    The only thing this will do, is cause the Kpop industry to tighten their grip on their idols.
    I think companies will even start refusing westerners and foreigners again.

      @@monotzukokuureshii What are you talking about? Never happened to other Asian Idols? Elkie from CLC was forced out by Cube for speaking out about mistreatment and management of her money. Plenty of other examples of (Asian) foreigners being mistreated, not-to-mention the countless Korean Idols who challenge their companies (Chuu comes to mind, as well as the rest of Loona).

    I’m not sure if this will affect the industry in Korea too much-trainee abuse isn’t something new; it’s a known thing. But obviously, it still doesn’t make it okay. HOWEVER, this will likely affect how people in the US view Kpop. From overworking minors to mentally abusing them to the point of self harm and such is a big no-no, especially in LA (very liberal), where KG filed the lawsuit. It will be difficult for any Kpop groups to break out in the US now.
    I feel so bad for the other VCHA girls and other idols that have gone through this.

  • @andrewtaylor940
    @andrewtaylor940 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

    The thing that really adds weight to Kiera’s claims. Unlike other k-pop groups, JYP’s international project is based in California. Most of VCHA is or was underage. And California has very strict child labor laws, razor focused on the entertainment industry. JYP has appeared to endeavor to break all of them. By claiming “they don’t apply to trainees!”. This is not viewed as a strong argument when you’ve bullied a 14 year old into downing a whole bottle of pills.

      @@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621only the western countries don't allow or like minors to debut , apparently it is pretty common in kpop , cpop , jpop , tpop as well. Many netz and fans want idols who are younger and companies want it because they can work for a lot of years to make money for them. As you may know that after 30 many idols change their career to only acting or other things. So they don't debut idols who are older than 20

    I find it important that people start boycotting the industry they shouldn’t hear K-pop anymore. If their idols are gonna get treated like this, they shouldn’t support it and I think it’s very disgusting of how people think she’s lying. If she was lying that it would be obvious but nobody was saying anything warnings no nowhere. It should be important that people stop that stop listening to K-pop. I think that could get the companies to do something, but it’s obviously not gonna change And I think it’s time to do something about it but I’m just a little teardrop of thousands of thousands of fans that are still not listening, that’s my opinion

    Look, the girls knew what they were getting into, but it was never in the contract that the girls would be forced to work injured with the company even ignoring doctors saying they should rest. That's not Kpop, that's just a company being arrogant and stupid and KG's right to call them out.
    As to the members being young, one more time. The members of a kpop group are not just performers, they're atheletes, and they train like atheletes. Olympic gymnasts start as young as do school football and baseball squads. Many trainees have also already been child models or commercial actors. Training is tough, but most of the agencies respect their boundaries. Despite the contract squabbles agencies like YG and Cube have with their artists, none of the artists associated with them have ever accused them of deliberate physical mistreatment. YG even let Ahyeon go on a months-long break for medical issues that screwed up the debut of Babymonster but YG rolled with it and now Baemon is firing on all cylinders.
    It's funny that the KMCA is waving THE END IS COMING!!! placards over New Jeans when KG's lawsuit is far more likely to impact the system. New Jean's situation is pretty unique since it's the spill-over of the initial MHJ fight and even the members have never claimed physical abuse, only emotional abuse. JYPE is in deep shit over this, and this combined with the ongoing NJ actions, is likely to get "Hanni's Law" passed and put notice to the agencies to clean up their acts.

    Kpop industry is brutal and her abuse is nothing new. You are taken sides on allegations. She's not the first to try to get out of a contract. What about the other members? What if she can't handle the pressure of being an idol? What if her talent has reached it's limits and shows no potential improvement? Wait until all the facts are out before making judgment. It's a brutal industry!

