Hi Chris How do you put an obese snake on a diet? Do you cut the # of times you feed or the size of the meal? We have a bumblebee that has scale spread because she’s hefty. I don’t want her to starve, but not too sure how to go about a “diet”.
@@justusrunning I find that so interesting about genetics. We consider the scaleless head to be a codominant, but it's also 'visual het' for scaleless... honestly, anything with a super form could be technically considered a visual het, genes are funky that way
@@Aziara86 it really works the same way with all the genes. The co-dom, dominant and recessive descriptors just describe how the visual works, not the genetics beneath. It literally is the case that a co-dom is het for super co-dom. Dominant traits just don't have a super form, in other words homozygous for that gene, doesn't look different than the heterozygous.
Hey will you please explain in a video how recessive can be found in the wild I cannot wrap my head around it because it takes two genes to make a visual
I suppose recessive can be found in the wild because there's occasional inbreeding, as snakes don't tend to travel very far from where they're hatched. So the first snake that has the mutation would have to breed with its own offspring.

Wow!; I'm surprise the Scaleless and the Lori BP (both from BHB Reptiles) did not make the upper end (or anywhere) of your list of the 'Top 8'.
Both are incredible morphs, yet neither are recessive. I believe both are incomplete dominant traits.

Since it is recessive, it is possible to be not visual in the wild. Just a het that kept getting passed down.
