remember that your mother in this life was here to learn too, not here to be a perfect mother. If she hasn't chosen to learn and grow that is her choice, but you can apply the atonement and know that you have parents in heaven who love you perfectly. You were made in their image. We are all here to use our agency to choose who we become despite the challenges and trials..❤

  • @markstimson983

Think celestial? Why would I ever detract myself from directly thinking of my Savior? I covenant each week to “take upon [me] the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given [me]; that [I] may always have his Spirit to be with [me].” As I have taken this covenant seriously, the only covenant that we renew, it has brought to me a deeply personal relationship with my Savior. I experience His love to a degree that I have never experienced before. That love is the greatest shield and protection that I have ever experienced. I have symbols that remind me to keep the commandments with exactness and honor, to set an undeviating course, to nourish body and spirit and to bend a knee in prayer. To literally take upon me the cloak of Charity - my Savior. I can’t imagine exchanging thinking of and remembering my Savior for the ambiguous phrase thinking celestial. I can’t even comprehend Celestial. But I can comprehend and experience the example and love of my Savior. I want to think, say, and do what He guides me to be in every aspect of my life. My focus will always be on Christ. He is who I follow.

Thank you, Bryce! I do learn from you, but I have to disagree that wanting to harm is terrestrial. It is telestial thinking. I cannot understand having such a desire. I can get angry with rude drivers which is terrestrial. This comes from a judgment that they should know better and are selfish people, but wishing them harm is another step lower. Celestial thinking would be to pray to not have condemning thoughts and to give them the benefit of the doubt or to pray for them to learn and not get into an accident. A celestial person doesn’t have it in them to have unkind thoughts because they cannot stand for any to lose there salvation and would hope for that rude driver to change. A terrestrial person would think they are justified in condemning the person and thinking they are a bad person. Telestial thinking is wanting to harm, and Christ said even our thoughts convict us. There are levels in a telestial kingdom, and we can have mostly terrestrial ways about us and still be telestial in one way. A terrestrial person doesn’t even entertain thoughts of adultery, and a celestial person is not even at all tempted by these thoughts because of his profound love for his/her spouse.

    • @talkingscripture
      @talkingscripture  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Thanks, but I disagree. You are lumping the terrestrial world and the terrestrial kingdom into the same thing. They are not. Neither is the telestial world and telestial kingdom.

If we have been to the temple we might remember at what point we enter the terrestrial world, what we do and what we wear there. Taking this into account could the thoughts you mention possibly still be telestial in nature rather than terrestrial?

Here is the Short Version of Bryce's lesson on Think Celestial.
There are 3 ways to live. 1) No Law. 2) Lower Law. 3) Higher Law.
#2) Moses' Lower Law aka 10 Commandments = Love God, Love yourself and your parents, Love your neighbors and Do Not Victimize Them by lying about them, stealing from them, adulterating them, killing them. Simple. People who live the Lower Law make the World a wonderful place (a Terrestrial Place).
#1). People who live No Law ... do not love anyone and do create victims by stealing, lying (the "news" media get paid to lie), adulterating, raping, kidnapping (aka stealing), and murdering and torturing.
The victims of these No Law people require Justice for their injuries, which will come at the Final Judgement when the perpetrators are hauled into Court in front of the Judge (Father God), the Advocate aka Defense Council (Son / Savior God) and the Prosecutor (imho Holy Ghost God ... who knows everything you ever did) ... and all their victims will testify against them AND demand restitution for their injuries.
IF the defendant has a covenant relationship (via baptism) with the Advocate then He will represent the defendant and negotiate a Restitution Plan that fully compensates all of his or her victims for their injuries. For some defendant perpetrators, I image this Restitution Period to be extremely painful and require many millions of years. (What restitution will be required for raping and murdering a child?)
If the defendant has not made covenant with the Advocate, then he or she is alone to defend himself against God The Prosector. Good luck, you will loose.
#3). The Higher Law = the Law of Sanctification. In the words of CS Lewis Mere Christianity vol 4 "Being good is wonderful (aka living the Lower Law), but Being Good is not good enough". God is more than merely good, God is sanctified and to associate with Him in His Heaven requires that we become sanctified. The Higher Law initiates Sanctification ... a practice conducted ONLY by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Temple. Go get sanctified.
