Great to see the work you are doing to your boat in the dry dock. Lots of preparation but not governed by weather issues. As usual George has been a real trouper helping out.. The amount of maintenance you have to do on a boat is quite substantial and costly for you too, obviously easier in the dry dock with more time and controlled drying conditions. Boat looks really good. Your positive, proactive, hardworking attitude shines through as always Well Done May Thank you for sharing
Thank you, positivity goes a long way! It’s also okay not to feel okay 👌
Great niffty manoeuvre by George to get on top of the boat :)
Right! Ninja skills
If everything goes tits up for George, he has a career in the circus on the high wire. His balance seems impeccable!
I too am in awe!
She is looking good and she is protected
She’s looking fab!
Amazing achievement, so great to see the team work you and George have. Wishing you a smoother few months where you can enjoy your home. Sending warmest wishes xx
I dont know what it is about painting something but that always seems to give the most satisfaction.
Agreeeeee
Your boat looks Beautiful now May, with all the DIY, Love & Care You and George have completed on her. 😊 Well Done
Thanks so much! 😊
I knew Tooley's was old but didn't realise it is that old. Banbury Canal Day is always worth a visit. Haven't been since before Covid but aim to be there this year. I'll definitely say hello if I see you. The boat's looking good and the owner's not bad either
Amazing right! Ancient place haha! Maybe see you there
Hopefully, i'll certainly try. (I'm very trying 😊 )
The boat looks like new🎉
She’s a beauty!
The boat looks amazing after that new paint
So good! Bit dusty now she’s been out and about but nothing a good down pour won’t sort out!
Hi May and George wow what a lovely job you done together and I must say you look so happy when you are both together doing things. Keep up the good work. It’s hard to get a soulmate that is interested in what you do and it’s fantastic to see you both doing things that you enjoy doing Cliff from Australia
Thanks so much 😊 we’ve got a good thing going on!
Hi May great vlog as usual she's looking good 🤞🏼 for the raffle... great to see George back aboard
Woohooo! Thanks for watching
Fab job on your Painting well done 👏 😊
the boat is looking fantastic May. Her next owner will be getting a real gem. Thanks for the video. I decided to buy 2 tickets just to support you.
Aww that’s so great, thank you! Best of luck

