Great drone. I hit a powerline at about 200 ft above a canyon. The drone fell into a snow bank. I couldn’t recover it for 4 days. In the mean time it had rained and snowed. I recovered it, dried it out for 48 hours, changed the props, calibrated it and it flew as good as new. I was so stoked!!
that is a miracle! gotta watch out for those power lines though, they will sneak up on you. even my mini 4 pro has the 360 degree obstacle avoidance, but I still play it safe........those power lines are something else!
I love my Air 2. Awesome kit! It flies very well and does pretty good in wind, flies really easy, and is a good enough size not to be blown all over creation.
I love my air 2. I got the fly more and bought an extra battery as well always helps. I want to buy a couple more as well. Here’s another tip for slowing down in sport mode. I’ll pull back on the direction stick, and push up on the altitude stick and it will slow down a lot faster since it is tilted backwards.
My first drone was the Air 2 after a lot of research. Very happy with it. I did learn the hard way about Sport mode. Went sideways into a tree and broke one arm off. Luckily the wires were ok. DJI repaired it in no time. I also have the FPV and a Mini 3 pro.
Another thing about the batteries is that they tend to swell. Doesn’t affect flight time, but it can be a bit tight when installing on the drone. I love my air 2 for the reasons you mentioned. It was an upgrade from a mini 2 and it’s a whole lot more of a drone in every way. It’s not huge like a Mavic Pro or phantom, but it’s big enough to negotiate less than ideal wind. And of course there’s the camera that takes great pictures and video.
I first noticed when I was installing the battery and noticed there was some resistance and had to give it some extra force to make it click. When I checked the other two batteries they have a bit of a bulge on the bottom part. Looked it up and it’s fairly common. These drones turn 4 this year and were recently removed from DJI’s lineup (although the 2S still available). But they’re good drones. Another thing about the camera is that it’s not a true 48mp camera so you’re better off shooting at 12mp raw and upscale them in post. The 12mp raw image gives you more room than the 48 in post.
This is a great video. I got my Air 2 back from Mavic yesterday after being repaired. Their support is unbeatable. Why did I need support? I was half asleep, doing creative video of a NEW building. Well, for some reason I was in sport mode, got Up and Fwd mixed up and flew wide open into a brick wall. I had to laugh at myself. DJI support had me repaired and shipped back in less than a week. Sport mode = ID10T mode. :)
lol!.........yea, sport mode is very very risky. crashed once in sport mode and I cried a little inside. Luckily it was good crash and it didnt directly hit the ground....Bush broke its fall. I dusted it off and she flew again! Glad you got your drone back and you can fly again 👍
can you say why i only have 4k in 30 fps only? i checked all the settings. i have 2 apps dji go 4 and dji fly and both showing only 4k 30fps. on cinematic. on normal. on sport, on every settings. there is not 4k 60fps@@jessiesdroneadventures7464
Great video Jessie! Outstanding review on all that the Air 2 is capable of doing. I do have a question. Recently, I have been doing videos for a minute or so and I cannot compress them on any of the editing platforms. What do you use to compress videos for TH-cam, Instagram and so on. Thanks
Thank you! Glad it helped. I don't compress them, I usually render them in 1080p, I just change the dimensions depending on what platform I'm uploading them too
Does this drones camera zoom? I'm debating between this and the mini pro 3 or whatnot but I want something w a zoomable camera while recording. Ty in advance
Yes! It does! So in "4K zoom mode" it can zoom in x2 and in 1080p it can zoom in up to x4. But when you use zoom in 4k it only lets you shoot in 30fps. That might matter to some and might not matter to others. Depends on what your achieving....also when you zoom in when your shooting in 1080p, it will allow you to shoot in 60fps! Hope this helps! Happy flying!

