Or take counters off Blast Zone so it can sweep tokens. Or take counters off Reckoner Bankbuster so they can't draw cards or get the pilot and treasure. Or take the oil counters off Archfiend of the Dross, which could win you the game in a couple of ways. Resetting sagas is cool too. Not many playable sagas at the moment. Fable and Cruelty are about it. The Urza saga might get better. Scry 4 and a free planeswalker every turn.

I just think being able to have multiple, plus being a poison counter combo enabler is going to make too many ppl salty, even if it's not completely dominant 😅

@@jmangan17 Yeah it's definitely one of those cards that my first reaction is "Why? Just why?!" How does a card like that get through testing and be approved. Hopefully we are all wrong and there's enough stuff to keep it in check. We can only hope.
@@jonathanhaven1690 I mean the stuff that keeps it in check poisons you. If there was anything that needed a 'once per turn' clause, it was this card
played with it over the weekend (standard deck), with all the instants (tyvars stand, tamiyos safekeeping, infectious bite etc) it gets ridiculous very quick. even though toxic is not as crazy as infect, rotpriest stacks up insanely fast if it isn't dealt with. if contaminator is out with it, its brutal. I agree that it could/will get banned, which sucks because it is fun to use.

Evolving adaptive is my first craft from the upcoming set; The second one-drop (alongside ascendant packleader) that my mono-g defiler of vigour deck has been waiting for.
I built a Orzhov deck at prerelease and the only rare/mythic I put in the deck was Elesh Norn, MOM. Elesh doubling the ''For Mirrodin'' triggers on my equipment and getting 2 rebels was super fun :P

I think you may be missing on Sylex, it will see standard play in RG Oil decks. The 10 damage is very easy and fast. I watched someone playing this kind of deck and it was just crushing player's with 10 damage whenever he came across it.
Think you might be underestimating filigree sylex a little here in not mentioning the 10 oil counters for 10 damage effect as that is actually a lot easier to achieve then you might think in a dedicated deck.
Red/green build with the two red one drops that get an oil counter whenever you cast a noncreature spell. Also running the 1 green sorcery that either searches a land or proliferates, as well as the 1 and a green sorcery that gets a permanent back and proliferates. And the 2 and a red artifact that makes a haste trample dude every turn. And the red/green legend that enters with 5 oil counters. This deck is running like a well oiled machine ;D
I got red suns twilight, didn't use it in prerelease but I have 4 color tokens that will go into. Also my promo was the white dominus, also going into the token deck. Played Golgari with the vorrac and the small tyyranax glissa and a bloated, won 1 round outright, then lost 2 going 1/3. Only got one black kill spell. Tyvars stand is technically a 1 drop.

I built Skrelv Abzan because o’ you! And I am LOVING it! Skrelv into Melira into Tyvar always feels great, I also smashed it together with you Tyvar Sticky fingers, which is loads of fun! Most disgusting thing it’s done so far is Skrelv into Jawbone Dualist into Tyvar -> 7 poison on turn three… and it’s real fun that Melira blanks Poison Ivy decks, and monowhite Skrelv

Good cards, but a lot of them were just too slow/finnicky. Good to see all the overstatted 3 drops.

I recently pulled an Elesh Norn Mother of Machines, and a Mondrak Glory Dominus in the same booster pack. I've never pulled as many chase cards in a set as I have in this one. Four Mondrak total, three Elesh Norn, including one stamped compleated foil. I fucking love this set.

I'm skeptical about Blade of Shared Souls.
The creature it creates does not get any of the ETB effects of the creature you are cloning.
Imo that doesn't make a 3 mana clone that's reusable necessarily bad, just a bit less flexible.

Elesh norn isn't a sheoldred, but it's also quite a good end of curve card for stax or combo decks
Once her price drops I'll get a bunch of copies for my Boros Stax Pioneer deck.

I got an scheming aspirant in my pre release and a vraska. One of the games I played that combo won me the game. I got to draw a card, proliferate, gain 1 life, and they lost 2... it can be pretty good.
If I get to play a simic or bant poison deck I'll be quite pleased. I'm still playing selesnya enchantments pretty exclusively, I likes what I likes, and that would satisfy.
You do get a new toy with this set: that 2-mana exile enchantment that attaches to a land...assuming you are playing enough basics that is.

You don't need to proliferate indestructible counters. Once its on there, the creature remains indestructible unless the counter is removed. It isn't like a shield counter that is removed once the creature is damaged or "destroyed"
Just be wary of glissa.
There are plenty of cards that remove counters and there is no reason not to, there is no detriment, only benefit to proliferating something like an indestructible counter. (Also there are cards that take counters and move them around)

While I think Dev's inner Timmy is getting the better of him ranking Tyvar as the best planeswalker in the set, it has lots of potential. Besides the base level functions of giving a creature pseudo vigilance, and enabling reanimator strategies, there's plenty of strong interactions with already heavily played cards.
As he mentioned, Bloodtithe Harvester can be used for removal immediately, and reanimated later. And Reflection of Kiki-Jiki can copy something the turn it flips. Twice actually because Tyvar can untap it.
Also you can crew Bankbuster, draw a card, then untap it and draw another card. Or attack, then untap it and draw a card. The new mana dork that gets +3/+0 if it has three or more oil counters can be levelled up as early as turn four. Even better probably, play Llanowar Loamspeaker and animate two 3/3 lands with haste.

Zenith Chronicler triggers off of your own multicolored spells, too, not just your opponent's. It could potentially be added *to* the grixis deck.

Only problem with that is mana. Won't be able to cast obliterator after nahiri unless you have all duel lands turns 1, 2 and 3

Mondrak is sick, i agree it deserves no 2, but it does have to sacrifice artifacts to become indestructible. Still, probably playing orzhov, which means deadly dispute is a thing. Assuming thats still in standard i havent checked
