I’ve been thinking about getting a pair of chunkers , but not really sure if I’d use them enough to warrant the cost. I have two Maltese with very fine and soft hair. Would like your opinion on this please.
Thinners/blenders/chunckers are really amazing especially for fixing mistakes, blending the hair into shape. So using straight or curved shears such as doing the face (if the coat isnt really curly like poodles), you really see the choppiness in coats like shih Tzu, yorkies, Maltese ect. If you have any questions lmk. And sorry if you did not want to know what i am saying. I am a professional pet stylist
What shears would be a good quality at home use. I’m a hairstylist, but not a groomer. I have two Shih Tzu’s I cut with Andis pet clippers, but I need some thinning shears fir blending.
This is a wonderful video and such an adorable sweetie, but what do you do when your dog won't even let you touch his face. Even the groomer couldn't do it. She called me to come and get him right after I dropped him off, because he was so difficult. I went back and said I'd try to help. I had him in a head lock while she worked on him, and even so, it was very difficult to do his face and head. In the end she was able to shorten the hair on his face, but it was far from being a good job. He needs to be done again, and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
Dianne Zecchino I am training my puppy to like being brushed and groom. I learned from Victoria Stillwell that you can give treats to your dog while she is being groomed. Check out It’s me or the dog episode “Pomeranian turns into ninja to avoid brushing.” I give my puppy chew stick (dream bone) when I groom him, he now associates brush, comb, nail clippers with good reward.
Oh sounds like my puppy!! He just wont stay still at all. So once what happened was that he accidently found some tissue and just would not let us take it out from his mouth. So my mom suggested that we can probably cut his hair at that time and it worked!!He didnt move or resist at all. Like he wasnt eating the tissue or anything, it was just in his mouth and we succesfully gave him a trim. Afterwards, we took out the tissue😂
Thank you for posting. I am glad no one saw me trimming my husband’s (haha) Sissy! Oh profile pic is him not me . I really learned a lot. Thanks again😊
Aw this baby is so sweet and calm. Great video as always! ❤️
incredibly helpful video!!! thank you so much!! followed it to groom our shih tzu today :))
awww that tounge! 😂 I wish mine behaves like that. My Oreo moves alot and its so difficult to groom
My Oreo and my Cookie is the same way! Lol
the dog whole video: 😛😛😛
I really like how you groom these lovely babies. I have watched groomers on TH-cam and horrified at how harsh they are.

Are you a professional groomer? Or at home groomer?