I don't fly my mavic air 2 as much as I used to. But even when I do, I haven't noticed any reduction in battery life. I also take really good care of my batteries and store them properly, had the same batteries since the end of 2021 and they still work fine 👍
Would you say this is still an ideal drone to get for someone wanting a drone for wedding photography? (Not really video as much) I’ve been looking & am pretty fascinated with FPV (have fun with it on the side of photography) but not sure if it would wear both hats. What do you think?
I would say yes! Here's why. Because this one shoots 48 megapixels allowing more detail in pictures, " you can crop in without compromising too much quality....and because it weighs more than the DJI mini models meaning it will stabilize better when in the air and resist wind better. Although a DJI Mavic mini will still shoot 12 megapixel photos which is still pretty good, and you wouldn't have to register it bc it's under 259 grams....just something too keep in mind

Absolutely!! The amount of knowledge your going to have about the airspace world afterwards is worth it. I've definitely become a more confident pilot in terms of knowing where I can fly, how high I can fly etc etc. Kind of gives you a greater appreciation for being able to fly drones.

If I did more drone photography for realtors and companies, I'd probably stay up to date with the latest and greatest, but my main use is to get B Roll for my travel videos ,so right now, I don't see the need.....but to answer your question more directly, I don't think you need to make the upgrade UNLESS there is something really significant that the Mav 3 has that you need. Then you can edit them directly on your phone and don't need a laptop. I would also recommend using the app called " inshot" it's what I use to edit my shorter clips.....works great!....hope this helps! 👍

I've got a mavic air 2 but am having trouble finding an app that I can download on my android...the go fly doesn't download. I don't know what app people are using these days for the air2

It just depends on why you are upgrading and what you will get out of it and what you can do with a mini 3 that you cant do with your current drone
Couldn't tell ya, could be a possibility they might not restock it. They probably aren't making them any more since the Mavic 3 models came out would be my guess
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 If it’s been discontinued, it should say that on their website so I’m not waiting forever for it to be back in stock. I would buy the Mavic Air 2 for that price. But if it’s never going to be back in stock, then I will just buy the Mini 3 pro. There’s still not a Mavic Air 3.
Somebody I know has one of these for sale. They want $700 for four batteries A fly more combo, the drone and the controller and everything that came with it …… the only problems that I can see with the drone are two scratch marks along the folding arms, where it looks to be scratching, or pressing up against the drone shoot it folds up at the joint. It’s only two of the arms and I just can’t wrap my head around what it would be. He claims there’s only seven hours of fly time. He claims there’s never been a crash….. says that I can fly the drone for as long as I want before I purchase it….. he sounds confident in his listing, and since I already have an air 2s it’s using the same battery as my air 2s. . So it wouldn’t be such a bad model to buy Iab😊
yes and no.....lemme splain!......yes but not in the format like a cellphone. you can turn on the gridlines and you just have to keep your subject in the center and then crop out the side in post. Recommend shooting in 4k.
Hey I need your help, I am having a problem with my Mavic Air 2 as when I try to hand launch and use auto take-off the drone s what's to take off with a vengeance. I do not let it go as I am fear that it will take off fly away. I have to flip it over to stop it. Can you help?
We'll, sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. If I'm uploading drone flyover videos, I'll shoot those in 4k, but if I'm doing a video like this where I'm jumping between being on camera and a mixture of other shots, I don't see the need to
hey should i worry about the batteries? since I've heard a lot about them puffing up that's pretty much what I'm trying to find out about before buying it
Good question, in my experience I would say there is nothing to worry about. I've had the same 4 batteries since I bought my Mavic air 2 backing 2021, and they have not puffed up, although I do take very good care of them and keep them stored consistently at room temperature, which is something that should always be done.....you'll be fine 👍
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 alright thanks a lot but I do live in a pretty humid and hot place (Thailand) do you think it's going to be a big concern?

