I used to sleep in the trunk space of our station wagon when I was a kid. And, I'd play back there on long trips.
Man, things were way different back then.

“What are ppl going to do for a whole hour” 😂😂😂 if my phones charged I’ll figure something out and lot more can be done if you don’t have to drive. But until every car on the road become autonomous it’s not safe to not be in a traditional seating position in the car

there will probably be a built in camera and if that doesnt work, witness testaments are going to be needed to report what went wrong

LOL, the title of this video made me laugh pretty good. Nicely done. Autonomous vehicles are decades away and isn't anywhere close to market for the general public. The POTENTIAL is there, yes, but the practical application is nowhere near ready and won't be for a very long time.

3:02-3:09 “ _After all, wouldn't it be great to get into __-an autonomous-__ _*_a_*_ vehicle at the end of the day, catch up on some sleep, and wake up in the morning at your new destination?_ ”. Isn't that describing sleeper trains? Or just regular trains?

Tesla has more recalls than any other company. Normally that would be a huge red flag to stay the heck away, but people will fall for anything that has an "innovative" label slapped on it.

It's taken until version 12.x of FSD-ß and, while it's now _a _*_lot_*_ closer,_ it still has a ways to go until I'd trust it implicitly.

Musk has done more harm to autonomous vehicles than any individual or corporation in the entire world. His technology is grossly outdated, stuck in Level 2 autonomy when others like Mercedes have reached level 3. It's all because he stubbornly refuses to use anything other than outdated camera system as the car's "eyes", which are low-tech garbage systems compared to advanced systems that use radar / Lidar and cannot be easily fooled by something as simple as light fog the way camera technology is. For a man who claims to be about "hi-tech", he is stubbornly refusing to abandon garbage old technology in favor what is proven to WORK and is behaving like an Amish person with his adversion to using modern technology.

Public acceptance of this technology appears to be waning all the time. I am unsure of how it will work in the long run. Maybe eventually autonomous cars will exist, but that assumes that there is still the money to invest in the technology. I am not confident it will, owing to higher interest rates and aging nature of our society. Of course, horses can in fact, do a pretty decent job of driving themselves if the driver dozes off, but people do not seem to like moving so slowly, or at least it seemed that way until bicycle usage started increasingly recently. It is all a mess, but I doubt that autonomous cars are not yet good enough.

I do not agree about the end of the steering wheel ! Self-driving still has a long to go to become mail stream!
A self-driving car relies on several measuring devices and sensors. These sensors are calibrated at the assembly. But the calibration of measuring devices and sensors will deviate with time and must be recalibrated ; this is a known fact, but never mentioned in the media! Tesla does not provide recalibration services.
If a self-driving car has crashed in your car because its sensors are out of calibration or out of service, who is responsible?
Is the owner of the self-driving car responsible?
Or is the manufacturer of the self-driving car responsible?
The legal aspects of accidents with as a self-driving car, have a lot of grey zones that will have to be clarified by the court!

  • @Yosetime

That was a little disturbing to hear the Japanese engineer use the word "rider" rather than 'driver'. I don't think there can ever be a time when there is not at least one human being actively 'driving'. Every airplane needs at least one pilot. Every train needs a conductor. Every ship needs a captain. Making cars, by the millions, drive without a driver and encourages the driver to be distracted (the reason for most car accidents these days) with such things as entertainment and sleeping, is just asking for trouble! I wonder if those people who want to be inside a vehicle with no attentive driver would also feel comfortable getting on a commercial airliner knowing there are no pilots in the cockpit, or that they are watching a movie instead of watching the plane? Would they agree to that?

That's a stupid bar. If no one is driving it, it's self-driving. Doesn't matter if that's on a designated track on a loop. By your definition, you can get in a car with no steering wheel or pedals, and have it take you wherever you want to go, anywhere in N. America, Europe, NZ, Australia, China, Japan, S. Korea, etc. but because it can't do that in India it's not self-driving. Dude, I can't drive in India, so... who's driving my car? And the people that do drive there get in accidents, so by your definition even they aren't driving their cars? So we have cars driving around everywhere with no one actually "driving"?

There are already vehicles that you do not have to drive, called busses. But why arent people using them? Because they wonna drive by themselves? So what are these now? Are they small busses?
And what heck of energy will be used to provide all the data that runs it all? I recently learned that we are already almost at the limit of data used. So how does that all fit together?

With the seats facing each other, could bigger airbags deploy from the roof of the car and or the floor in between passengers keeping everyone from colliding with each other and in place? Also, could the seatbelt be attached to the seat instead of the side of the car allowing you to be strapped tight to the seat? You’re welcome

    • @Andriastravels
      @Andriastravels 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Airbags can not deploy safely from the roof. Seat belts must be attached to the frame, not to the seat. Engineering. You're welcome.

If your seatbelt was attached to the seat, it would probably be worse than just having no seatbelt as you could potentially become a projectile strapped to a seat

Only thing to miss here is so quality VSCode and Microsoft Visual Studio work which should be some hard to track what you put there end screen/card Night Cop Chase and you putting there yourself always - your own channel. You come fill survey and you see how meaningless empty shell that car is if you still barely able to afford it and still dream about any fast five - f9 car or yellow supercar and you answer is still - simple cheep car is that I want. Why have you showed it to us future that is not here yet after creating youtube account 4:13? These gaming companies merging again and becoming one or going bankrupt, but it won't be you who is soon to be homeless. Yes Killed In Action or KIA - that's some car name that is cheep substitute for any good town car. This 1:26 could be what you get, but four years passed and four before and soon there will be new election and nobody - no boss - sees this goal as making the cars and selling it them cheaper to employees.

What does an autonomous car of the future look like? Not that different from our car today.
Rewind the clock to let's say the '90s, have a look at the concept cars they had back then, and look at cars today. How close are they to those concepts? I think they are still closer to the cars that we drove back then than to the actual concept cars.
The video states that cars haven't changed much over a century. I disagree, But it's a slow evolution and has never been a revolution. A revolution is a gamble, a risk, and manufacturers don;t like those. So they'll stick to evolution. But major changes to the cabin? I don't see that happening, in a big part because of things like motion sickness.
Oh, and there's a reason you find sick bags in airplanes ...
