- Cruise Passengers Ruin Glacier Bay Alaska. Glacier Bay Alaska is one of the most calming areas on earth. Surrounded by natural beauty and pristine waters. One just basks in the sites and sounds of Glacier Bay. Unless your cabin is beside these people.

This isn’t a rant....this is FACTS! Some people have NO consideration for others around them!
Shelly Harris exactly!! When your actions encroach on the enjoyment of others or even deny them that enjoyment , it’s not a rant it’s an explanation of frustration. Those are cruising nightmare neighbors.
Agreed but it is these are facts. Stupid slang isn't an excuse for poor grammar. Poor grammar is just as bad as poor manners.
He could of just gone to another part of the boat
Ingrid Dubbel “Agreed but it is these are facts” 😂
Venice Beach Sports Network, his cabin was right next to them. Should he have to switch cabins to get away from them? How about all the people in other nearby cabins? If people want to play their loud shitty music they should wait until they get home.
The moment it started, you should have simply contacted security to deal with it.
And with your media platform the management should wary of ignoring you.
I agree, call security. I was on the Alaska cruise the same week. Different ship, and it was so peaceful!
COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN.....let them move them or you.....
No security?
L Santiago - Hey all. I assessed security on Princess Cruise two separate times. First, only one out of five really spoke with me. Reason why is they have no real training. Not effective peace officer type training you would believe they have. Think California security guard trained. Most are not from the United States. I suspect poor pay and benefits might be the reason. But responding to in cabin peace disturbance might not happen at all. Ethnic cultural people can scare hell out of peace keepers of all brands these days. Each room has a passenger manifest I’m most sure can be accessed by onboard security. This to my estimate could affect how to or NOT too manage the complaint.
Without writing a book, the cruise line in no way shape or form wants to initiate potential trouble in the making passengers angry. After all, this is how “They Live” back and fourth it goes. Sometimes its unwinnable, neither the complainant or the non-speaking Enwish will be satisfied. Such behavior is to them, normal! Manners? What dat to you white boy huh? You shut up and go lay down. 🤧
This is probably the nicest and most polite rant I've seen on TH-cam.
And I completely agree with you.
When I took my cruise to Glacier Bay, one of the announcements they made was to show respect to your fellow passengers and turn all music off or use headphones while in the bay. They enforced it too. I guess the crew of that ship had this problem before and wanted to avoid having to deal with rude people trying to refuse by saying they were never told to keep the noise down.
It’s never ok to play music on a cruise’s balcony. No matter the destination. You want a party atmosphere, go to the pool area. Sorry that you had your moment ruined. ❤️🚢
Playing music is not a party atmosphere. Playing music loudly is unacceptable. I have a Bluetooth speaker and play music from my iPod on my balcony, but keep the volume very low. If I hear others, I check to see if it bothers them and they can't hear it at all. So, enjoying music on my balcony is something I do and it doesn't bother anyone. It can be done.
U are right!
Loud music played on the balcony is inappropriate and rude no matter where the ship is cruising.
OMGosh! I couldnt agree more.
Exactly! You shouldn't impose that on anyone. It's so selfish and inconsiderate. If you want to play music then close your balcony door. And still be mindful of it not being too loud if you have closed your doors.
I totaly agree ! Rude AF !
SAlly williams We has a bunch of loud I presume Jamaican people next to us talking loud all night they kept me up all night. I paid good money for a suite on the ship and they ruined the whole experience for me. Bad on carnival for putting a cheap balcony cabin next to a suite.
@@truckerpete3595 So all you did was be frustrated and vent online? Why did you not call and complain when something could have actually been done about it? As far as I'm concerned if you did not complain then...then you have little right to complain now. If you called and nothing was done about it then I would certainly go public with your complaints with the particular cruise line/ship. If you didn't complain then just quit whining.
People should be considerate and more aware of their surroundings for sure, but if all you did was lay in bed, listen, and complain weeks or months later then you are just as much of the problem as the people making the noise. Why do so many people just let rude stuff slide and then complain later?
