I had so many such bad experiences when renting cars. Arriving at the airport and they didn't have what I booked. And always all the other options are much more expensive 😒 In my opinion, they are just taking advantage of late arrivals. It happens in many countries. Interesting for Americans: The US Army landed in nearby Salerno in September 1943. The fighting there was heavy with thousands killed and wounded. Many ships were lost as well. When you look out you never guessed what is below that blue ocean. Sorrento was liberated on 20 September 1943 without fighting by the US Army. That is how you can enjoy the well preserved old buildings in 2024. Not all Italian towns were that lucky.
I miss Italy. Great food, historical sites, the culture was great especially when an Italian family invites you over for dinner those are moments I will never forget. But then there is somethings I dislike how they drive, taxi cheating you on cab fair, your car window gets broken into, there no such thing as getting in line. Other then these minor inconveniences I had wonderful time living there for a few years.
Lol yeah, all cultures come with their annoyances and the scamming is not a pretty one! It might make it hard to live there, but since its so beautiful it's still worth putting up to explore this absolute gem!
