- Mega Jay Retro Soul of Chogokin GX-20 Getter Poseidon Collectible die cast toy by Ban Dai Toys. Released in December of 2003, these collectable toys feature die cast and plastic parts. Ball Joints for multiple pose possibilities, and multiple accessories.
This is one of Jay's favourite Cartoon and Anime Series growing up, and he discusses the Toy almost 30 years later. This is an extensive review of the Getter Poseidon aka Star Poseidon figure which was featured on the Starvengers TV series of the 1980s and the 1970s Getter robo series in Japan.

Awesome vid! I collect the SOC that are related to Force Five so I can personally attest to the awesomeness of the Dragon, Poseidon, and Arrow. The cool thing is when you have the other two, you can clip the three ship stands together so they're one on top of the other kind of like when they launch from the lab. I bought those when they were still relatively new so I paid reasonable prices for them. Now the asking price is just ridiculous. There's also Danguard Ace, Grendizer, and Gaiking in the SOC series!
Hey @SmoothGuyTO its great to hear from a fellow Force Five Collector! I've got the other two reviews of Star Arrow and Star Dragon coming! Yeah unfortunately when something becomes less available, the prices start to rise considerably. I was also lucky to get them when I did. Funny you should mention those other figures haha those reviews are coming :D

35 years later and I still remember all the sticky, little-kid hand prints I must have left on the fogged-up cases containing these toy masterpieces. I was never able to afford any of them then. My single Mom (bless her heart) passed-out every time she looked at the tag Hehehe! But here I am, all those years later still wanting that GX-18 or Deluxe Grendizer with UFO. I think the time is here for the story to come full-circle. What is your opinion on UFO Robot Grendizer Legacy of Revoltech LR-056 Grendizer? It seems like a good deal for my price range and I'd be interested to know what you think. The only other obvious choice would be the GX-04, but I run into the price wall again. I suppose it would be all the sweeter.

I am particularly fond of GX-04 as seen here th-cam.com/video/HJQt0lpitxs/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgzWoBp1utZmMSfz_Cl4AaABAg but if price is prohibitive (as it always is) and you don't need die cast (such a luxury 😭). Action Model kits like LR-056 www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/81310 are decent alternatives. They are a BIT SMALL for my tastes though... So I would go piecemeal and start with GX-76 www.amazon.com/Bandai-Soul-Chogokin-Grendizer-GX-76/dp/B07726DTMX which isn't too expensive (die-cast wise) and then complete the collection with GX-76X www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/71986 that way you'll eventually have them both after a few months of saving 😍 That's just my opinion, but I hope it helps!

Yes first Markham. That's the only local shop I ever buy in. Gunbuster. Damn that's going to be expensive. You should check robotjapan forum. People buy and sell outside of eBay. Usually fairly good rate. But its better to check if they've been there for a while or trusted forum user.

yeah if you post in the section buy/sell section. YOu can post that you're looking for one. Also I've noticed there's a lot of sellers on Instagram as well. Check around to see who's bought from the sellers. But it's definitely a more fair price. I haven't checked out. Maybe check out Gemr as well? I haven't looked at that yet.
I just got my Getter Poseidon. Awesome figure! Assembly is pretty easy. My only issue with it is the waist joint that connects the torso to the legs. Doesn't seem to lock in very tightly. Did you had that same problem? If not... how do you do to connect it so it doesn't come appart every time you try to pose the figure? Other than that... very happy with my new Getter.
Hi Ariel Cordero, awesome purchase dude you won't regret it! For the Torso Joint, its a bit tricky. You REALLY have to push the two together while holding the release tab. Once you feel the two are snug together try releasing the tab while still holding the two haves, after releasing try moving the figure's hips and torso to see if the fit is snug and tight. if its loose as wobbly you'll have to try again.
Poseidon is one of the harder ones to get spot on, I suppose its because he's so TOP heavy. Thanks for watching Ariel, consider subscribing as I have more videos on the way!

Greetings! I’m from the future! And I’ve come to say that they did make a transforming Starvengers Robot (Getter Robo G), the Dynamic Change Getter Robo G. Look it up online. There isn’t any reviews of it on TH-cam but as I have the figure I can say that it’s a fun, complicated Transformers figure.
wow the price went up way high. I got mine from toys2 up in markham I swear I only paid $90 Canadian. Did you just buy these? or did you buy them a while ago and not open them? Thanks for the review.. I've been meaning to put mine finally in a display case, Since I got mine up last year. I just haven't had the chance yet.
Hey @kidchuckle WOW you got a Poseidon for $90 CAN? That's awesome! Like in the video prices online are ridiculous, ebay is a bad place for collectables, I saw one GX-20 for $300 US just nuts. I've been collecting since back in the day, so I thought it would be fun to unbox them for you all! I'll be flashing my own display case in a few days for my promo as well as some other collectables I hope some of you will notice :D
well mind you that was at the time of release. I also haggled down the price for me and a friend. If we buy it together and pay cash (no tax). Yeah Ebay is really exploiting collectors. even amazon, unless you're in the US. If you know local shops you might be able to talk to them. This is my my go to place www.toys2.net/home.php I don't collect as heavy. Although I've been eyeing that SOC voltron/golion. But that thing is crazy expensive. If there's a second release I might try. but right now I don't think I can spend on that. Yeah that would be cool can't wait to see your display case.
toys2 doesn't really update their site very often. the store is kind of small, but packed. so it's hard to tell what they have and don't have. There's stuff I've seen in store that clearly isn't on the online site