In terms and conditions for my cruises it is stated that anyone ruining the experience for other cruisers is subject to being taken off the ship. So yes, say something.
Good info
One time on a cruise I complained of noise from the balcony next to mine and was told that, "It's their cruise, too"! So it can be a vicious circle, open to whomever's interpretation! But to have Glacier Bay ruined, there is no excuse for that kind of inconsideration! I hope this will not happen on my trip in Aug/Sept that I have been waiting so long for. My first time to Glacier Bay, so praying it will not.
@@barbaraguy3491 DO NOT contact the other folks directly. Ask the staff to witness the noise and let them deal with it. You have no idea what kind of ill-mannered nutjob you could be dealing with..
@@spikespa5208 That was the response from the guest services desk--sorry I was not clear. No, I did not talk to the noise makers. Your advice to have them come and hear for themselves is good! I'll do that next time.
A little Pantera or Metallica at 1 AM should solve the problem.
I totally agree with you, Don. There's a time and a place for everything, and Glacier Bay is not the time nor place for loud (and bad) music.
I agree!
I don’t even want to hear music from the next room even if I were on a tropical cruise. If I want to hear party music, I can go to the lido or the club.
You are NOT wrong at all. Some people just have NO consideration for anyone's well being except for themselves. I've seen this while camping locally in Los Angeles County where people play Cisco Kid by WAR at Maximum volume. There was a bunch of them and I wanted to tell them to shut the heck up. Grrrr. I say contact the authorities on the ship. If that's not effective, then confront them directly and tell them to turn their stupid music down! I can't stand that. Sometimes you have to escalate the response so they UNDERSTAND. 😡😡😡😡😡
I agree whith you.why did you maje a complene. That is disrespectful for the People near by on the cruce.
I had not yet seen anything from this man, and I have been splitting a gut ever since! Thank you!!
You are right. No one should be rude. Everyone wants to relax and enjoy their cruise; which could be a once in a lifetime thing for some people.
I personally think it is never acceptable to blast music on your balcony. I don't want to hear *your* choice of "music."
And it's always people who have abominable taste in music .
Exactly!
My husband has kept a few CDs of very early bluegrass music. It got better as it matured and some of the earliest recordings were not as well received by too many people. When we had noisy neighbors who would not turn down their 0200 party, he took speakers outside or in windows near their place before he went to bed and loaded the player with the least popular music. He would turn it on at 0700 to wake the offender. Other neighbors who heard it would come out and applause or call with appreciation. The people who could hear ours were disturbed by the party and if it ‘disturbed ‘ them, they probably also had to be at work early. I used to be embarrassed and appalled at my husband but saw and heard the appreciation and noticed that I didn’t ever hear of a repeat offender.
AMEN to that!!!
@@ghost-ez2zn tell me about it. That's my life long complaint.
Go get the new squirt bottle that's a mistier at a beauty supply store. Took mine for my hair and every time when my fellow passengers next door were to loud I went and got the bottle and started to misty over the wall. They went inside saying how misty the ocean was! The misty bottle I bought was at Sally's beauty supply.
Hahaha! I am so copying this! 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good tip. Also best laugh I have had all week!
🤣🤣
So clever!!!!
It always amazes me how people who play loud music assume others (including me) want to listen to it as much as they do. No respect!!
Nope!! You are not wrong Don ..I would go nuts !!
Absotively
Happens all the time at the pool. Someone will start playing loud annoying music on their cell phones. Very inconsiderate of others.
Nope not wrong!! Very disrespectful!
When it comes to music I try to listen discreetly because people have different feelings over it.
I would have said something to security or a naturalist. We had people feeding the gulls 3 weeks ago when in Glacier Bay and the ranger actually said over the speaker "Those guests on the starboard side, stop feeding the wildlife, it's prohibited." It was great to hear as many of us on our balconies were telling them to stop and I think there was a language barrier. They did end up stopping.
I love this video, there’s just something about seeing ‘mild mannered Don’ having a rant that makes me smile 😃
Every affected cabin around them needs to call the front desk and complain.
but I bet they cant do much about that.....because they are inside their cabin.
So other then asking for them to turn the music down, the crew cant do much else!
