    I'm an owner of a Ninja 400 and it's a great beginner bike. Fast enough to put a smile on your face when speeding up but doing it in a way that won't get you into trouble. I also rented once a Svartpilen 401 and the only bad thing that I can say is that finding neutral was impossible sometimes. Apart of that it's a very funny bike. I love them both and I think that the best you can do is finding an excuse to convince yourself and go for the one that you like most, because you won't fail.

    My beginner bike - in 1988 - was a used $300 84 Honda CM450 that I bought in Las Vegas, sank $300 more into for new sprockets, chain, tire, tuneup, insurance and registration; serviced every 1500-2000 miles at Tom’s Bikes. Put 10,000 miles a year on that bike until I moved 3 years later. Carbed for altitude, I rode that beast from Death Valley - in March when it was only 70 degrees - to 9000 ft mountsin passes, ranging from San Diego to SW Utah and AZ. Loved riding in the NV Sierras; rode back there 2 years ago. Saw my old bike’s twin in the back of a motorsports garage a few years ago … ❤

Before I bought it, I was trying Ninja 400 (was my 1st choice), but z400 sitting/handles seemed much more comfortable, so I chose z400. Never regretted it. Simple, easy to learn how to ride (no abs, no traction control, nothing to teach bad habits)., Easy to fix/learn motorbike maintnance, fast enough to not become boring, not so powerful to be uncontolled. Goes anywhere, comfy with seargeant saddle, infinite upgrade / customization. Starts great with a few mods even better, with a bunch amazing. No bike over 250 is really a beginner bike if you go round corners faster than your ability.
    7 or 8 seconds 0-60 is still enough to get you in trouble if you do it in an urban environment.
    The z400 is way too quick for a complete novice if they don't have the self control.
    I learnt on a 50cc bike and I pulled out on two cars in the first few days 😄

    I went with the CFMOTO 650NK as my first bike, the price point, the power and the availability of parts really had me hooked. My friends who had been riding for years didn’t think a 650 was a solid idea for a noob. After purchasing the bike in September, I’ve put nearly 10k miles on the bike. Spent a few hundred miles on track riding with it too. For a more adult rider, I genuinely believe a 600-700cc bike gives them enough power to scare themselves into not being dumb, but gives them enough power to learn and expand their understanding of riding. Upgrading to an 800 later in 2023, and more than likely going to purchase another CFMOTO, their ADV bike seems rather promising.

    I love my CRF 300LS , just threw a Yoshimura exhaust system on it, and got rid of the stock bars and ugly mirrors, I also added the Pro Taper clutch perch and lever. The next mod is suspension. I went with the LS because I ride around town a lot, and it's nice being a little lower to the ground when sitting at stop lights.
    I've been riding dirt bikes for 30 years, and this was the choice for my first on-road bike, but I'm seriously considering something with a little more power soon, riding the 300ls off road is a bit boring compared to my 450 dirt bikes, but I like the option. I'm really liking the Ninja 400, but the Rebel 500 is also calling my name. I'm not sure about another dual sport or anything over 600cc. I'm a slow cheetah at 40 years old. My squid days are falling away from me, but I do like being able to pass cars at 70+ on the highway, and I've found the CRF300ls isn't quite the bike for that. Screw it! I'll just get an R1 😂😂😂

    Husqvarna use the same engine in their 401's as KTM 390's... so you will likely get good support from KTM dealerships on them mechanically but my nearby KTM dealer said anything to do with electronics and you are SOL and will need to find a proper authorized dealer.. which is like 2 hours away from me. Make sure you have an authorized dealer within a comfortable range is all I'm saying.

    i have a svartpilen 401 as my first motorcycle. So far I rode it for around 900km, and I love it. The neutral gear was quite hard to find at first 200km, but it will be much easier when you know the trick. Only one downside i have with it, is that I am 180cm and 105kg, this bike looks a little small for me

      @Nate-hf2hs ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@KyngEazy Firstly I will say the look, I really like the svartpilen, it gives you a feeling that it can go off road as well. Second, I tried on the vitpilen, I think the sitting position is just painful, the sitting position is kinda like a sport bike like RC390, but its basically a street bike. If you are interesting in the 401s, I really recommend you go to a dealer, and try on yourself.

    I think everything from the 250 300 L rally Honda cb500x & that KTM 390 are all badass bikes I don't know much about that BMW 310 GS but seems like it would be a real 🆒 bike, depends on where you live n' how the traffic is blah blah blah I had the 250 L rally I loved that bike but now I have 2019 cb500x non-abs model it's definitely more of a 🏍️💨 riding on the street but it's not near as good off road. I was going to get the newer cb500x but I decided to save almost 2,000 & get the 2019, I picked mine up with only 500 miles, (basically 🆕) 81mph on GPS @ 6,100 RPMs i changed it to 16🦷⚙️ that helps spread out all the gears & drop RPM on the 🛣️(highway) that's pretty impressive if you can Cruise 80 mph all day on a little 500cc 🏍️💨 I won't lie it feels much more comfortable at 75mph tho
