- We now have our first official visual confirmation of the 4 new cars arriving in Gran Turismo 7 1.55 tomorrow, including the F3500-A Grand Prix car, Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, 1987 EF Civic Si Extra, and strangely a 2018 Toyota C-HR S...o...k...?
Unfortunately no circuit yet again, and some pretty underwhelming new events and a collectors book mean that this will likely be one of those updates which those who have lost interest in GT7 overall can likely just skip until next month and bundle together with whatever we see added in February...
Stick around here on the channel tomorrow for my initial thoughts and day one review of GT7 1.55, and of course in the following days we'll be covering new engine swaps and individual car reviews for all 4 new machines...

No one asked for a C-HR S but atleast its a new model for the series. Thats better than a copy of a car we already have.

Uncanny & Civilian Boring cars are a usual thing in GT ....
I remember seeing a comment once that said it seems like PD is adding cars they see and/or drive within their local community, and it would be hard to call that inaccurate given what we’ve gotten as of late
This is by no means better. If they just do this and the player base just accepts this, then this will become a standard for the next GT.
If they don't care about the majority then they do it wrong ffs.
@@Andrew-Lee91 GT was always meant for road cars... for what I remember, In between the first 4 games the majority of cars were just road cars or furious concept cars, the race cars were pretty... few... ok, those were good, but gt was never meant to be a simulator with tons of race cars from the most famous manufacturers. they even had to stick around with knockoff ferraris and lambos... and those were also road cars.
And no, the Racing Modification doesn't add race cars to the counter in GT2.
Besides, the Ioniq will have literally the bodykit parts of the pikes peak variant, literally a race car. and the Civic added, that is also the road variant of a road going race Civic, and not any civic, the civic that won the JTCC in 1987. so cars that storically were even important in motorsport.
the C-HR is literally a Modernized RCS From GT4, you can make it rally raid if ya want
@Cmin_Zaps well GT with ACC / EVO like Physics is what they strifed for.
Despite this they balance it more so that causal gamer would find it easier than ACC or EVO, although I wish they could learn from Kunos about car Physics but hey GT7's Physics is actually decent though hopefully it will be better in GT8
People tend to forget that GT Sport and GT7 Updates were unpredictable and pre scheduled.
That C-HR must be that one fan asked 270 or 300 days ago and PD was like "はい、やりますよ。 !" And here we go lol .

I love weird cars that are just normal every day cars so I really love that they put the C-HR S in, peak Gran Turismo is driving normal cars that you could probably get as like a rental car around the Nordschleife

One underrated aspect which I think people will miss and is maybe just circumstantial
But them having the Group C Menu book is interesting, as theyve been rotating them heavily in the legends first because of the special events, which actually sets up everyone for collecting all the cars for the menu book, which is a good way of passively getting people to have the cars ready for the extra menu book, instead of dropping it at random and it including a Cr.10mil car (like the Mp4/4 for example) that people then have to scramble to earn
Once again a credit grab. enticing people that would buy credits, to buy credits. Everything they do is micro transaction driven
@ i’d literally forgot they have MTX, arguably its so easy to grind LeMans/Sardegna/Spa that it made them redundant but maybe you’re right, it’s been so long since I needed to grind i’ve been coasting on weeklies and gold time trials

@@trinidad111 Maybe if you were not lazy or Just play the right races and play the game normally you'd have the Money. I grinded in a month around 1 million credits Just by playing sometimes on weekend or other times of the day. It's Just you having a skill issue.

This is a fairly mediocre update after having nothing for a few months, sure I can live without a new track (we've been used to not having one for a long time now). And while I don't think the 4 cars added here are terrible (yes even the C-HR S), my main issue is on how very little new events are being added, only new 3 event races is pretty disappointing. This could've been a good time to add a series for the newly added F3500-A to give some use, but instead we get the same painful standard of more nothing burgers races added instead...

@@vvoof2601 there is a reason it's still being repeated, it's one of the main issues about GT7's single player content as they generally put in more cars than new events to use them in.
Literally my main issue with the game. They have so many circuits that still cruely lack interesting and worthwhile/rewarding events like Daytona, Watkins Glen, Brands Hatch, Deep Forest and Autopolis especially with the road cars. I really like the 600PP events yet so few circuits have them so I'm doing Road Atlanta, Spa, Nurburgring/Nordschleife, Suzuka, Trial Mountain, Red Bull Ring over and over again while the others just stand there never being raced. I like that they've added the Porsche event in Laguna Seca and the Turbo Cars race in Mount Panorama, but all the other circuits are basically stuck with either GT3/4 events (fun but reward isn't worth the time spent), single car leagues (like the GT-R one) or events that are worthless so I basically never race them even though they are some of my favorite circuits.

