I didn't wanna make this video but I still did for a few reasons:
a. To educate
b. To show different perspectives
I'm not saying wtvr I said in the video is absolute, nor am I saying that you must listen to me. I'm just showing a different perspective. Been getting too many DMs with stuff like "den got robbed", "gbb rigged" etc. Den himself is proud of the results but there are still people who are complaining 🤦🏾♂

I think it makes sense structurally if you compare it to music outside of beatbox but for this type of competition it makes sense you want to keep moving up; especially considering that wildcards that got in had steady progression throughout.

Appreciate the insight. I loved what I heard from Den, because it ticked all my boxes of preferences: Musical. Good singing. Unique and new techniques.
I had him in my top 8 but I can agree that he doesn't quite make the cut, because he is still young and there is some things he can polish.
That being said: I am 100% sure he'll blow up within the next 2 years, he has insane potential.

Here are my thoughts.
When I saw Den at 10th, I freaked out. I remember being on Napom's chat saying "noooo" or "rip". In my mind, I was saying "oh wow Den got effing robbed". So, I started nitpicking the mistakes of the chosen top 20 of the official panel. If we're being critical about it, there are a handful of minor pitch errors in almost all of the wildcards. Do I think Den should've been in? Yes. But do I invalidate the official judging and the insane effort of others? No. At the end of the day, we're still getting a great event and everyone will be happy (unless the GBB19 robbery incident happens again LOL). Anyways, this is just my two cents. stitch analysis made it looks professional, not to say other beatboxer like chezame or sxin or alem aren't really good, they all are very good with their own analysis but by far I'm only seeing stitch and madox are the one that made look their analysis professional. I do think it says alot that on the Top 7 announcement, nearly all the judges were upset Den wasn't in Top 7. So I don't think its unreasonable to be upset he didn't get in, if thats what the judges thought too.

I don't agree with the first thing you said about his wildcard, the performance can stay on the same level for a while just to recall what the theme is and then go up with a better drop, almost like every song and famous song does this so I don't really understand your point
Very true. It can stay stagnant, but how will it compare to other wildcards that keep going higher as the routine goes? As a track, a music piece and song, being stagnant can work very well. But as a wildcard (especially a gbb wildcard), choosing to be stagnant/same level in some areas or choosing to go higher as the routine goes, could be a tiny difference that either decides if you're in the top 7 or not

@@stitch_mus1c I agree. That might be a reason for the judging. Me, personally, I still think it flows nicely and fits good with his melodic theme. He's not trying to make it all rise and is not afraid to make a song.

This video is very important for community. When SBX annoucemented winners of wildcards, people trash talking about DEN's position in ranking. This video is answer for others, why judges probably don't choosed him as top7 :) everybody have diffrents taste so we should as a community of Swissbeatbox respect their decisions :)

Lol bro I am not hater but musical beatboxers should keep such a structure. You can't always go up sometimes give crowd to enjoy the music. Brings up previous flow, melody and added some other sounds. In my opinion, this is really good musical structure. Your wildcard was insane. But you also had same things, sounds. And in the moment with tongue flute you wasn't going up, you were like horizontal line(I can't explain with other words

I had same sounds. But i used differently with differently textures. The tongue flute moment was a little stagnant, but by introducing another poly texture i made people wonder. And that gave a nice touch with the dynamics

Great critical analyzing.....I really liked the way you pointed out the nature of the wildcard...that it should go high and high...and at the end bring back the melody. But I was very sad and at the same time surprised as well when he didn't make it in the top 7. Really helpful....it would be grt if you give your opinion on other wildcards as well.... Big ups bro

I had him at #2 too. I can also agree that the structure could’ve been a little more rising/progressive. But again (like you said too)...he still should have been in. I think in the context of a 2 minute wildcard...the structure was nice and it felt like a complete song. Either way...sad to see him get robbed but nothing we can do about it now.

Codfish got in 2018 with a similar structure so I don’t rlly agree with your verdict but I do see your point.

I disagree with your point on the way his structure fell off, because every time he brings back the main melody, he adds new elements to it. Specifically if you listen from 0:58 to 1:02. Now if you go and listen to 1:43 to 1:48, where it's the same general melody, there are an obvious 3 or 4 things that he added to the section to spice it up, and it was definitely noticable the first time I heard the wildcard for me to go "damn, he spiced it up." So I think structurally, it doesn't actually fall off there because there's enough variation to justify him repeating the melody. Same for the last time he does it where he mixes in even more variation taken from the second drop. Basically what I'm saying is that every time the melody was brought back, he did something to make it fresh and unique from the previous times, which for me means the routine never went "up and down" as you described, but instead kept rising the whole way through.

Honestly, i dont understand why they picked old champs like Alem&Alexinho. Its like - they can choose 7 guys every year and it'll be a battle between 7 champs for the wildcards, which makes no sense for other peoples to make any wildcard because there is older champs. I honestly dont understand the sense to let older champs get in every year. If you got any valuable reason - please explain.
