    Only you, dear Hannah, can make a fun, informative and cheeky video about, basically, an old flea market. I cannot fathom how long it took to edit, but you did a brilliant job. Your asides about criminal charges for the use of a loo, needing a vending machine for some Ibuprofen, doing the remortgage for some food and needing lines in your tablet because you need a bit more control in your life were beyond funny. And, no, you are not too old for your treasured lemon cardigan. You are eternally young looking and eternally young at heart. Then, with that great piano playing, you gave one more great laugh by thanking the viewer for watching and calling the viewer a “cheesey naan melt.” You don’t just make my day, Hannah, you make my week. Thank you!

      At first, I agreed that a pound for a pee was pretty steep, but then I thought that it might be worth it, if it meant that there was an attendant who made sure that the loo was kept clean and odor-free. I'd be willing to pay the price, if that was the case. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    My daughter works in Camden. I met her from work one day and the crowds were insane but if you go down the tow path there’s a little path that leads to a church and there’s a little shack in the church yard that sells coffee. It’s so lovely and we could actually sit at the table and hear ourselves talk! Then if you carry on across the churchyard it takes you across the road to Regent’s Park.

    I used to go Camden market quite regularly during the 80s and 90s when it was really grungy and gothy. It was always reinventing itself with all sorts of groovy shops. I remember there was a juice bar in some sort of labyrinth of a "cave" made from polystyrene foam and it was lit with all manner of neon lights! Now it looks very cleaned up with tons more food stalls - back in the day there's was only a veggie burger van! For all its expensiveness and "cleaned-upness" now I still think it's definitely worth a visit! Just have your wits (and purse) about you! Thanks Hannah, I'm glad you gave it a big up too!

    I moved to London for uni in 1982 and I loved Camden Market. The second hand clothing was so good. My kids loved it in the late 90s and 2000s. The clubs and music scene were great too. I haven’t been since it stopped being ramshackle and started being corporate. Times change.
    Thanks for another great video , interesting to see the market as it is now.

    I used to go to Camden Market between 1980 and 1983 as a teen/early 20s and the only two things I recognise are Camden Tube Station and the Camden Lock bridge. Good memories though, especially coupled with the music scene at The Roundhouse/Electric Ballroom.

  • @lynnhamps7052

    I moved to Islington in 1982 and many, many weekends were spent walking along the Canal to Camden Market...Camden as a whole was one of our favourite places during the 80's and 90's, The Black Cap, Camden Palace and The Electric Ballroom, such brilliant memories. We were Goths and shopped for most of our clothes from the Market, Swanky Modes and sometimes down Carnaby Street. I bought an original 60's leather bike jacket once (that I wore over black tulle skirted ball gowns of course..lol) and a bloke with a stall, painted Bauhaus on the back for me...wish I knew what happened to it. Always got our DM's there too, had two pairs, one blue and one red and always wore odd pairs. Biggest thing I think is better now is the amount of photo's people take, we obviously didn't have mobile phones so it was photo booths or a snap and shoot camera, had dozens of film reels that never got developed, again now lost to time sadly.
    Thanks for the tour Hannah, I'm 64 now and have stage four cancer and live on the Isle of Wight, so it's unlikely I'll ever go back, so your vids are really lovely to see. It does seem to have changed, (much more food), but over 40 years has passed after all, I think it still has enough of an individualised style to mainly stand up to the 'old days' though.

    Hi Hanmah - brilliant video!
    I'm sure you've tried this with the strobing lights - but just double checking that you're shooting in either 25 or 50 fps - rather than 30 or 60.
    Also make sure the anti flicker is set to 50Hz not 60Hz...
    Also there are hidden nice(r) free toilets in the New food court over the road on the first floor!
    Hope this helps!

      But the loos in Hawley Wharf are our go-to, plus there's a secret free open roof garden if you go up the stairs (which is closed at the moment) - used to work there

    Always so interesting, I have been to Camden market on visiting home...! It wasn't my favourite to be honest. Fun walk about however and love some of the unique creativity. And a BIG NO to no prices displayed, I am by no means shy, but I simply feel if the shop or store holder cant be bothered pricing, then I cant be bothered buying! Of course its an attempt to draw you in and then pressure you to buy, never works well. Love market food, but again I don't like being ripped off. Thanks again Hannah.