Jób. Well done may n Ragnar cheers n beers Marty Qld Australia
Hehe cheers and beers to the Aussie crew!
Well done May she's looking good I've got my deck and roof to do this year xx
Oooo good luck!! It’s hard work but well worth it!
It looks like the prude police have taken down my last comment, so I'll rephrase. I love to see both you and George working in such enchanting harmony. Your commitment to produce an excellent piece of work together is so inspiring. Your future as a couple would be wonderful. The silence of the boat shed, after his departure emphasized the true love of working together. Nice paint job can't wait to see it outside. Luv ya both. Steve.
Aww thanks Steven! Big hugs
Wow! What a transformation!
Well done both of you - a heroic weeks work done there, I reckon. Being a greedy git, I've just bought myself another bunch of tickets for your raffle!
Stay safe and happy x
Nice work! Better chances now! And she does look incredible
Down and dirty with George again, it's got to be the future. That boat shed seemed such a bleak space to work alone, after he left. Great job on the painting, can't wait to see the full effect in the open.
great video thank you ❤ 👍
Hi guys, I am a new member and live in Australia WA. So looking forward to seeing your video’s until you raffle it of so is that soon?
It looks very nice and I do like the colour black and maroon. Jon
December time will be the draw 😊 welcome to the channel!
Lot of work that you and George have save someone else, but you seem very mellow it is now done. It's looking pretty smart as well.
It’s bloody fab! Thanks for sharing ☺️
You're the business May ♥
Hehe 🤭
Londoner speaking, your amazing
Tooley's are fundraising for Restoration of historic wooden canal boat Hardy 😊
Yes! I was involved in that project last year ☺️
Wow, she's looking good, the best part of a large project is looking at it when it's finished, haha. Seriously though, I must buy you a coffee after seeing all the work (and $$$$) put into this looooong boat, I can see why you're downsizing, but you still have to fit everything you've accumulated into a shorter boat, good luck with that. John from PA USA
Great work getting my future narrowboat ready for me! 😁 Looks great! Did George pick the painting music?
Haha! I think he did! 🎸
Boat looks great, I have my raffle ticket. Hope to see you at Tooleys in October. 😀
Fingers crossed!
Absolutely brilliant job, you’ve worked mega hard and George is such a good friend to you. I’ve always wondered why the base plate doesn’t get painted as well as the side of the hill? Your boat looks so beautiful now. X
It can get done if you request it 🙏 I’m so proud of all the work and I’m also glad the hard stuff is over with for now!! 🙈😂
Hey May. I found you through Terry. Your boats previous owner. I got speaking to him in a club we both go to in Hartlepool. Just bought some tickets for the raffle so fingers crossed 🤞. Good luck on your journey
Very cool! Small world ey! Good luck!! 🤞
@@wellbeingonwater it’s amazing how small sometimes. Yours is a lifestyle I’ve been considering for some time now. I think one way or another I will end up doing it. I spoke to my mother regarding it recently and it turns out that it’s in the family’s history. I have two dogs May. Do many people keep dogs on the canals?
Hi May
Paul from Canada here
Love your channel.
Just entered your Raffal
When will you be doing the draw?
Hey Paul from Canada! Thank you for watching! Christmas Eve around 6pm I think! It will be done by the company Raffall. So they will be in contact with the winner!
Well with a new coat of paint and blacking, (soundsintriguing as it's a new product) and help from George the acrobat (mind your bare feet). It's a good job done very well.
Thanks M!
Hi May
You and George did a great job of the paint work. Prep is always the toughest part of any paint job lol.
Any chance that you crossed paths with Ian who cruises in narrow boat Angel?? He to was just in and around Tooleys. Did you take in the museum at Tooleys??
Mark
Alberta, Canada
Yes! Passed him last week! Love tooleys, museum is so cool! Thanks for watching 👀
Hi. Nice Jo/ on your boat. Did you manage to paint the underside. Cheers 😊
Hi may I messaged on your previous video if have not seen,I was wondering what paint you used for the roof?? I love watching your videos,I guess the narrow boat life gets very expensive at times but it all well worth the time and effort knowing it is done.im still slowly catching up with your old ones too. You really really do so well ☺️☺️ x
It was deck paint and primer from Temac ☺️
she looks wonderful clever pair love Merilyn
aww thank you sweetie
Hello May,
It's a lot of work but the narrowboat looks beautiful again.
It really is! Worth the effort
@@wellbeingonwater You are strong.
Looks good May, but you didn't get the bottom blacked!!
She’s blacked!
No matter what blacking you are trying to get people to watch the whole video for to earn Adsens you should be using International 2 pack which is what is used on deep sea fishing trawlers. Application with a rad roller is good for a laugh you end up taking off more than you put on, coverage is important and 'blacking a boat' is a serious thing to do.
Do you ever get to the Evesham or Pershore area? ❤
does the underneath of the boat get blacked as well or just the lower sides?
She looks lovely. Question, as a man is it possible for me to maintan a Narrowboat if I have a large ego?
You are so cute May!!!!☺️
Aww thanks
i see you are using a microfibre roller, does it leave little fibres behind as i tried using one on my old landrover its 61 years old so i use a marine paint and a foam roller but i tried to use a microfibre one and it was leaving small hairs or fibres behind i see the sides look good in the dark red marone but i was wondering do you get small fibres come off onto your paint, i still have my microfibre roller here and its been cleaned well after i first used it and it dropped the fibres but im thinking it might be better now since any loose fibres would have come off by now.
They worked perfectly
Blacking is when the NZ All Blacks hammer England….oh wait….I got the wrong end of the stick 😁
What is jazzy track about 12.27 pls
What will u do if it sells buy another?van life ? caravan life ?
Yeah a smaller one. Do it up
Hi can you explain how the raffell for boat goes will the boat have a survey ? im worried that if i was luckily enough to win i could be left with a massive debt on a boat that needs replating ? cheers in advance
She had a survey back in 2020 and hasn’t had one since. She’s been looked after very well and improvements have been made. If I ended up winning a boat that then sunk on me, I’d just count it as bad luck and scrap the metal? but that’s worst case scenario which in my experience never happens! Worry’s can sometimes make us miss opportunities and life is full of risks and fear. I guess you make your choices and carry on! Best of luck if you enter!
@wellbeingonwater it's not the point of just scrapping it now costs to scrap what's to say the boat is a crock and just passing on ??? It's not as if I'm new to boats have built them for 50 plus years and have also had surveys carried out what's your qualifications wanker ??
@wellbeingonwater not worth entering only one winner you boat worth maximum 20k and you get more if it's a crock people left with a massive bill will the survey be available to read to clarify ??? Condition 30 k plus to re plate the vessel and problems to get insured
Hi May. At the start of the video, you said that blacking was a bi-annual event, but a few minutes later, you said it was something that was done every few years. I'm very confused.
Every other year is how often I black. Sorry for the confusion
How do I buy a ticket for the raffle?
raffall.com/winanarrowboat
I hope that wasn't Trigger's broom...🤣
Trying to work out who trigger is. I’m thinking Tigger but that can’t be right
@@wellbeingonwater Trigger from Only Fools & Horses, you'll find it on here, very funny...
did you the botton too?
Do you mean bottom?
@@wellbeingonwater yes:)

Are you and George courting?
Haha yes, he is at the top of my ballroom dance card
How marvellous!

Hope the gearbox gets fixed before I win her .
She’s working a dream