@@maxnoerenberg6370 A noise disturbance? They can confiscate the radio and solve the issue. The cruise is in charge.
@@maxnoerenberg6370 I think you're wrong about that.
I am so sorry you encountered that. I t was not okay that they did that. Very selfish of them...
@@Mahaney82 No they cannot, I'm a cruise line international host, meaning my job is to take care of people that don't speak english (in my case French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian), whenever we get noise complaints, all we can do is ask the guest making noise to tone it down, if they're inside their room, there's not much we can do besides keep bothering them until they decide to stop, but if they're doing this in a public hall, then yeah, we might be able to do some stuff there.
I completely agree. The point of getting a balcony is to enjoy the ambiance of the outdoors. You're there to relax and take in the peaceful sights and sounds. Don't let it continue to ruin your trip call security.
I agree with your rant 100%! We head to Alaska in September. Crossing my fingers for quiet neighbors.
Call front desk?
just report bad neighbors
Im heading there Sept 10!
So do I ,I may see you ! I will be on the Star Princess .
Carol Johnson I’m going in September on HAL!
I feel your pain. This is not ranting at all. We had a balcony and our next neighbor left their balcony door open and you can hear their tv and their big mouth. My husband knocked at their door to them to close the balcony door or be quiet. Well, he is a big guy like a football player, so we didn’t hear a word from them after that. Sorry for what you had to deal with.
This is a trip of a lifetime . What a bunch of tossers . They are on the wrong cruise. I would be livid. This is so understandable. I would be so upset.
Completely agree with you.
... in the travelers defense they may have not realized ... they may have been PUT on the cruise ... call the front desk ...
It’s like wearing Camouflage shorts in the Caribbean who knew ... but don’t wear em...
I agree with you Don. You should not suffer in silence. Call security and guest services immediately. Loud music on a balcony is intolerable. Don't suffer in silence (pun intended).
We went on our first Alaska Cruise last year. If I'd had to listen to that at Glacier Bay my head would have exploded!
Oh I know how to get revenge. On one cruise I had an adjoining door with my neighbor that was locked. In the middle of the night after they left the bars the came into their cabin, yelling, screaming, laughing and shaking the door handle in between our cabins. About 10:00 in the morning when they were fast asleep, or passed out I walked all over the ship picking up the phones and dialing their cabin number. You know how loud those phones are. I kept it up all morning.
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
👍👍👍
Excellent
I love the sound of the glacier cracking!
I so agree with you! I just came back from an Alaskan cruise, went to Glacier Bay, and people were talking on their balconies even after the park person said over the PA that we should all be quiet to hear the sounds of the glaciers cracking. Someone was playing music, too. Some people are really inconsiderate and rude, which I know, but man, we're in mother nature, just stop talking, no one wants to hear your conversations. Thanks for posting, I hope you get to enjoy your next cruise more :)
You're an extremely tolerant person, Don. My wife wouldn't put up with that even for 5 minutes. She would have the Captain and a bunch of security people banging on their door, I kid you not.
...you're wife sounds amazing!!!!
Some people are just idiot's. A crew member should have corrected that problem immediately.
Don....I agree.....but I wouldn't want them to play that on ANY cruise....I'd be FURIOUS and would call guest services!
I was lucky enough to experience the majesty of Glacier Bay back in the 90's with a large group of passengers on deck. Besides the sound of the ice cracking, or calving, there was only the sound of everyone's zoom lens going in and out! I can't imagine you're balcony neighbors oblivious to that.
I'm glad his trip was ruined lol. This is a precious and peaceful environment and he is not considering the devastating effect of these commercial cruise ships on the environment!
The cruise ship industry dumps fuel and trash in very fragile ecosystems. They don't respect fuel regulations (and use a fuel that's like 5x more polluting than the one used in planes!) and the dust from the fuel sticks to glaciers and accelerating their melting.
