That was a challenging 4x4 drive up that hill, front wheel off the ground a few times, great views and that pie, looked bloody yummy. Have a good week guys cheers 🍻
Looks like a VICTRON battery protect. The Battery Protect disconnects the battery from non essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine. In manual E1 is short circuit
You are the best family 4 WD adventure family out there! Love your easy casual style and keeping it simple. Great photography too without over editing it and always good advice. Hope to see you on the road and share a beer, if you don’t mind an old fella and his dog joining you around the campfire
@TheLifestylePioneers I drilled a holes in the ends of the mid support conduit. This restrained the Stone Stomper on the conduit as the Linch pins created a sort of end. TH-cam doesn't support replying with images which would save a thousand words.
LIZ! I would have had the bottle of whiskey in my hand! It is very beautiful but I think my heart would give out😅 great achievement though. I wouldn’t have slept the night before. Good you worked out the power issue. I love that you show the stuff that happens, we are always doing little running repairs and I think it’s great for people to plan a bit for what does not go as expected 😅
Thanks, that track is now 100% on our list when we make it to WA. Up until May 2025 we are still in Qld if you make it over this way and need extra car on challenging adventures. We spend most of our times solo exploring too and love it but in tougher tracks I do understand the advantage of support. Enjoy your break.
Another great episode guys. Always look forward to Sunday mornings watching your latest instalment. We are planning our own trip from Perth to Darwin then down the centre and back home so watching with interest where you stop. All the best.
Just wondering if there were any potential pinch-holes on the way up Mt Meharry? 🙂Although you'd need your head checking if you were attempting to tow anything up there! Also, genuinely laughed out loud at the 'Master Chef' comment Simon... but they did look pretty tasty. Another great vid guys. Thank you.
If you're ever in perth , we would love to go four wheeling with yas. We could even camp on the beach with yas if you're in need of a free camp and a good fishing spot
Brilliant filming. Got a great idea of how gnarly it was. You asked where we are. We had a 100 series LC we LOVED and were done over by Brunswick Diesel in WA. Consequently we have an LC with nothing under the bonnet. We bought a Wildtrack. It will need some work to get it up to what the LC could do. So... we're home! How did this track compare in difficulty to Bendelby Ranges in SA or High Country tracks in Vic?
Thanks guys, hope you get your car sorted. It's loose compared to what we've done at Bendleby but not as steep. Haven't done too much in the VHC but hopefully soon 👌
Those battery protects dont like the heat but also could be voltage drop. Maybe do some testing and see. Voltage drop over a long or undersized cable between battery + and the BP may result in a short circuit alarm when starting up the load or unexpected shutdown
I have one in the cruiser but at the rear and have had and issue. Like you I bypassed but ended up increasing the guage of the wiring to the rear and haven't had an issue since.
1248 metres is virtually the same height above sea level as Lake Eucumbene at high water mark and the drive is nowhere near as adventurous as that drive. Great work TLP's.
Why did you move the controller from recirc to open? With the vehicle coming towards you the recirc is the one I always default to as it stops taking air from outside and recirc what is already in the vehicle - what makes you do the opposite?
To be honest I can't remember which way around it happened in the video but generally we're on fresh air and re-circ when following or passing another vehicle .n the dirt.
Good tip on taking pictures of the van being secured before you drive off. I’ll bank that one! 👊🏽
No problem 👍
Don't underestimate the Ranger mate at least we have cup holders.
We had a Ranger for a few years, they're a great vehicle, but it wasn't the best off road.
@@TheLifestylePioneers And it was a ford!
We travelled that road a couple of yrs ago and it was great apart for about 60ks. Enjoy.
Having just spent five weeks up that way offgrid camping, I am feeling envious and want to head off again.
It's so good out there 👍
Just south of Meeka currently in Geraldton.
Great video guys can’t wait to do my adventure in February keep up the good work
Awesome! Thank you!
Occy straps work well to locate the stomper pole
Good tip on taking a photo of hitch lock
Thanks 👍
My new favourite YT channel. Just been back thru past vids, love the rig and the your adventuring attitude . Remote touring at its best 👌
Awesome, thank you!
Fantastic job filming the climb up, lots of wheel lifts show how steep and gnarly it really was.
Thanks, mate. Appreciate it 👍

Yes it was! Thanks Mark 👍
Climbed Mt. Nameless at Tom Price last week. It’s pretty narely too. This one will be on my list now. Well done. 👍
Nice one! It's a fun one as well, Mt Meharry is a lot more challenging and much longer.
Looks like a VICTRON battery protect.

Yeah, you're right. It's also used as a relay to isolate 12v loads when travelling, etc.
Do agree that Mt Meharry is arguably one of best 4wd track in WA
We loved it!

Thanks so much! That's great to hear 😊
I use Linch Pins in the end of the mid point tube holding up the Stone Stomper. They are quick to install and relatively cheap. Bunnings have them.
Yeah, ok. Not sure I understand how that would work?

For sure, thanks Jen. It's all about your attitude we think.

Sounds great. Cheers!
Loved the Mt Meharry footage, having done it in early July as well. Speccy views and a challenging little climb!
It really is!
Wohooo. What a track! Some great filming there team. That looked like a pretty good pie to me. Thanks guys. Another great episode as usual. 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I ditched the pole on the aframe 6 months ago. Zip tied eversince.
Zip ties don't last is the only problem.
One set in 6 months inc the Gibb
Another great episode guys.

😆 Thanks mate. Pinch holes were the least of our worries 😆👍
Looks like a great hill to test out the Rubi, I'd be there with ya for sure.. to bad I'm thousands of Kms away.. 😢
One day! Maybe some Vic High Country soon 😉
If you're ever in perth , we would love to go four wheeling with yas. We could even camp on the beach with yas if you're in need of a free camp and a good fishing spot
Sounds great!
Love ya work mate n wata naturally beautiful mrs,no crap, makeup n bullshit.ripper couple
Cheers 👊
Why did you leave roof rack loaded for the climb?
It's a lot of effort and you need to be able to put the stuff somewhere. Loading dusty swags, etc into the van isn't fun.

Good to know, thanks for the info!

Great work TLP's.
😆 That's interesting. Thanks, Pete.
Where were we? Sitting watching you guys drive that track on TH-cam. Sadly not there too.
Close enough 🤣
Great vid... dunno how ya survived without the dishwasher and running water 🙂
Us, either.... but we got there!

Given that we are over-sharing, I need to pee every time I launch the drone 😂😂😂
😆 Good to know. Thank you 👍
If we ever get to meet you happy to go 4wding with you.
Sounds good 👍
Toyota driver takes the p155 out if other manufacturers…typical! Then loses 12v power out of caravan….karma has worked well!
Ranger owner comment 😂 We used to have one, hence my comment 😂
you put shit on the ranger and next vid your cruiser breaks down thats called karma
😆 Hit a nerve? We toured in a Ranger for 3 years, that's the background to my comments.
You need to back down
Reverse down?
