Nice job, looks like that fence will do the trick!
Horses are a serious problem and need effective fencing to keep them off your property.
Hot wire will really help to save your stabs from getting eaten by marauding equines.

Hello, thank you for the video but I have many questions....
What brand fence did you use?
What size fence did you use (height/length)?
How far off the ground should you place the fence?
What size (diameter/length) post did you use?
How far should you space the fence posts?
What are the main differences (pros/cons) between the No Climb & V - Mesh fencing beside pricing?

@@kwithaj559 -------- Thank you for your reply, even 4 years later! We ended up using 60" Bekaert Gaucho fencing 2x4 non-climb horse fencing, Class III galvanized wire, guaranteed for 40 years. Super expensive but very very worth it! We spaced the 800 fence posts about 10 feet apart, turned out great! Now that its up, I couldn't imagine using ANY shorter type fence other than 60 inches! You literally NEVER have to worry about your animals getting out or predators getting in!

@@jp3eku you have the recommended 6-inch gap at the bottom of the fence - not sure what predators you're referring to but they will get in that fence if they want to (coyotes can dig under and jump over that fence with ease, raccoon can dig under, haven't seen a cougar or black bear in E. Lansing in a while)

Wood chewing does occur at times and is normal like nibbling on tree bark for certain nutrients at certain times of the year. However, other forms of wood chewing are behavioral issues that man has caused.

we are getting ready to replace our no climb fencing due to horses pushing on it and the bottom lifting up with loose wires all over. How do we prevent this with no climb? If we put the hot wire on the top they will still rub in the middle and push out at the bottom correct?

Run a hot wire next time and do more fence maintenance had ours for 20 years and still looks good have cows and horses in it

Look at stand offs for hot wire, they sit about 30cms off the fence so the horses will stay off it, really easy to install and cheap

If you put your fence on the inside how did u get your corners tight?

    • @olympiad013
      @olympiad013 3 ปีที่แล้ว

You tie the mesh off on each corner, it's not one continuous roll

Don't have to worry about what side of the post you have the fencing on if you're using a hot wire you fool

What a Dbag comment to make. It’s still prudent to place the wire on the inside of the post so that in the event that a horse spooks or the electric is disrupted it is still capable of withstanding the weight and strength of the horse with the load being carried by the posts rather than the staples you fool.