They often hit whales and other water mammals (which kills them), are very noisy (which disturbs the signals by which whales communicate with each othe) and disturb the fishing waters of small communities that cannot survive without fishing. Alaska is beautiful and I get why people want to go there....but these gigantic cruise ships are simply horrible in terms of impact
If you care so much about about nature...Dont buy tickets and get on these cruise ships. Ps. climate change is warming the South and North pole at a terrifying pace. The carbon footprint of cruise ships is simply awful. It sucks but, youre not any better than that lady.

I feel you on this, I'm sorry that happened to you! Ugh that is so infuriating! People are so loud and rude like the people that blast their t.v. with their windows open at my apartment complex!
Don’t bother with customer service. Contact security immediately. That division of the crew has zero problems with throwing people off the ship for exactly this.
It’s extraordinarily disrespectful to the entire ship and the environment to pull that kind of nonsense. Alaskan cruises are for experiencing the views, the climate, the local flora and fauna. It’s not like the Caribbean or the Mediterranean or the Atlantic. It’s unique and special. And they’re destroying the experience for everyone.
@Ganz Bestimmt he shouldn’t have to. Shit isn’t cheap, he didn’t pay to listen to a bunch of shit he could have listened to in downtown Chicago
I totally agree that it was disrespectful of other passengers and the environment you were in.
Yes, I feel the frustration in your voice! But in all honesty, you have every reason to be frustrated.
When you are sharing a common space it is very important that you respect the other people who share with you.
I would have flipped and yell shut the 🦆 up. It takes a lot for me to get upset but omg I would have lost it. Lol
What about earbuds? Man overboard!!They must of slipped into the sea or safe boat. 🤔😉

@@claudiariedel5777 I agree. I like to go sit on the balcony by myself sometimes for peace and quiet. And if I want to listen to music, I put on my ear buds. I don't assume my neighbors wish to listen to my music along with me.
You and me, Natasha!
Don, truly, it's heartbreaking how others are clueless. You are right. 1. 2005 cruise to Glacier Bay we had our first balcony and realized we were on the SMOKING SIDE. The stench of cigars in that pristine environment. Ugh! 2. Small 12 person van tour of Scotland, four English speakers, 8 loud Chinese chit-chatting because they don't understand the tour guide. He straightened them out. 3. Always speak out, perhaps let desktop so changes can be made. Oh, and Don, if you ever book one of those hidden poolside suites, the running track is riiiiiight above you and they start early!
Carnival is banning bluetooth speakers.. good move
that is a GREAT move
All need to follow suit .
@Helen Hines I use a white noise app on my phone
@Helen Hines I also take a loud fan with me. I hear nothing over the white noise from the phone and the fan. It's wonderful.
@Helen Hines You're the person in the video here.
Don you are nicer than I am. I would have already called security and complained.
Same
Absolutely!!!!! I would have complained for sure!! And Don I probably would have jumped over to their balcony and smashed that thing to pieces!!!!
same
Same!
The things is, would security or ship's officer deem this kind of occurrence something that they should stop? I hope they do ... but I wonder ......
Certainly, if there are a whole bunch of guests voicing their grievance, then yes, I imagine someone would look into the matter; but if it was just me complaining, then I am not too sure these jerks would be warned.
No you are not wrong. It is the whole dumbing down of social niceties.
Walk down to guest services, explain that you run a cruise travel blog and that the a-holes beside you are ruining your experience.
CP140405 Yes! I would add that if they do nothing you will escalate your complaint to the upper management. I would also go to those neighbors and tell them to NOT play music on the balcony as it is very disrespectful to all the passengers on this side of the boat and to this environmentally protected place. And if they don’t turn it down, tell them you are going to lodge a complaint against them to the Passenger Services Dept or to Security. I’ll bet that those threats would scare them into turning off their music.
The "do you know who I am" argument would of worked
No Don. You are not wrong. I feel sorry that you couldn’t enjoy the glaciers the way you wanted to. Try to ask the management if they persist and maybe they can get involved.
The cruise line should take action against the loud people.
They do have the right to listen to music, but they Do Not have the right to annoy their neighbors.
The security staff has authority to tell them to Stop Now!!
Don, get used to it. People no longer have respect or consideration. Nowadays it's just me, Me, ME! I was actually taught respect, manners, and consideration in school, as well as at home. So sad the way the world is going.
