Very hard to dry down in the milk stage, and also after it’s cut the plant will still send what’s left of the moisture it has to the seeds and they will most likely fill to the hard dough stage, leaving the stem of the plant very unpalatable and basically like straw.
Could you explain why it matters when you harvest oats for hay, whether its earlier or later.

@@Amaranthian450 facts, we cut ours early boot stage right before the milk stage.
