      Do you ever have problems with things deteriorating once in resin? I’ve thought of doing a few but wasn’t sure how they would last long term?

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Moriah Nash Anything containing moisture will deteriorate over time. For example: fresh flowers, candy, fruit (even dried fruit still contains some moisture). Anything completely dry should last very well, as resin is a very effective encapsulant.

    This is awesome! I didn't know that those dies would cut aluminum. Time to break out my scrapbooking supplies for more uses!
    Can I just give a quick tip? Turn your die cutting mat over each time you use it. It won't bow like it is of you do. You can your it now and use it until it flattens then just turn it every time after that.

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the tip 😊👍 Yes they cut thin aluminium like soda cans. They also leave a nice finish on the edge, so the pieces aren't sharp and take on a more three-dimensional appearance 😎♠

    I've noticed in a lot of your videos that sometimes you use UV resin instead of epoxy. In what cases is one preferable to the other?

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi 😊 I tend to use UV resin as an adhesive, and when I need to cure it instantly. There's no reason why you couldn't use it for making the cabochons in this video, but where I live UV resin is £82.50 per Kg, while my epoxy resin is only £25 per Kg, so UV is an expensive alternative. 😎♠

    so, dumb question, and beg pardon if you've answered it on another video: where do you get your dropper tool that you use to place small amounts of resin in a project, and is there a way to clean them after use? OH, and I meant to say I LOVE your videos!

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you 😊 It's called a pipette and I buy them from Amazon in packs of 100. You can squeeze out the excess resin after use, then let any residual cure before using them again. Sometimes you have to snip the end off if it gets blocked.

    I was wondering how u can do that..Isnt that patented as the pepsi logo? that first one..oh and why do you use the flame on it please

    • @resinAce
      @resinAce  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no law against upcycling tin cans for personal use. If you were selling them commercially for profit then it may be an issue. The flame will pop any air bubbles that have risen to the surface.

      Thank you! The machine is called a Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine, but there are other brands available. The punch is by XCut, but any metal punch should work. They are stocked in the UK at Hobbycraft and The Range, but I don't know about anywhere else. Any good craft store that sells papercraft supplies should stock them or something similar.
