I know it’s a bit late but still, Mexicans don’t call Lubezki ‘Chivo’ in the same sense you’d call someone the GOAT in English because the acronym for greatest of all time doesn’t have any relation to the word chivo. It’s just a nickname that people called him way before his accolades.
For me growing up playing video games, it feels like it's shot like a game, you have the cut scene intro and at first it's subtle but it has the exact same transitions like when a game puts you into control. The shot goes into first person view which gives the audience the feeling they are there and immersed like a game. Especially the action scenes, I love the Julian ambush scene and after they leave the Bexhill communist bank fort, the chills when the soundtrack gives that eerie music.
So glad I subscribed to your channel. You've done amazing work covering the cinematography of major films. As a filmmaker myself, I highly value lighting breakdowns and how directors and DP's approach the capturing of their stories. There is so much to learn from these breakdowns. Thanks for putting these together. Oh, and Children of Men is another one of my favorite films.
Actually I liked it a lot and was just disappointed that you kind of ended it Just when I was getting my teeth into it. Oh well… You can only do what you can do. Or what you want to do.
It’s a great start but why you felt you had to rush through this, I don’t know. You had to speed through scenes because you thought what? That we would be bored? It’s a great start but there’s not nearly enough depth to make this a video you want to go back to again and again.
Glad you somewhat liked it, You're actually the first person to say these are too short, and I'm not really sure why. I've chosen the route of shorter, easier to watch videos surrounding the cinematography of the film, not the meaning. It is also because many people do get bored after 6-8 minutes, but I agree that it is nice to go back and rewatch longer videos, however, I'm not striving for that.

I originally started this to learn more myself, but being able to help other people is such a good feeling.

Great Work, could you do a video on the cinematography of Waves (A24) ?
Thanks! That was my plan for Friday's video! Loved their use of aspect ratios and colour.

Your voice is not that clear. Feeling disconnected. Particularly Asian people get disconnected.
