Between you and Rhonda Patrick, I changed my diet, lost 50lbs, and improved all blood markers, all while sitting behind a desk and no exercise, except for walking where I need to go (not walking miles after work).
Twelve years later, I have kept off that 50lbs, and have not been ill since 2011.
I use no pharmaceuticals or vaccines., though I do take a handful of supplements I've researched for myself.

Rhonda likes to tell people to take Vitamin D supplements but forgets to tell them Cholecalciferol - Vitamin D3, is the main ingredient in mice and rat bait poison. A mouse is about 90% DNA of a human.

Thanksgiving full of plant based sides! Someone wished me a happy turkey day yesterday. And I smiled. Because for six years, one less turkey was sacrificed for my family’s dinner. Thanks for all your hard work, Doc ❤

I was irritated by all the turkey emojis people sent me in text message TG greetings. There's no cornucopia emoji on many phones! Happy No-Turkey Day!

I am 63. I gave up red meat in 1991 at the age of 31. Had open heart surgery in 2005 (age 45) to repair my mitral valve. Turned vegetarian and nearly vegan before my 2nd open heart surgery 6 months ago to replace my repaired valve with a mechanical one. The repair had become stiff and calcified after 18 yrs. 95% vegan now. Feeling happy inside that I am part bionic and feeling pretty damn good.

thinking that a certain diet is the only way to go is your first mistake. you're an individual with unique biology - so act like it. if you want to lose weight try fasting: either juice or water, can also do one meal a day, intermittent fasting, 6 hour feeding window, calorie tracking etc. there are lots of methods available you can try most are guaranteed to work. from my experience you don't really reverse auto-immune diseases, you lower inflammatory drivers to the point where the symptoms no longer show up. for some diseases its easy, for others extremely difficult but you can always reduce symptoms. it would benefit you to include some wild salmon in your diet IMO.

Dr. Greger, can you make some more basic fact sheets that are geared towards the top 10 diseases, that we can easily have translated and share? Thank you for all that you do.

If vegetarian diet was so good, it should typically have corresponding benefit for about a third of the population of India who are considered vegetarian, which numbers to almost 500 million! However, India is below average on most health metrics including lifespan and increasing incidents of CVDs. Is it caused by their tradition of high dairy intake (milk and fermented derivatives such as butter, curd, cottage cheese, butter milk, etc), high consuption of oil and fried food along with frequent consuption of sugar loaded sweets? Would love to see any studies on this.

I have a question for Dr. Greger regarding the test which has showed the decrease of cognitive function in hours after eating meat or animal fat. Was this test run on the second group that ate non-animal food that would absorbed into the bloodstream in the same volume as animal food. So the question is, can decrease of cognitive function be explained by simple hypoxic reaction of brain due to volumetric replacement of erythrocytes with absorbed food in the unit of volume of blood?

Plants are great until you face any intolerances against them. This may manifest especially after switching to whole food plant based diet. To handle this intolerances seems often difficult and they discourage people to continue this healthy lifestyle.

This is vaguely worded nonsense. Go try eating a 100% meat diet with no plants (spices are plants!) and see how tolerant your body and your taste buds are of it.

It's because a gut micro biome unaccustomed to plant fiber generally requires an adjustment period, and people don't know this. Although, as Chris Hayes states, it could possibly be a hidden food sensitivity or allergy.

Vegetarians are still consuming dairy and eggs, that's not plant- based...Veganism🌿 is totally free from animal products, an ethical stance against animal abuse...and is therefore not a diet. Dr. Greger, you are mixing things up:)✌🌿

@@mizz308 I definitely could eat more veggies. I eat more fruits than I should I think. At 47yo I had the MI. I was eating so much processed junk. Maybe my body needs more time to recalibrate but I do need to exercise in conjunction with eating more veggies and beans. Thank you for your good advice.

@@stevenscott6715 do a split test. one day eat a set weight of veggies and beans. track how satiated you feel, how energetic you feel, if you're sluggish at all, how long you can work physically without feeling hungry, track if you're constantly burping / farting or have indigestion, stool quality etc. next day eat the same weight of unprocessed high quality meat and veggies, track the same way. next day meat, carbs (rice, quinoa), and veggies, track once again. your biology is unique as a human being, there's no perfect diet for everyone.