The Mavic Air 2 is on sale for $559 on the DJI store, but it's out of stock. Any ideas when it will be back in stock?
Couldn't tell ya, could be a possibility they might not restock it. They probably aren't making them any more since the Mavic 3 models came out would be my guess
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 If it’s been discontinued, it should say that on their website so I’m not waiting forever for it to be back in stock. I would buy the Mavic Air 2 for that price. But if it’s never going to be back in stock, then I will just buy the Mini 3 pro. There’s still not a Mavic Air 3.
I completely agree, and if you buy a Mav 3, might as well wait till Black Friday, I'm sure they'll have deals on it
Somebody I know has one of these for sale. They want $700 for four batteries
A fly more combo, the drone and the controller and everything that came with it …… the only problems that I can see with the drone are two scratch marks along the folding arms, where it looks to be scratching, or pressing up against the drone shoot it folds up at the joint.
I ended up buying a lightly used Mavic Air 2 with 2 batteries for $500 on eBay.
Does it have a follow mode?
It sure does!
Can this take vertical video ?
yes and no.....lemme splain!......yes but not in the format like a cellphone. you can turn on the gridlines and you just have to keep your subject in the center and then crop out the side in post.
Quick question, when you say "auto-take off" do you mean pulling down on the joysticks to launch without calibrating?
No, I mean using the touch screen. I hope this helps.@@jessiesdroneadventures7464
Jessie's-like it-really good ~ 🤙
Thank you!
Good video, why don’t you upload in 4k?
We'll, sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. If I'm uploading drone flyover videos, I'll shoot those in 4k, but if I'm doing a video like this where I'm jumping between being on camera and a mixture of other shots, I don't see the need to
hey should i worry about the batteries? since I've heard a lot about them puffing up
that's pretty much what I'm trying to find out about before buying it
Good question, in my experience I would say there is nothing to worry about. I've had the same 4 batteries since I bought my Mavic air 2 backing 2021, and they have not puffed up, although I do take very good care of them and keep them stored consistently at room temperature, which is something that should always be done.....you'll be fine 👍
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 alright thanks a lot
but I do live in a pretty humid and hot place (Thailand) do you think it's going to be a big concern?
Not at all, my drone has been exposed to some of the coldest climates and hottest climates. It's all about where store them, as long as they are stored in a consistently regulated area, " indoors at room temp" I promise you will be fine. Peopl buy and fly drones all around the world. Store them safely.....you'll be ok
Do you know how large you can blow up a photo for print?
I would say pretty large, I took a photo of a beach in San Diego, and blew it up to a 20 x 30 inch print. Came out crystal clear 👌
I have one also…..this thing is a f**king TANK!!!
Heck it is!!!! Good to know there is still people rocking the Mavic Air 2
Thanks, You Are The Man
Hey thanks!!! Appreciate that, glad this video helped 👍
where in the US can you have your drone repaired,?
I've never had to have my drone repaired.....but if I did, I would start with the manufacturer
Does it have a follow me option?
Yes! I've just never used it.....never needed it
What the right app to use to fly the damn thing..
DJI Fly app
Great, might Update my drone to make better Videos.
Sometimes you gotta do it! I filmed with the GoPro Drone for about 3 years before I upgraded, and I'm so glad I did! Technology advances quickly!
thx
No Prob!
im buying a Mavic air 2 2nd hand for $800 NZD ($488 USD) it also come with 4 batteries.
Solid choice 👍 I have the mini 4 pro now, but I still use my Mavic air 2 for those heavier wind conditions....still an amazing drone!
It's not actually a 48mp camera though, it's a 12mp camera that used tech to bump to 48mp
Can we just talk about how much more expensive the Mavic 3 is? Looks like everyone is cashing out nowadays
we sure can! by the time ill have funds for it, the mavic 4 will be out!
Thanks for sharing your negative experiences as helpful tips for others. Hey, that’s CHRIST-like. 👍🤛
Hey thank you for checking out the video! Glad you enjoyed it!
Cropping in will always compromise on video quality, no matter the resolution.
Why is it so hard to hook the phone to the drone
I picked mine for $600
nice!
Fly More Combo Pack or just the drone and Remote?
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 Fly more package!!! He said he is short rent money for this month and sold me for $600
@@Dudevegaslv thats a good deal!!! 👍
Collision sensors at the end of the arms? No.
0:33 said no one ever. Seriously 😂??

4k/24fps ftw
Why would I listen to a drunk? I just turned your video off when you said specially when you drink goodbye
You did the right thing!