Yes, having Couth and Ruth are absotively a seldom observed thing now. HUGS and blessings for ALL. Hope things calm down asap
I hate what the passengers were doing but what you're saying is just like what every other person that's noy young says. Even back then people said.
@ Joseph LaCerra
You are so right about people of now-a-days, and they are everywhere, not just on vacation or on cruise ships!
Just today, my 90-year-old mom and I were waiting for the bus. At the bus stop, there were a line of people already waiting, including a couple elderly persons sitting on the bench. A Latino man and his child came up to the line as the bus approached us, he was trying to usher his child onto the bus (while stepping all over my sandal-clad feet), cutting ahead of all the people, including the senior citizens, who were already waiting long before he and his child came!
Well, it's not hard to imagine why each successive generation is getting more and more inconsiderate, ill-mannered, and disrespectful ... just look at what this Latino parent was teaching his child!
ExtraordinaryLiving Based on my observations it seems like Asians and Latino/Latinas are the rudest people out there and I hear your story often.
I agree with you. John Herald just announced that Bluetooth speakers are being banned from public spaces on Carnival cruises for just the same reasons. Use headphones, people!
I'm glad to hear that. I'm surprised that hasn't been in place for a long long time. It shouldn't be necessary, but maybe a list of common etiquette practices should be framed and on the walls inside each room. One of the biggest ones would be cutting in line. But again, it should not be necessary.
We had a wonderful neighbor 2 doors down talking loud and laughing "blah..blah ..mira, ..." at the glaciers. I get you, we had the same experience 2 days ago here on Ovations of the Sea.
We need a translator. I want to know what they were talking about
Yes and have an app. that identifies their language and you can reply to them in their language! Like "Quiet please, the ice is cracking off, listen"! Include this language app in your travels in future?!
They were speaking Hindi and listening to old Bollywood music from the 60s and 70s.
Call the front desk. Complain. You are not in the wrong.
Why bother, just call them them from any house phone and remind them that balcony doors must be kept closed.
Anyone who does something wrong like this, simply call them, almost no one ever calls other people but staff so
they will just assume they are being told by staff to do something. If they persist then call the front desk....
If it was a real annoyance, call them from the house phone and request they immediately report to the front desk.
that will have them in line 30 minutes and give you some quality quiet time.
So why didn't you and the other nearby passengers say something to the ship crew?
Jenny Lee It’s obvious that many other passengers complained. He said they changed cabins. The crew should have approached the noisy people. If the cruise line confiscated clothes steamers, they should be able to confiscate speakers that are being used inappropriately.
Thats wat i would've did. I would've reported them
@@janicekambarn1163 So funny, I just had my steamer taken (stolen) by Carnival last week, bc who is going to take the time to pick up a $10 steamer on the day of debarkation

Ann Throckmorton seriously? “Mexicans can party like no others...”. OMG that is so racist. For one thing how do you know they are Mexican? They could be Americans, Cubans, Dominicans, Puerto Rican etc etc. I personally have found Mexican people to be just as well mannered and polite as anybody else. But there are rude people everywhere. It has nothing to do with their culture. You should remove your comment. This is just not the kind of place where it is okay to show bigotry. Don isn’t that kind of person.
@@kated2847 I am an avid cruiser... this may trigger folks, this is MY PERSONAL OBSERVATION 14 cruises so far, 4 times out of San Juan Puerto Rico , 4 cape Canaveral, FL 3 New Jersey, and 3 Galveston Texas .Sorry but of all the cruises I have been on, the Puerto Ricans were BY FAR the rudest , their kids yelling/crying during the shows and they won't leave, until the cruise director tells them to get out kindly. One mother started yelling at the cruise director. Their children were pushing Senior citizens to get where ever they were going, parents nowhere to be seen. You're right Carolyn!... "Pawed the Buns"😂🤣😂
This is my life in Florida. Exactly what you’re explaining.
