ollie into pogo is insane
All I could think of was "rip balls"
I am sure that many credit cards happened while learning how to do this
His son was doing great too. Among many tricks it looked like he did a 720 pop shove-it.
@@a.r.4822 Good job he already has kids then lol
That's my go to trick as well -- been doing it for 36 years off and on, and never credit carded myself (yet)
HUGE props for putting yourself out there and not just Learning Japanese, but learning it well enough that you can conduct a basic interview with these two greats in their home language. Language learning is tough, and Japanese is quite difficult.
I agree, I was impressed. It's super respectful too. If you're going to go to another country I feel like you should at least try to learn a little of the language. Jonny did a great job. I'm currently learning Japanese on my own and I really appreciated the hiragana subtitles when they were doing the interview.
Actually literally every other language besides English is pretty easy. The only thing I heard about Japanese is the writing system but then it becomes a cheat code because kanji are kind of like emoji, they carry meaning instead of pronunciation
I’m also a 51 year old freestyler, and though I’m nowhere near as good as Masahiro, this video was SO inspiring! Never give up!
the fact that the dad looks so young makes it seem like they are best friends, but they are really father and son and i think thats so beautiful
Rarity!!! Many don’t have good relationships with their parents
Му parents могопс
Honestly this is the most lovely video Ive seen of yours (and I watch most) - the connection you have with the people you're visiting and your understated desire to connect with them on their own ground by learning the langauge is a real testament to who you are as a person, let alone a skateboarder. Really loved this story dude x
100%
This was phenomenal, this is why I love this channel. So positive and no ego or agenda. Thank you. I've never seen anything like it. Brilliant.
This is some incredible footage Jonny. You should be proud of this video
Every skater dads dream, to skate with their children
100000%
I am living that dream.
I went without my 19yo son today though.
I also ate shit and am suffering right now.
Falling hurts so much worse at 41
@@herrerajoey2 I been trying to get my 7 year old daughter to pick up a skateboard, but she’s gotta have more of her polish mother in her because she has zero balance, lmfao. We keep working at it tho!
@@citystars1117 I had trouble getting my daughter to enjoy skating because she was so light. I got her a shorter 7.75 Santa Cruz deck, loosened truck, but turning was so difficult her her. She ended up putting down the board for a while. Lately I've been using my deck any moment I can. On our way from the school bus stop today I asked if she wanted to get on and I would help guide her. She got on, I held her hand, and a bright smile brightened her face. Just a casual stroll. It was very clear we both lit up the street because every passing driver had the biggest smiles on their faces as well. She asked me to set up her deck 🛹🤟
@@herrerajoey2 yeah it sure does. But don't forget, it sucked when you were a kid too. Never grow up. I'm 49 and still healing fine
You do not give yourself enough props man. I know some of these kids do crazy stuff, but you have to sit back sometimes and realize you have done stuff they might never do. Age happens. It happens to you everyone, but knowledge is infinite. Please never forget that. You are, and legitimately will always be a legend to many people. I know you will never stop doing crazy stuff, and that is inspirational to so many people. Thank you for all you do.
Now Need to do a Duo with him and Rodney Together.
Also that kid reaction at 1:11 it's priceless🤣
Been steadily waiting for that one
Japanese being so natural in their approach to skateboarding is amazing to see. It warms my soul when they all join in for a session for fun.
skateboarding is so beautiful in slow mo! the proprioception of good skaters is perfection, poetry in motion. street art.
Proprioception? I think this is the first time I've ever seen or heard anyone outside of a classroom use this word. 😆 I predict some google searches coming.
Just looked it up and now I also understand kinesthesia better😂
すごない?
フリースタイルのシーン追っかけてるわけじゃないけど、シンプルにレベルの高さにびっくりした。
そんなことよりすっげー良いフィルムだ。
This is actually better than anything on Netflix today. Incredible content, incredible vibe!
It's good for TH-cam. Wouldn't cut it on netflix or any real production.
How have i just found this channel. This was so incredible and the vibes were so positive i damn near teared up 😊 i hope Rodney sees this!
This was a really special video.
And GREAT editing.
Thank you 🙏🏽
This is the best video you have done on your channel so far in my humble opinion. Incredible skating throughout and the people featured were all incredible too.
Jonny thank you for your videos. I'm grateful to be aware of these incredible skateboarders you often showcase. 🙏
What a beautiful experience. Thanks for sharing, Jonny.