I was first disappointed by the choice of the CH-R S, and I still can think of many many other cars that I rather would see in GT7 instead of this, especially classic cars, but I’m at the same time very curious about and actually happy about this choice in another way, as it is something really different, not really a sports car and a very modern one. Cars like this are needed in GT, as it always had everyday cars in it that no one
asked for or even considered before bringing a racing game, but these are potential cult cars in the future (not necessarily) and are part of what makes the GT Franchise Special imo

Well sorry if I said this but apparently theres one content creator on TH-cam already notice that there would be no track layouts on this update before the update trailer launches, as they said if the content had more than just cars, events, and scapes, Kaz would have special wording (Like "Big update coming next week" or some sorts) on his post about the upcoming update.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Haven't checked for it before, but sounds like it could be an interesting tell. Kaz is inconsistent sometimes though, even releasing silhouettes after the trailer is out in the old days, lol
No issue paying a few bucks to have DLC but this nonsense of “don’t complain it’s free content” is getting ridiculous. Take my money and put some life back in the game.
I'd expect PD to skip a February update. And, that will be PD going forward.

Warning: The "Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi '71 (1971)", actually this car is already in the Gran Turismo series, made its first appearance in Gran Turismo 2, with the name: "Plymouth Road Runner '71 (1971)". When they add this car to Gran Turismo 7 in a future update, they will name it: "Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi '71 (1971)". This would be one of the cars that could return to Gran Turismo 7 after a long absence from the series.
And also when they add the "Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z '90 (1990)" and the "Pontiac GTO '65 (1965)", they would replace these two cars that appeared in the previous games in the series:

Pontiac Tempest Le Mans GTO '64 (1964)
And I also want you to add and design 3 Vision Gran Turismo prototypes from the brands: Alfa Romeo, Ford and Tesla; but with names like this:

All this information has to be read, seen and known by Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital, since they are the creators of the Gran Turismo series and they must take care of this matter. I already said it, I will not repeat it again. Keep this in mind forever and never ever forget it.
Y'know what PD could've done? Let us make some of these crazy custom shots like they do for these trailers. I know I've said stuff like that before, but seriously, the race replays need a little more life added to them than random panning and overhead shots.
Other than that, this is still an alright update so far and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the patch notes tomorrow.

At this point gt7 is like a toxic hot girlfriend. Terrible for you but you keep coming back. On God I only play this game bc the psvr2 is so sick
people often write off the ioniq for simply being an EV, I find this car more exciting the new hot hatches
Its a crossover with hot hatch styling.. eh. Not the most exciting addition, I would have preferred other EVs.

No one asked for any of these cars, What we need is the new Corvette ZR one the C8 gr3 Corvette And can you please add Cadillac? It would be nice to drive a black wing. I haven’t played Gran Turismo seven in months no Cadillacs is atrocious.

@LayzeeGiant yippee!!! I actually looked on the GT6 car list wiki and GT7 is only missing about 100 cars total of interesting stuff yet they refuse to add more than 1 interesting car per update ffs
@@ByteGuyI really think at this point that PD is focused on GT8 and they just throw us a bone every month or two to keep us semi-interested. Adding one real world track and a few gr.1 and gr.3 cars would boost interest for at least 6 months. But I doubt that will ever happen.
My only issue with slower everyday cars in GT7 is that the track list absolutely horrible for said cars. There's only a few compact tracks and all of them are mediocre compared to Autumn Ring for example.

I uninstalled waaaay back, and glad to see that i missed NOTHING. Im sure thousands of players were like, "gee, i really hope we get some crossover grocery getters, cause all these race cars are just sooo boring". 😅 gt7 has become an interactive advertisement for boring axx mom cars.

Can we get an endurance race at every track with decent payouts? Two and three laps races are horrible. If they can setup 5 weekly challenge races then we should get better races in the updates. I feel the developers are working on GT8 and the new content for GT7 will continue to die off.

Gran Turismo has always been about realitsic non-hyper cars, it was Kei cars and stuff like Nissan Silvias, Toyota Celicas and such in the 90s and 00s with the first Gran Turismos, fairly recent cars that normal people could own, and now its this, nothing out of the ordinary really

Polyphony basically confirmed that there will not be any new circuits added in GT7, with the trailer that plays at the end of My First Gran Turismo.

Look the C-HR is a car only i guess 0,x% of players would ask for. The Civic is sweet classic, the Ioniq is a EV so you cannot use it when you do your own user endurance Events.
And then they only bring three events and not even one for the F3500 🙄 interessing fact is that the Sardegna Event is the only one on Version C 😮

I liked the Toyota and the purple color of the F1😅; the rest for me is a bad update. And I increasingly think that GT7 won't get a new track... I hope that behind the scenes PD is working hard so that GT8 has LOTS of new tracks, and the recent GT3 and GT4 in the game
They've could have the decency of giving us the the latest model of the CH-R, but new things might be too scary for Kazunori.

They didn't shorten anything. All the vehicle reveals have been between 3 and 5 on average, with the rare 6 or 7 DLC packs.