Had a Thai family next to us. The oldest son liked to sing on his balcony and play music at 1 am. I slept through it the first night (husband didn’t). The second night I went out and scared him and told him about himself and to get in his cabin. No issues the rest of the time! But people don’t realize how loud it is for the people in their rooms
If customer service won't do something about it are wait until about 2, 3 in the morning and I would make sure that they don't get any sleep
RidetheWingwlk,
As long as you can do it with not bothering anyone else, go for it. Unfortunately, these idiots would probably call security ASAP, and we wouldn’t want our Don to get in any trouble. If there was a way he could get away with it, I’d be all for it.
RidetheWingwlk
😂 haha
No doubt, that loud, horrendous 'music' carried across the quiet & peaceful bay and could be heard on the other side of the ship, across the water.... Is there a reason you couldn't or wouldn't let Customer Service Desk know? An official warning from the cruise line should have some effect. I am sure others were upset by it and may have already complained so the more voices the better. It will most likely happen again...maybe even at night or early in the morning. There are too many inconsiderate morons walking this earth. I, too, would have been livid & would do everything in my power to not let them ruin my cruise!
Don, you are 100% correct. There should be certain geographic areas where outside music is NOT allowed and there should also be a rule that passenger's cannot exceed a set noise level at any time. In a place like Glacier Bay there should be zero tolerance for any outside noise because certain loud noises have an adverse effect on the wildlife in the area. Also, have those idiots blasting the loud music ever heard of headphones?
San Bruno Beacon- But any rules and restrictions need to be communicated by the cruise line, so if the cruise has a eco centric theme with unique restrictions, then a customer needs to acknowledge that before putting their money down. In that way it protects the enjoyment of the majority of passengers. I know what you're going to say, "it should be common sense", you're right, IT SHOULD. But, as Don clearly has shown, ........................
I agree with you 100%!!!!! Couldn’t someone from the cruise line do something about it? We try our hardest not to have an impact on anyone else’s vacation. We make sure we don’t even put the TV too loud!!
I definitely would’ve complained about It And wouldn’t have stopped complaining until Something with Done about it
If people want to listen to music then get ear buds or something - no one else should have to listen to it.
I totally agree with you Don! I was on an Alaskan cruise a couple of years ago & experienced the same exact thing with my neighbors while in Glacier Bay. It was an incredible waste.
You are absolutely right! Calling security would be my first move. The cruise line should ban any type of boom boxes or stereos from being brought on board.
We were in Glacier Bay 2 years ago on Princess and did not have that experience. Of course, no one was out on their balcony because the weather was so rotten. Everyone was indoors someplace. It was like that for 4 of the 7 days. It was the first week of July. Then again this year, the first week of June, 4 of the 7 days no one went out on deck or on their balconies, because it was so windy, wet, and cold. Thankfully we are done with cruises to Alaska.
You aren't wrong at all. Soon as I heard that shit I would call security.
Glacier Bay was magnificent and it’s unfortunate that it was ruined by these inconsiderate folks. I totally agree with you on this.
Won't be there for long, either!

The police investigators have found something bizarre which may explain the disappearance of an entire middle eastern family from an Alaskan cruise ship. When they listened to the tape on the boombox in slow mode, there was a subliminal message on the tape telling them all to jump off the balcony. And so they did. Ta - da!

I would've definitely been pissed! The cruise line now need to ban boom boxes on cruises, or fine people who play it so loud that people 6 decks below can hear. That was ridiculous😡
Agreed boom boxes should be banned
It could’ve been one of those small speakers you can connect to a Bluetooth. Those are very loud as well. I say ban it all. If you cannot keep the level of music that you can enjoy and it’s a disturbance to others, kick them off the ship.
chulita097, I agree. It’s likely one of those small Bluetooth speakers. I’m using mine right now; at my house at a low volume. I have no idea why they would blast them out.
If the cruise line did nothing, I would potentially resort to playing something annoying out on my balcony. I would point my speakers at their deck/room. Or I would have a fake conversation on my phone. Or I would try to ruin every instagram video they took by shouting out when they take them. And I would figure out who they were and publicly shame them on the cruise ship and on Cruise Critic.

