I have to admit I am really happy with my LENOVO THINK PAD 430. It was very reasonably priced. It starts up really fast and rapid speed. The screen is especially sharp. It has a sturdy build, as if it were meant be used outside from time to time. It even has a DVD drive in it!

I've had my Dell inspiron laptop for 14 yrs now! I have it set to when I close the lid it goes into sleep mode. It has always been plugged into wall socket too.
I thought my HP Beats laptop @ $750, bought as a demo model for $535 was great at 8 years! The thing was loaded for the day with a fingerprint reader, and all the goodies plus Beats Audio. The screen is still operating, but needs to be replaced which I likely won't do, but great laptop all in all. I'll have to check out Dell after reading your comment, thanks! I was already looking at the HP 17 he spoke of in this review, and will likely get that as I have had 3 great experiences with HP products, but who knows.
@@casiesilverman You need to reload Windows. There should be a backup copy of your original files when you first bought it new. This will restore everything to it's original state as new. It will likely speed things up a bit, and is your best bet. Just make sure you have the Windows key that came with your computer, and be prepared with another copy of Windows should you need it. Don't forget to backup all the files you want to keep as this reload of Windows will delete everything, unless there is an option to save personal files. I recommend just doing a full reinstall, and it should help.
Just got the Windows Surface 9 for $1499 plus keyboard and pen to almost $1700. Just started my Master’s a week ago and wanted to upgrade my MacBook I got in 2016. It was quite a change going from windows to apple…and honestly just prefer the simplicity of windows. Now I’m going to change my surface to one of these options. Hey, I’m just letting y’all know, the Lenovo IdeaPad three that I got for the supposedly good battery life does not have a good battery life. After a week of consistent use can confidently say this laptop taps out after about 3 1/2 hours if you have the battery saver on.

Acer laptops always have broken-hinge problem after a few years. Everything else will work fine but you won't be able to open or close the laptop. And it's not by mistake but by design. The hinge of Acer laptops is designed to break after a few uses.
