《馬可福音》第8章31節-9章1節 耶穌預言自己的死

在彼得因為宣告耶穌真實的身分而被讚揚後，耶穌接著告訴門徒衪「必須受許多的苦」(8章31節)。門徒一聽到彌賽亞必須受苦，必定感到非常不安，彌賽亞豈不是強大得勝的？為什麼耶穌卻提到受苦呢？當他們還在思想衪剛說的話，耶穌接下來就透露了更多的細節，衪會被宗教領袖棄絕並且殺害，但三天後衪將復活(8章31節)；「耶穌明明地說這話」(8章32節) --- 這裡衪沒有使用象徵性的說法，這一切事情將要發生，都是因為人類犯罪和上主的愛。
在8章34-38節中提到耶穌對門徒的勸話，門徒聽起來可能會覺得沮喪，因為他們期待天國以不同的方式降臨，但是耶穌向他們保證這群人當中有人「必要看見上帝的國大有能力臨到」。
After Peter was praised for declaring Jesus' true identity, Jesus went on to tell his disciples that he "must suffer many things" (8:31). The disciples must have felt very uneasy when they heard that the Messiah had to suffer. Wasn’t the Messiah powerful and victorious? Why did Jesus mention suffering? While they were still thinking about what He had just said, Jesus went on to reveal more details. He would be rejected and killed by the religious leaders, but He would be resurrected three days later (8:31); “Jesus said this plainly. "Word" (8:32) --- He is not using figurative language here. All these things are going to happen because of human sin and God's love.
Referring to Jesus’ words to his disciples in 8:34-38, the disciples might sound frustrated because they expect the Kingdom to come in a different way, but Jesus assured them that someone in the group “Will see that the kingdom of God has come with power”.