Ive never replayed so many parts over and over in a youtube video. Even with the slow mo it was hard at first to see the complexity of those tricks. I really like all of their individual styles, they seem like super cool and good folks. Great vid!
the videography, music, editing, storytelling, you sir were born to be a creator
Ths is amzing. I have never seen one of your videos before and I hope whatever ailments you’re feeling keep getting much more healed! Cause you are lookin smooth as heck here.
But….of course you know I’m gonna say, these father and son are carving up the streets like a jackhammer team.
Amazing how inventive masahiro is and also tho he sneaks in a couple like straight up 80s Tony hawk spins and flat ground stuff …if you catch it!
This is just amazing! At least I can play music pretty well, which, gave me excuse to not skateboard as much because I either did both . . .and broke bones, then could do neither (really it was rollerblading doing a 540 off a plastic ramp and broke my elbow bad…😮) ! Or, play music professionally and let the naturals at skating do their thing and go cheer you all on. Not that drumming 6 hrs a day can’t give you carpal tunnel or arthritis if you don’t also do stretches , learn proper technique, and respect your body and your instrument…..
And your elders and mentors!!! 😁
Cheers from Philadelphia, USA! (Home of what used to be Love Park where that “L-O-V-E” statue you filmed is originally from and th park was in Tony hawk pro skater 2!!
I was 10 when I went to my first riot and protest and it was for them trying to demolish the park!…..they eventually did.
Okay. History lesson, over.
たくさんの愛:ジョーダン
Their vibes are just so warming, japanese freestyle is on another level and its amazing to watch
I’m sure like others but you’re bringing and showing other boarders. Everyone is so chill. You’re bringing people together!
The amount of times I've rewound this video is nuts. These guys are bonkers
Very impressive, lovely it's father and son. Good video production too!
Visually astounding but it's also the sounds of the sliding and wheel clicks that gets me 💯🙏🏼
Some amazing tricks went down for sure super awesome and man I hope you start feeling feeling better, you’re a legend with some mad steez 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Living the dream.
Beautiful video Jonny. The caliber of skating in this video is beyond phenomenal
This video made my already great day even better! Thx a lot Jonny for the always amazing content!
This was incredible to see. It’s awesome to see that you guys are keeping the freestyle scene alive!!! My son and I want to go to Japan so bad.
and this is why I continue skating. thanks for sharing this!
really appreciate your content, nice to see other amazing skaters from other country's
Hammer Video Jonny! So ne geniali vibe wo Du übere bringsch! 👊🏻
Love how cool, laid back and warm/welcoming they both are. Great vibes here!
Notice how his head never moves from centered and looking down at his board. Sounds easy, but he’s mastered it
this channel is the best in quality of shoots! the angle, the slowmo, the stabilized shoots.
What a wholesome father and son relationship. Many of us barely know/knew our dads, myself included. Japan is also always +1 in my book.
fantastic video! thank you jonny!
Next video looks FIRE as well!!
it is beautiful filming, high skill flatground, and great editing. gj to all in the team and the skaters. Art with Less Disturbance.
This is a fantastic video . I couldn't contain my grin . I love Japan !! . Great camerawork . Subscribed !!
That was some amazing skating! Great video!
Nice video! Well put together, nice footage, great story!
Just discovered your channel. Beautiful videos and quality thanks man
i absolutely love these types of videos from you Jonny. the Japanese are such wonderful people. and freestyle skating is and always has been my favorite kind of skating. amazing video man
Such joyful, passionate, and wholesome people. They look like such a blast to be around.
I'm here for the Masahiro vs. Mullen freestyle video 😎 But your dedication to learning the language is impressive. Once again, you killed it 🙌
damn! absolute legends! great video, content and skaters!
Great vid, I love the creativity these japanese skaters bring, many years ago I got into Gou Miyagi and he had me looking at skating in a whole new way!
Great editing and incredible quality
Amazing level of respect, education and how humble they are! 🫶🏻 great video man
Vielen dank Jonny.. Tolle episode! ... Oh and, hope you're feeling a bit better now.
It's been awhile to see your videos show up back into my algorithm but man the music choice is great (also the skateboarding is great as well).
It has Been a while since i have last watched your videos. I blame the algorythm. But wow this was such a good time! Thank you💚
Absolutely love this! These guys make freestyle look good 👍
Great video, love the pacing
The vibes are just so good!
