    Like your informative videos which don't compare everything to a VW Golf!
    I have a Civic 1.0 cv t SR and it is a very capable car with loads of standard equipment unlike some other car manufacturers,the 1.6 diesel now comes with a 9 speed auto not a CV T like the petrol versions.

      Raymond Hunt thank you, you’ll be happy to know we’ve the 9 Speed Diesel coming in just over a week and a half.

    They dialed down the personality of the hatchback to make it look as bland as possible. No aggressiveness, it just looks dull and boring front and back, and that trunk opening is a huge downgrade. Big mistake of a version, although I see how a more boring car will appeal to more people, just like every other dull thing on the road

    The saloon is far more attractive at the back than the hatch.

      The hatchback was over designed, but at least it was different, it had a personality that you would either love or hate, but this saloon, they dialed it down so much it's boring, it leaves me completely indifferent, and that's unforgivable nowadays

    I am looking at the EX Model 4 door saloon 1.6 idtec with the 9 speed automatic gearbox. Having driven the older model with 1.6 diesel engine you will get a lot more than 55mpg from it without trying hard, On the previous model with the same engine I regularly drove from my house to Carnoustie (100 miles each way) and I regularly got 84mpg at 65mph on cruise control. Why did you make a comparison to Nissan Micra & Ford Fiesta, as they are small family cars while the civic is a medium sized family car. If you compare it to the Ford Focus you get a lot more for your money in the Honda. I think you are insulting the engine by saying performance is capable/acceptable I have always found this engine to be very responsive ( for a diesel) when you need it.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ronnie Brown we got 55 mpg driving spiritedly and said you’d achieve higher on an eco run, that’s the mpg we got, and that’s good as we said. We didn’t compare it to a smaller car we said you get a well kitted out car for the price of spec’d up small car, meaning you get great value for money, which we think is a good thing.

    • @ronniebrown6225
      @ronniebrown6225 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PlanetautoUK I would not call 100 miles at 65mph an eco run. I have they day an eco run is 56mph

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ronnie Brown an eco run for the guys is not having floored and unnecessarily changing gears, putting it under load etc, we will only quote the mpg we achieved. That 9mph in today’s modern engines doesn’t make that much of a difference as 74 miles an hour isn’t the gas guzzling economy it used to be, granted in the Civic ek9 it was. Our ej9 Civic likely gets around 25mpg and we should get 40plus.

    • @ronniebrown6225

      @@PlanetautoUK so they did an eco run my run to Carnoustie and back was a real world smooth drive. Keeping up with traffic but still driving smoothly and correctly as I always do as a professional driver.

    Guys have you heard that Honda are thinking about getting rid of the CVT drive and replacing it with a DCT drive, I was told this by a Honda mechanic in a dealership. Personally I think it will make a big difference though I would like to see a DCT drive in the 1.6 Idtec Auto rather than the standard auto gearbox.

      Thank you, I’m sure we heard something a few months ago, it would certainly be interesting to see how it acts with the iVTEC.