One of my favourite places back in the mid 90's was Greenwich on a Sunday. Not sure if you have covered it, but have not seen one from there so far. Hopefully it is still great all these years later. Thank you Hannah for bringing us along on your relaxed stroll through Camden Market. That colourful cardigan is cute on you! I totally get the vibe. I'm so glad the old architecture has been preserved. There's a place somewhat similar to Camden Market in my town(Vancouver). On a much smaller scale, of course. It's called Gastown. Gastown too has been gradually evolving over the years as property prices rise. Not putting prices on stock is a sure fire way of reducing your customer base by 90%. At least. Negative signage is a no no! As always it's wonderful seeing you Hannah. Take care.

    Great video as always Hanna! I did the same for my visit to Camden market, early on a Sunday morning before the crowds came in. I was on mission as my nephew had requested One Piece cards, which I hadn’t even heard of but the Bandai store has them. Great food and atmosphere. London is my favourite city and I try to visit at least once a year, 7 solo trips later I finally made it there.
    I’m loving all your videos, shopping, tourist stuff, just walking around, I get my weekly dose of London.

    I remember when I was just out of school I went to England and fell in love with Camden. It was a little gritty, but cool area. Now there way too many people, and I’m from Los Angeles! It is nice to see Camden again non the less. Thanks!

    I don’t think I get as excited for anyone else’s “New video from…” notification 😊❤️! I lived in the UK for ten years and there’s so much I miss about it - but I feel like I’m going for a wander with a mate like I used to when I watch your videos 🥰! Thank you!

    I think the best reason to visit Camden Market is for the industrial history and the architecture. Even if the markets themselves aren’t that great, there’s definitely a lot of very interesting and beautiful old factories & properties to see within the area.
    Another great video Hannah! Keep up the great work! 🙌 ❤️
    Btw, with regarding to the lights flickering in the videos, depending on the device you record videos on, there’s 2 things you could try.
    1) Change the fps from 60 to 50
    2) Change the shutter speed to 1/100 instead of 1/120
    I hope this helps for your future videos?! 👍

    • @HannahRicketts
      @HannahRicketts  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The frame rate doesn’t help.. and this camera you can’t change the shutter speed sadly!!

    • @DansToursYT
      @DansToursYT 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@HannahRicketts That's a shame. I was hoping that by changing the frame rate, the camera would automatically alter the shutter speed accordingly to the 180 degree shutter rule. I was thinking of picking up an Osmo Pocket 3 in the future, but without proper manual controls, it's a little off putting.
      One thing you could try, I don't know if you've considered filming with your iPhone 15 Pro again, but there's a free application called "Blackmagic Camera". In the app, you've got full manual controls of literally everything including fps, shutter speed, ISO and even White Balance. I use the app on my iPhone 15 Pro Max & it's a great application to use. I would never go back to using the iPhone's camera app for video recordings.
      I'm sorry my advise didn't work for the DJI camera. I hope this will though. I'd be happy to assist further if you need it Hannah!

    DJI OSMO 3 sttings for UK should be PAL not NTSC hence the light flicker. To access PAL settings on a DJI Osmo 3 (likely referring to the Osmo Pocket 3), navigate to the video settings within the app, where you can usually find a "PAL/NTSC" option, and select "PAL" to ensure your footage is outputted in the European standard frame rate (typically 25fps) for compatibility with PAL regions; remember to check your specific device's settings menu for exact location of this option.

    London is such a charming Goliath of a city. It is truly the World's capital and has been for 1000 years or so. So wanky, yet so smart. Thank you for displaying it in a realistic fashion! Hi Hanna, I watch your videos every week and love them!
    I recently visited Camden after a long time and really enjoyed it. From my experience, it’s best not to buy a T-shirt from the first stall you see-chances are, you’ll find it cheaper elsewhere. It’s a good idea to check prices at a few different shops first. The more expensive stalls are usually open to negotiation, and many offer discounts if you buy two items.
    I was also pleasantly surprised by the great customer service there!
