It's expected that Donald Trump if elected president would drop charges against Julian Assange, meanwhile the Biden administration has assured that the WikiLeaks founder won't face the death penalty, says Assange's brother Gabriel Shipton.

Trump had a 4 year opportunity to drop the charges against Assange. Now, Trump verbalizes this issue since he is on the campaign trial.
That means that the charges won't be dropped then.

I have followed and supported Julian's work since around 2007 and I am a supporter of Trump. I would very much be influenced politically if you are able to substantiate your comment here. Its very unusual to be able to make such an impact via a youtube chat but I am deadly serious. The way in which these to figures' politics intersect is very important to me and so I would be grateful for you insight into this. You have the opportunity to change my mind in real time.

If you recall history correctly, it was the Swedish government that was investigating him. After his arrest, they dropped that investigation as it lacked evidence. It was a ploy by the US government though, as there are less extradition barriers in Sweden.
The claim that Trump is a protector of a free press denies both history and logic. It’s actually kinda hilarious that anyone could fall for it.
