Cutting oat crops at right stage

That is the wrong stage to cut oats for dry hay lol needs to be earlier

why?

Very hard to dry down in the milk stage, and also after it’s cut the plant will still send what’s left of the moisture it has to the seeds and they will most likely fill to the hard dough stage, leaving the stem of the plant very unpalatable and basically like straw.
