    I still remember that random heavy metal soundtrack from the game, always caught me off guard. However it was good to see them lean into this with the release of Warrior Within. I remember the trailer played a heavy metal track for it 'I Stand Alone'. Fantastic video as always :)

    I love how the main version is clearly what assassins cread would ended up as. Sadly the heritage has been dragged through the mud a little with the later AC games but the building blocks were clearly there from the very beginning

    i actually played the warrior within on the PS2 first and later played the sands of time on the PC
    i was blown away with how different TSOT is and how, in many ways, it is a better game overall.
    and, of course, the elephant in the room is how much more likeable the prince was on TSOT. he's got one of those nightwing/dick grayson personality vibes going on.
    one of the best action-adventure game ever.

      lol never thought about it but he really does have a nightwing vibe going on, i do think warrior within was still enjoyable but i agree the first game was better overall, the two thrones was also good, especially the ending, but the first was the best at least storywise

    It's weird looking at back at the 1st Ubisoft Prince of Persia game and seeing just how much color it had compared to it's sequels. Like the rest were just so brown and gray whereas this one had so many beautiful blues, reds, and even gold!

    • @rikamayhem
      @rikamayhem ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To be fair they were following (dumb) industry trends. Many colorful and kid-friendly games from that era got sequels targeting edgy and horny teenagers. Off the top of my head, compare Rayman 3 and Jak 2 to the previous games (which I still have fond memories of, but holy cow).

    • @larrylaffer3246
      @larrylaffer3246 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rikamayhem Yeah the the 2010's were the brown and pea soup era of gaming. Different Strokes but I really liked the tonal shift of the Jak games myself. 3 especially as it improved on what 2 started, especially the vehicle control as I believe that's why they made X Combat Racing not to long after. Rayman was a weird case as it went through a reverse tonal shift as after 3: Hoodlum Havok, as The Rabids one came out not too long after it and they essentially abandoned Rayman for a good long time until they brought him back for the Origins and Legends games which was a nice return to form "with a different art style of course".

    If you're going to do Warrior Within, look at the iOS version from 2010. It's the only version that will let you throw your secondary weapon while standing on beams, making it the easiest version, and debatably the best version if you can get past the controls.
    Also, I think that you would like Battles: Prince of Persia and it would also suit your channel, as it is a pretty decent strategy game on the DS that has a few massive flaws in card collecting and game performance, but is still a good strategy game at its core.

    @deathcold_longplaysua4846 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Oh heck yeah! I played the sands of time and the rest of it's games. But not as a kid but as a teenager. Cause as a kid, I was stuck with NES and Sega Mega Drive, and since 2007 I started to play on PC, which is where I tried Prince of Persia. But, I started with Two Thrones first, and only then played Sands of Time and Warrior Within. I also played Java versions of Warrior Within and Two Thrones, but never seen java version of Sands of Time until few years ago. The same with every other version. But I only played main games on PC. But, I will be honest with you. I don't like Sands of Time because, there is tons of stuff that I don't like. Like many levels design, useless AI partner (Farah), time slowdown mechanic that is not working as it should and the last part of the game, where they took all your abilities and give you one sword to fight your way through. And without cheating, beating that last segment is freaking impossible. I could not do it then, and I could not do it now. Thus, my favorite of the sands trilogy i still remains Warrior Within. With it's gothic atmosphere, heavy metal soundtrack from Godsmack and insane gore! It's a hard game, but it is fair and more varied, AND it is work on the mistakes from the first game. And Two Thrones... well, it's not bad. Not as good as second game, nor as bad as the first game, thus somewhere in the middle. It's like Warrior Within, but more cartoony and for kids. Thus, in my opinion, if anyone wants great Prince of Persia, play Warrior Within. It is the best out of three. Two Thrones is worth to checking out, but don't expect much from it, and Sands of Time... well, forget about it. Unless they finish that stupid remaster and release it, fixing terrible game design and those things that makes OG game bad.

    I hardly ever hear mention of the GBA version of this game. Despite owning both the GameCube and GBA versions, I've only ever beaten it on Game Boy Advance. A perfectly solid little game, if nothing spectacular.

    Makes me sad how the new game is getting hate just because it is not 3D.
    I remember playing the Java version on a Motorola Pebl.

    All I really remember of this game was thinking it was a very slow striptease, as the prince removes his clothing over the course of many hours.

    Whoa whoa hang on a minute- don't the different console versions have different unlockables as extras? That's what I came here to find out!

    Even TSOT got sidescroller versions lol, i don't get why ppl is so annoyed with the new POP Ubisoft just announced, it just went back to it's origins and the "fans" don't like it being a sidescroller like did y'all even played a POP besides TSOT in your life??

    its funny, i played prince of persia the sands of time in the wrong order... i remember playing the mobile phone game as a kid first and loving it... my dad got me in from the t mobile store for my nec phone and just loving it... i then played the GBA version afterwards before finally playing and completing it on ps2, but yeah thanks for bringing back the memories... the mobile version looks so bland compared to what i remember playing it as a kid
