A beautiful first ever gathering of legends who shaped the broadcast industry in the 60s 70s 80s and 90s. Thanks Jackie for piecing all this together, you never disappoint.
Am happy to see that Elizabeth Obeng is still as beautiful as ever. Jackie you are doing a great job of bringing these legends to the limelight once more.Fred Obach, no words can describe your generosity ,Mungu akuonzee tu ..Jackie next time nitafutie my sisters Ndinda Kasalu and Lenah Kitheka.God bless these legends
This was long overdue. I have been a KBC, VOK, KBS, ABS listener since my earliest days in primary school, 1961 to the seventies. So where's Njoroge Mwaura ( aka Peter Njoroge), Nick Ndichu, Joe Mwangi, John Ole Parakuo, Josphat Ngige ( sundowner), Swaleh Athumani? If they are still with us please find them, we would love to see them and hear them. We love you all.
I will never forget obachi machokaa with the program "Sanyo juu ,sanyo top" and ever ready paka pawa program. Not forgetting mambo with the program jee huu ni ungwana every Saturday, and in the morning every day when I go to school, maroon comandos with their song;" uvivu adui kubwa kwa ujenzi wa taifa" . usingizi mtaamu utamani kuamka." Lord thank you for this you have brought me".
Thank Fred Obachi Machoka Sakina Mohammed mwinyi for your efforts of bringing together my role models Lenard Mambo Mbotela Amina Fakii, Elizabeth Obege of mchaka mchaka programme at KBC then yourself Fred Obachi Machoka the blackest man in black Africa, Bibiye Khadia Ali Aaaroni(dada mrembo as they used to call her in the late 80's when i was very young Ali Salim Manga, Lee Njiru Raphael Tuju the younger lady in your group Sakina Mohammed Mwinyi, , Karanja, Nguatah Francis, comedian Mama Kayai the a bit younger of the group Benard Otieno,in your next meeting make sure the younger Swahili football commentator in your group in the md 90's Jack Oyoo Sylvester attend not forgeting the seniormost in your group John Mwakitawa anyway it was nostalgic.
