Yup. The scene that stuck with me the most, by leagues. "That guy with the glasses" - later on I'd learn who Clive Owen was - was just seared in my brain. It was heartbreaking to watch his character and the way he just... he really conveyed pain and how lonely he was. That was an absolute "Wait a minute I gotta find out more about that guy" moment for me

For me Chancer is one of the best tv dramas I've ever seen, such a great cast, i feel it has been forgotten, I've never seen it repeated on tv, i have to rely on my dvd box set.
Surprised there's no mention of BMW Films was mentioned (where he played the protagonist, "The Driver)! He worked with an amazing list of directors for all nine films, and most of them were even produced by David Fincher.
Shame they didn't include Gosford Park, he and Helen Mirren have the standout roles in one of the best and largest ensemble casts ever put together for a film.
CHILDREN OF MEN is a perfect example of a character that defies traditional screenwriting/drama instruction: Theo is a passive character who doesn't really want something but has to adjust to an environment that thrusts itself upon him. He doesn't really change all that much other than realizing hope is something worth having after all, but even if the ending had gone differently, I don't think it would've changed his day-to-day life all that much. I had absolutely NO idea that he played Bill Clinton. I must see it now, however bad it may be.
Mr. Oven is really a very smart and comprehensive person. He talks about all the projects he is involved in with a really inclusive candor. I appreciate that.

When I was dealing dice and learning the wheel I watched the Croupier scene where Jack sorts the chips on repeat for hours, for weeks, while I sorted cheques until I was a lot faster and smoother than the guy (certainly not Clive) in the movie. I've seen those 20 seconds or so many thousands of times.
An absolutely amazing actor, and im so glad ive followed his career since Croupier. The Knick was also one of my favourite shows.. its brilliant and doesnt get talked about enough
