It takes a lot for someone like John just to stay with our Lord in His dying moments. After all, John is the one disciple Jesus loved. The other disciples ran because they couldn’t take seeing such a gruesome sight. But we should not judge them for it because if that were us, we probably would have ran also. Even so, Jesus forgave them regardless. As we should always ask to be forgiven whenever we sin. I believe in Jesus but I still sin though less frequently simply because I’m only a human being. But every day, in silence, I ask for forgiveness and continue to try to repent. Repentance was never meant to be a one-time thing. It’s something we believers have to do over, and over, and over, and over again. TL; DR: Believing in Christ does not make your sinless. Believing in Christ makes you sin less.
Not sure John was the only disciple he loved but it seems he did favor him but Peter was the rock even though he denied him and paid severely for it,man I wish I could go back and witness these things, how great would that be??? Remember this is just my opinion or interpretation.✌️
My faith is weak, my knowledge is little and I am far from steadfast or producing good fruit...But I am his in every way! He his my Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ to the glory of the father and Holy Spirit.

What I like about this scene is that it show that not everyone that signals virtue that he or she would love to be martyred actually has the determination it takes to be a martyr, to actually face the pain and suffering of being tortured or killed in any manner of gruesome ways. It's easy to "happily submit" when you don't know what being crucified actually is.
“What does this rebirth mean?” “Eternal life for everyone who believes” That is the gospel right there. It is so simple. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ for eternal life is saved and will be in the kingdom of God.
all the followers were different -- and all had different personalities (look at Paul and Peter for example) -- just like today and all of us -- so why not have him like this ?
@@Yuhanna._ That isn't true. To use his name in a derogatory sense or in profanity is a sin. There is no sin in calling God by his name, be the Father's name, Son's or Holy spirit.
What would we really do with eternal life ? Every day for eternity surrounded by the billions of others souls that died before us. There’s no tomorrow, no yesterday and nothing to look forward to : I call this torture and they call it paradise.
The soldiers didnt break Jesus legs because they found he was already dead so they pierced his side. This was done to fulfill the prophecy "Not one of bones shall be broken" please people read the GOSPELS of MATHEW MARK LUKE AND JOHN in your King James Version Bibles to make sure you are reading and understanding the TRUE WORD OF GOD.
Much of the dialogues between the Romans and the locals were conducted in Greek, as it was a common second language for both of them. For Romans because the Greek world used to begin somewhere between Rome and Naples and for Judeans because of Alexander's conquests.
The Diaspora. There were hundreds of thousands of Jews throughout the Mediterranean at the time, many of them most likely fluent in several languages. Those in Judea weren't as worldly, though, so there certainly was a mixture. The disciples were an eclectic bunch so some might have only spoken Aramaic and Greek, others perhaps more. The Eastern part of the Roman Empire had been deeply hellenised for centuries due to the successor states of Alexander. Also, the records that make up the New Testament were all written in Greek, so that's probably a good indication that they all definitely spoke Greek. Hence most know Him as "Jesus" and not Yeshua since Jesus is the Greek form. Outside of the initial Jewish followers, most early Christians would definitely have called him Jesus. Even the term Christ is from Khristos which is Greek for annointed. Messiah would be the Jewish word of the exact same meaning.
let us not talk pure lies please, I love Jesus but crucifixion was not easy, I would have ran also, but come back to repent, all those who ran, they paid the price either way they were all killed very unpleasant! never promise God anything cos u will regret! he will prove u as a lie! just be humble as ask his mercy and strength! Its even worse, cos we love beautiful things like money, cars, career etc and think we can stand death, if criminals enter the church with guns everyone will run away!
Funny to see that the Hollywood iconography still survives today. Watchtower and Awake! also depict the ancient Jews as actors for hairstyling promo clips.

Of the twelve disciples, only John stayed with Jesus during the crucifixion.

One of the best scenes from an excellent movie... (Risen is somewhat of a reboot of The Robe, an old Richard Burton movie from 1953)
This is my favorite scene in the movie!

Mine too! Love it !! Love "Everywhere"

Yes it beautifully simple, yet most Christians 2000 years on still don’t get it,just like the tribune in this clip

Bartholomew…the original troll.
The most epic moment 😂
I was literally watching this movie a few hours ago

Love is our weapon❤
❤
Tom Felton is such an underrated actor.
That Roman dude carried this movie
They were all great. Jesus included
That actor is an underappreciated power house.
I adored this movie.
I watch it every Easter ❤
Why haven't I heard about this movie till now!!???
I've only watched a few scenes on You Tube. Can't wait to see the movie!
So glad to hear God's real name!!
Yahweh? Jehovah? Yeshua? I Am? God apparently has many "real" names.
you do realize it's a sin and blasphemy to say his name right? You should not be happy of that
@@YokaiX the Lord our God is the word himself
Jesus is just the Greek translation of Yeshua. He didn’t despise Greek

We're everywhere 🙏🙏
The risen Lord changes everything. As it should. All Creation groans awaiting Christ's return. PtL!
Just awesome!

Really well done. Way better than most Hollywood Christian movies.

He later was crucified
Was this young man the youth who was almost arrested when he was caught nearly naked in a public park at 4 AM with Jesus?
Malfoid...
What did Clav meam with "much better than salt"? Did the romans gave the jews salt at any occasion or what?
What to do
I don’t know.
Repent and believe in the gospel and be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

I think there was a Hellenised minority in Judea and there were tensions between the proper Jews and the Hellenised ones.