What an awesome video. From the amazing talent showcased, to the smooth editing and fitting backtrack. Nice one. Oh, and I love the Japanese culture too... Cheers!
That was such an amazing video!
They're all correct. Your film work has improved leaps and bounds. I'd show this to anyone. Well done.
Beautiful Country, great video, absoultely legendary skaters 😭🔥 Awesome guys !
That's amazing ! seeing father and son skate
This video deserve way more likes, OMG!
This was rad to see! They both are kill'n it! I'm 50 and still skate regularly. Def helps keep us young and healthy! From mind to body.
great vid. feel better soon Jonny
Love the vibe in this video. The skateboarding as absolutely amazing.
This kind of skating has always been my favourite. While the flipidipedy 360's that they do at the Berrics are super tough and require a lot of work and talent to pull off, these odd ball tricks are so much more fun for me. Seeing a trick and going "wait........ what???" is what I love in skate videos. These guys, Rodney Mullen, Alexander Rademaker, Richie Jackson is what I love to see. Thanks for sharing what these guys do.
I love that dolphin to pogo stand too! First time I've seen that actually landed
Come for the good vibes, stay for the joy, inclusivity, insane skills, respect, humbleness… and smooth video production skills. 10/10 Jonny. Thank you for inspiring skaters and non-skaters alike 🙏
eifach numme geil.!merci bro..eine vo mine liebste influ schnäuzers.keep that passion and never stop delivering.
This makes me want to learn tons more freestyle skate tricks. Just hit my first FS nollie bigspin yesterday 😁 working up to nollie gazelle, one day I will land it lol
great material 😊
One foot invert was rad. I remember when we used to try that, and I’m 51 now! Great memories coming back to life.
Damn brah, cant just drop 5sec of vid like that at the end. Cant wait to see that!
Your videos have gotten so insanely good. Keep it up! 😀
Oh and the freestyle skateboarding was just absolutely insane. My jaw dropped and just wouldn't shut any more. 😂
Incredible ! Whoa ! Big up to you and theses Japaneses skaters !!
merci pour ce moment de partage :)
Huge props to father and son. Both insanely skilled.
The precision they both land with is mind blowing. Mad props.
Great video!
I’ve been skateboarding for 40 years and my son for 20 years. One of the best gifts to receive in this world, a father and son skating together! Blessings to you all! ❤
Dad and son skating togather. Can't get anymore epic than that.
What an amazing vid, thanks
The song during the extended skate-only part 11:00 in has serious Logic System vibes. Great Japanese electronic artist.
This was such a great video dude.
that session was so great. extra crispy and that exorcist fit went so hard
I love to see one of my fav freestyle skaters (and a big inspiration of mine) get a bit more mainstream recognition. Masahiro is a beast.
Possibly the best friendship a young man could have with his father ! And man, can these guys skate……. Respect ✊🏾
Hacia tiempo que no veía un vídeo tan preciosamente maravilloso como este. Skateboard es amistad, estilo, inteligencia y creatividad... Skateboard es vida! ❤️
Great video man.
Good vibes from good people, arigato for this video ❤
Incredible skating from Masahiro (and Jonny); love the creativity.
Can we start a petition to get @RodneyMullen on the Jonny Giger show? Invite Masahiro too
He is so graceful. Unreal.
I've been skateboarding since 1986. Discovered few years later the one eighty to noseblunt to nollie on the quarter pipe and the impossible Rodney invented. I'm a multisporter, running a high amateur level. Skateboarding is absolutely my favorite cause it's so diverse and a lot of modern style has it roots in skateboarding. I truely believe Johny giger is popping it to a next level!
It is so interesting, they have such unique things in common, being talented at their age for skateboarding and for being a father and son who genuinely skate together.
This was a great video and I appreciate the effort that went into it. I hope you are ok Jonny. Look after yourself. ✌
Awesome video!
HE IS AMAZING 4 SURE. YOU ARE STILL MY FAVORITE SKATER JOHNNY. I AM GLAD YOU HAD A CHANCE TO SKATE WITH SUCH A PROLIFIC SKATER.
Great video. Ollie nutcrush was a close one. Loved the japanese skaters. Hajimemashite.
Dude is fire. Both of them, you too Bro, can't wait to visit Japan.
