That is what happened to me too. Was a lukewarm Christian all of my life. Attended church but still living in sins and had no real relationship with God until God made Himself known to me and I was never the same again. The defining moment of my existence was when I had truly known that I'm loved by my Creator despite of my ignorance towards Him all of this while. I found everlasting inner peace and I'm filled with love for others. I feel like I'm the richest person in the universe even if I'm going to be disabled or homeless tomorrow. Again, I can never be the same again. My soul delights in His presence and I'm grateful to Jesus Christ for never giving up on me and lead me to the Father. Blessed are those who have not seen yet still believe.

Same here brother, I was a very religious catholic person and missed the whole POINT. I've been born again, I've been saved, my eyes have been opened....no more traditions, my salvation began at 27 yrs old and can never lose it, because its not about my pathetic good deeds , but about Jesus' power over my sins and death. I feel your joy ! God bless you brother.

Although I’m not Christian I too experienced something similar with the Creator as a child. I try to be a decent human a do what Jesus, Muhammad, Abraham, Noah (Peace be upon them all) taught which was to love God with all your heart, and soul.

He will be alone but even his solitude would not destroy him but it would serve a purpose to do the works of Christ. I believe that man/person will be or is us. That's the beauty of this scene. People wonder about those that refer to themselves as "Christians"!
With few exceptions, we do not call ourselves "Roman Catholics, Catholics, Protestants, or anything else".
    WHAT "IS" a "Christian"?
    WHO "IS" a "Christian"?
    WATCH this man's intensity!
His self-wonder and amazement when he says: "I Believe!"
He then adds: "I Can Never Be The Same"!
I personally had such an experience back in c. 1984.
This 'Experience' is NOT necessarily needed to 'Believe' properly when experiencing the Required "Saving Faith" but it's a bonus!
Often, this experience comes 'later' in the Walk.
Suddenly, you stop and realize that 'you' isn't the 'you' that used to be and never will be again!
This Realization or Discovery is filled with at least some amazement at this self-awareness.
    I'll add this also:
For a person to REALLY come to the Understanding that nearly ALL his views and beliefs are either Wrong or way insufficient is labeled a "Paradigm Shift" of Life!
That is, you've Learned Something that's turned the table over and a New Life must now start but Start inside your Old Existing Life that is common to Man.
The same Job, family and people but it's NOT your Old Life at all!
It's a wonderful and grand experience to really understand that the Living God really is your loving and always close watching and by Father!
That there is Everlasting Peace between you and He because of What His Son has done for you personally on the Cross!
That even yet uncommitted sins will not break this Safe and Everlasting Relationship with the Almighty.

    • @coolgirltomka
      @coolgirltomka  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Ken, thank you so much for this amazing comment. I'm really delighted of how you described the faith of Clavius, because me personally always saw these lines: "I can never be the same" as the most essential in the whole Christianity. Yes, total change of life, even though the circumstances stay the same. You become somehow the other person, because you find God and His Son in your heart, you find that He loved you to the point that He sacrificed The Son and "the tomb is empty" and He is promising everlasting life.
      What a discovery!
and first time when I saw this movie, I wondered, why didn't Clavius become a Christian with Peter and other brothers? Why didn't he follow them? but then I realized, It's not about being anywhere with them, he indeed was preaching by his way of life, the new way of life he found, like he preached to this house's owner. He was a true Christian and he'd never ever be the same....
You are right, Ken. We don't call ourselves anything particular, I'm absolutely agree with you on this, but sometimes there are moments when I still wonder, why shouldn't there still be a fellowship of Christians somewhere in the world, brotherhood as it was in the first century, the ones that Clavius met, the people who love each other, don't do the things that God forbids, don't kills, don't hates and love God and please him in every way they can! and there are so many religions, so many denominations and we(personally, me) are stuck somewhere between, not knowing where to go, to whom to go, because we know that the way is one - The Christ - but still with no fellowship and not surrounding with spiritual people, with whom you'd be directly say: "Oh, here they are, the true Christians"!

@@coolgirltomka We are in the Church of Laodicea! I'm a Christian Scholar of 36+ years and I'm turning 70 in Nov.
Yet, although I tried hard to fit in different Churches, I just kept running into to many sinful trouble-packing people both women and men that kept putting me to the test of patience and endurance while hindering any ministry I was already being roadblocked from.
My point is that the Western Church is too fat and happy with too many uncalled and therefore unqualified 'Teachers' all yelling "Hey! Look over here!".
Our churches are full of infant Christians all dirtying their diapers. It's a spiritual Nursery while the Pastors are busy building Empires they think are for God but are really edifices to themselves and wonderful Retirement Plans.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a sinner and will be in this life although I hate sin.
It's the Times we live in. I have a motto and a clear Goal: "Preach the Gospel and Strengthen the saints!"
Rapture gotten close. Keep reaching out. Never give up or allow yourself to be too discouraged.
I'm on Face Book if you'd like to obliquely fellowship. It's Soft Evangelism but I'm always 'pushing'. LOL

Lots of questions at the movie's end. Does Clavius eventually fish for men? Or, like Mary (Jesus's mother), does he treasure these things in his heart? Does he ever meet any of the disciples again? And what of Pilate? It would be fascinating to see Clavius meet up with Pilate again. It would be sort of like Gladiator, but less violent.

    • @coolgirltomka

We will never exactly know what happened to him, but the ending made it clear, that he indeed became a Christian and by true literal meaning of the word. He became a new creation, he changed and he "can never be the same". And yes, he would fish for men just by living his life as a Christian and he preached to that man in the cave, when he told him the whole story. So yes, Clavius would become a very spiritual and influential person among first christians. Thanks for the comment and God bless you! Stay safe!

    • @coolgirltomka
      @coolgirltomka  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Nickolas, we see in the end of the movie, that Clavius didn't really follow the apostles directly, but He indeed became a Christian, he believed, he found the purpose of life and he "would never be the same" as he said. He became a new creation in Christ, as all Christians should. So, answer to your question, I believe it is one and the same thing. I mean becoming like an apostle and living different life in Christ, because even if he didn't preach like apostles do, I'm sure he would preach the gospel only by living his life the way he decided to live. Doesn't our lives, actions represent Christ and His gospel in the first place? I think so. So, doesn't matter what exactly he chose to do, what's most important is that he chose the way of Christ, he chose the truth and with the apostles or without them - He became a Christian and he was never going to be the same! This is all my opinion of course. Thanks for the question and for watching the video ^_^ God bless!

This scene just didn't work. You can't pair a great actor with a bad one and expect a good result. The guy just didn't sound believe able with his "do you truly believe this?" line, it came off as forced and flat.
    Good movie, bad ending sequence.

Well, if I actually see miracles performed and a man truly die and risen from the grave myself I might change my mind about belief. But no movie is going to be anything but a myth story. There is no question that religion is emotion based and this movie pulls the strings. Don't get me wrong I enjoy myth stories but I like Star Trek also and it's future myth. May the farce be with you.

So you have to believe in God to be saved from what God would have done to you if you don’t. Okay got it.

God is not an old 50 ft man in space but something that created the universe. It creates and nothing more.
We modern humans ridicule belief systems and leave behind nothing. Perhaps this thing sent Jesus to show we can become something better and not feel we are living in an unkind universe.

@@vincentfisher1603 that’s an unfair measurement in itself - the disciples saw and experienced first hand. That’s not belief - that’s a FACT to THEM. It’s unfair at best to use the same faith measurement against those born 2000 years later in a scientifically advanced society.