I don’t blame you for being upset, as I would have, too. Not only is it inconsiderate of those onboard the ship, but there are restrictions on ships cruising Alaska, with regard to loud music. It can be detrimental to the wildlife in the area. I’d have turned them in within 10 seconds flat.

Great video, as always. I think you are 100% right! How people can be so annoying???! And ruin such beautiful moments that you don´t enjoy every day!
...looking to hear the update on this. Hopefully security upgraded their room to the engine bay! Unacceptable!
T Wize I agree with you!!! Just returned from that trip last week ....as a whole the cruise was wonderful. we also had noise neighbors on one side of balcony our friends were on the other side. Not loud music but loud voices, that our quiet party of 6 older folks thought was quite annoying. This trip through Glacier Bay is a very breathtaking experience and our neighbors weren’t on the balcony at the time...
I am too 😊
You're right! I would have contacted security right away. They were inexcusably rude. I hope the rest of your cruise is better.
Sure would be a shame if you were trying to stretch and the speaker fell off
Some people have no respect for others. I am sorry you had this experience in Glacier Bay. No one should have their music on that loud on the balcony anytime. I hope things get better for you for the rest of the cruise.
Don… I'd be bloody livid. Did you talk to the cruise staff?
A call to the cruise staff is in order to inquire whether the loud music is appropriate or not at that instance. And see if the cruise staff does anything timely to rectify the situation.
Don - Loud music or loud conversation on the balcony is NEVER acceptable as far as I'm concerned
I agree 100% !!
I did this cruise 2017 - on Coral Princess - I went down to deck 7 at the stern of the ship, there was no one else there - it was amazing to watch the Glazier cracking and falling off into the water. Watching the birds and other animals as well, it was so peaceful. I know what you mean by how passengers can ruin it for other passengers.
I freaking love Don's rants
Come to think of it, what's wrong with the CREW? It should've been obvious to them that having to move that many people to elsewhere on the ship warranted their interrupting the noise.
nairbvel dont they have ears?
There are rude & disrespectful people in all walks of life. I’m glad you showed this video, maybe some offenders who watch your videos will be more aware of how they negatively impact others vacations.
No, they never think it's"them" who are the problem.
Oh my!! I'm going on my first Alaskan cruise, and I pray others around us are respectful!! So sorry that happened to you!!
The captain should let them off at the next port and they can figure out how to get home from there.
I was thinking of taking a cruise, but I'm not paying to listen to that.
I was going to take a cruise to Alaska because of the quiet and serenity, thanks for the tip and changing my mind!
Always carry fart spray... problem solved ..
😂
Only works if the offender's balcony is aft of yours.
Spike's Pa good point ...
What a great ldea
These people probably smell worse than the fart spray, it wouldn't work..
They were rude and low class. You should’ve complained to security.
IT AMAZE ME, PEOPLE, LIKE YOU STILL BELIEVE IN " PEOPLE CLASS". YOUR ATTITUDE SHALL BE REPORTED TOOO.
Good point
Indeed
Low class??? Get a grip please KAREN , I'd blast my music all day just to piss YOU off.
You are right Don ,Love your shows
The awser is fly into Gustavus Alaska, stay at the Glacier Bay Lodge. The boat rides to all the glaciers and the whale watching is 100 feet to the dock. The boat rides are absolutely precious.
Hi Don,
So sorry to hear this. We've had a few "I can't believe these folks" moments too. Of course by all means I would let your Stateroom folks know (you can't be the only one). Hope it gets better. Our next is in two weeks....just keeping my fingers crossed that we have respectful neighbors. Keep us posted. Love your channel.
I absolutely agree with you. Have some respect!
Oh. Sorry to hear that. :-( 'Quiet nature' can be awe-inspiring, as we have recently discovered. You are not wrong. 'A moment' missed.
When approaching places like this the captain should put out over the tannoy asking people to please keep the noise down so that passengers can hear all the amazing sounds coming up.
We had out of control teachers kids running wild on one of our cruises. During their summer break - and didn’t want to be bothered by controlling them and they also disrupted shore excursions by being out of control. We found out from the ship - that they cause problems every summer they were off.
