weird to see ppl not caring at all... but i guess when you live there it's no longer a big deal. i am in awe of the beauty and danger of lighting... it is magical to me
why dont ppl care when lightning can hit u up to 20 miles away an that storm easily could have done damage .......great video but ppl need to adhear to the facts an be safe when a storm of that magnitude is goin on......thank you for posting
Something worth mentioning I never once heard thunder which means it's probably far enough to increase the odds of being alright Floridians really are unafraid of lightning! Up here in western Washington, one single lightning strike In some random spot makes the evening news!
My family in Tampa is a prime example. I was out on the patio of a local bar with my cousin and I mentioned the lightning and all he said was "oh yeah" The only thing that they noticed is that it wasn't raining!
commenting 9/19/16 7pm...awesome on the many many kaliedoscoped-CGs and the anvil-crawlers......enough to take one's own breath away...also..the TCu's and CBs shown before the lightning....excellent video in so MMWTO... BTW..I have been to Sarasota FLA.. 4 times..nice town...! Also...whoever was playing the nice ''jungle drums'' nice soothing sounds.... and also..nice gal also videotaping the lightning about 40 secs into the video....with her own camcorder...wonder if she also uploads? As for me..I had a nice Tstorm here 2am 8/14/16....after a big thunderhead on 8/13/16....my biggest this season was my 6/21/16-Tstorm....roll lcouds...lotsa lightning...thunderclaps.
Which videocamera you had use during this thunderstorm? And can you film in HD with a distance thunderstorms (lightning and luminous clouds) in HD with this camera , especialy and also in lowlight? I want to buy a very HD camera, but for a maximum budget of € 550 euro's. I hope you can help me a little bit, which camera this is or what you advince me for filming thunderstorms by day and night? My first advice was the Panasonic HC V770. I don't know if this is the same camera? Hoping for some advice and info about this camera that was used here. Thanks in advance.
Fabulous! I have been a fan and a subscriber of yours for a long time and this video is favorited, and shared. You did a great job. Couple of questions: Was this associated with one of the tropical depressions or is it just a regular storm? What was the story with the drums? Concert, party, lightning worshippers? Thank you so much from your Utah fan - we haven't had lightning like that in years and years. I must live vicariously through your video!
I'm not the person who owns this channel, but I can answer regarding the weather (I've lived in Florida for almost 40 years). This was (almost certainly) just a regular storm - but just a bit more lightning than usual. We get probably 5-10 storms with lightning shows like this (or much better) every summer. The storms form over land and then move out over the gulf (sometimes form just inshore of the beach and then move inland and out over the Atlantic Ocean, but that's the inverse of the normal pattern). A tropical storm usually has less lightning associated with it, even in the thunderstorms - more rain than the usual. Just this summer, we've had at least one storm that makes this look a bit pale and slow... lightning almost continuous for over an hour (I walked out to watch it). I remember one bad storm in the 80s where the lightning was continuous for hours - and my folks said that the cloud glowed an eerie blue for part of that time. As I remember, it made the news. Back in the 60s and 70s (and into the 80s), you could set your watch by the weather during the summertime. In Bartow (in the center of the state), the first raindrops would hit the pavement always about 10 to 12 minutes before 5. If things changed, it usually meant a tropical system (depression or storm) was in the area. That changed in the mid 80s... now it's not very predictable.
One thumb up for the lightning. One thumb down due to the lack of thunderclaps. Please leave the thunder in. We're only getting half the experience. It's like watching fireworks without the explosion sounds.
The lightning was probably at a very far distance (what people call ''heat lightning'') far enough for the thunder to be heard, if thunder can't be heard then that means the lightning strikes are too far away and cannot reach you or strike you
The keys are beautiful with tropical weather and pretty good nature and mother nature is a storm itself at times, omg those people are running out of the water for their dear lives, I don't understand how lightning can happen with a sunset?
In Florida, the norm is storms forming near the center of the state and then moving west out over the gulf in the evening (and going out over the water after dark). Often you'll have a storm to the east and clear skies to the west along the coast when the sun is going down. I've been fishing at the skyway bridge and had a storm on one side and beautiful sunset on the other. One time, that storm had a bad tornado that did a lot of damage across Tampa bay from where we were before it dissipated - and a pretty sunset.
They move east to west, how unusual in nyc my area they move west to east, only east to west twice in my life when I was 7 and then again at 9 in a half how in almost 29 wow-e y almost 20 years ago time flies - and I like the name siesta
This would be stunning, but all of the writing all over the screen makes it impossible. Take out the top line, or get rid of those on the bottom. Stop worrying about others copying and let people enjoy your work.
I can't believe people are still swimming even with all those bolts of lightning. Probably the LAST place I would be in that kind of weather.
That is right
That storm isn’t really that close. Probably over 20 miles away. You couldn’t hear the thunder
@@mkennedy1389lightening can strike up to 100 miles away. If you can see it, take shelter.
Yeah... the ocean is the perfect place to be when it’s lightning ⚡️
Lightning is as beautiful as a sunrise/sunset over the ocean

Those people on the beach need to take shelter, I can't believe they are continuing like it's a sunny day.

I gotta admit lightning does look beautiful over the ocean
Thunderstorms are unique in that they bring a sense of calmness, excitement and danger all at the same time.
This is making me miss that place. I lived in port Charlotte for 5 yrs. Went to siesta key almost every weekend. Best place /# best time of my life. ❤
Those bongos are about to be electrified!

I agree. They need to get off the beach. That is VERY DANGEROUS!! Great video, though.
Something worth mentioning

Unfortunately they are kind of the experts at it. They have grown so accustomed as you said that taking a gamble for them is just a regular thing.
Pretty dumb Idk how these ppl are in the water!
Absolutely stunning but who on earth would be in the water? The saying "a bolt from the blue" isn't just a saying, it happens!

Genial!!! eso si es una tormenta.
Awesome 👍
Why r they in the beach when it is pouring with rain 💀
This is probably why the most people get stuck by lightning in Florida. Because they all want to go out in the open and watch it.
Florida is the Death By Lightning Strike Capital of the world.
Biutifol 😍
Florida cgs>>>>
If I were those people, I'd get off the beach ASAP, unless they want to play Russian Roulette.
beautiful storm, i from Brasil ¥ SP
Nice
Sublime
i live in florida...this aint nothing new ..we see this all the time.. notice all the people on the beach just chillin...cuz they are used to it..

And they wonder why they get struck. Bloody idiots staying on the beach 😡
Great video otherwise
How stupid can people be.

This is Florida after all... Lol

No one cares about the lightning?
Maybe because the lightning is at a very far distance (what people call ''heat lightning'') far enough for the thunder to be heard!