    6,,,It is estimated that Korean entertainment companies depend on the US or Europe for about 1/3 of K-pop,,However, if only TH-cam releases are blocked, the Korean entertainment industry will see a 10% decrease in operating profit and sales for the time being,,,,This will not be a big burden for Korean entertainment companies,,The effect of this is huge First of all, we need to prevent damage to Korea's national image caused by these various incidents and accidents. I hope that the import/consumption of K-pop in the US and Europe will be completely blocked... As time goes by, most K-pop fans will disappear from these regions.

    Well said, I am glad that there are fans liike you. This is quite simple you cant bear and be paitent with KPOP system, don't try to join...I wanna tell this KG why heck did u even make the contract and you wanna leave for a freedom completely ignoring the contract. Yeah...she is 16 and a child....so what...business is business and a contract is a contract. NO companies allows any artists do their own music or buisness while they are legally under tha company. NO one know what really happened to KG. I think it is not a fair to just believe her claims only. She is like she wanna be a super star but don't wanna do the homework. Well she did not know she was suppoesed to practice many hours a day ?.... If she injured she should have more strongly told her managers that she is seriously in pain. I think she might have used her injury to run away and use it as a weapon to sue jype. This is my thought on her and we never know. I just hate ppl the law says we are suppoesed to work for a certain amount of time...and then want to be rich and get fame. No sucessful ppl work for a normal hour like anyone eles. People suceed b.c they work harder and deligent than ordinary ppl. KG just was not that type of person do endure it. Please don't even try to be kpop idols if you gonna sue the comapany for being forced to practice a lot lol. This is simply you don't like it? then don't do it thing...

The west are not super accepting of minors anymore compared to the 2000s and there were minors everywhere (I was a "tween" i those times). People saying the west is just as bad as korea, need to release that the incidents they mention when saying "west is as bad as korea" all happened a long time ago and tougher laws have since been put into place, especially since the sag strike. Minors shouldn't debut regardless if Gina was "a young lady" at Kaylee's age

  • @Karin.889
    @Karin.889 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Idk how everything is going to turn out in the court and I am not even fully convinced with kg's claims as well ( I'm not saying she's lying or anything ) but abt the company debt most of idols have it and they pay it in the following years after their debut. As far as ik jype never forces their idols to pay for the debt they have , they settle their debt slowly after they get fame and profits. Also I'm not sure abt how the California pay system works but if we go by the Korean system idols are the one who pay for their makeups , rents and bills ( until they live the company dormitories) so with the amount of money they get paid most of them is spent on the other expenses. Obviously I'm very much disappointed by the staff jype usa have because they have to face racism which caused the girls to have mental instability. The diet culture is also very toxic but it is what the truth is , all the idols/trainees have to go through this strict diet to fit the so called beauty standards or else they will be bullied online by netz so the company has to force them to go through such diets I'm sure they had cultural shocks after learning the diet system because ik Western and American artists don't care much abt those things at all. But all the idols let it be kpop, jpop, cpop every of them has to go through it, ig it is only the problem in Asia ( as ppl are often judged more by their appearances ). Abt the production stuff obviously most of the idols are not allowed to do it only a few handful idols who mastered in production, and writing are allowed by the companies to do it and as we know kg was already and artist before she must have felt bad abt not getting to produce and write but we also have to consider that she can't just write whatever she wants to produce because they have to follow the grp concept as well.
    Well anyways I hope the court helps kg to get away from it and jype let her go easily without much hassle as they always did with their other ex artists.

  • @Real-ranchia
    @Real-ranchia หลายเดือนก่อน

    2,,,I live in Korea and know K-pop in detail, but no trainee, parent, or media criticizes this,,,because everyone lives like that in Korea,,,if they feel pain from 12 hours of lessons and dieting every day, they are no longer in the company, and if they feel abuse or pain, the company will kick them out before that,,so they only get a short trainee experience and return to being ordinary people,,and then they will try to find another job,,
    Only about 10% of trainees enjoy the glory of debuting as singers,,90% They say they dropped out,,,In fact, there are so many male and female trainees in Korea who dropped out in the middle,,But it is not treated as a social problem.

    In the US and Europe, I think we should maintain album purchases and concerts as before, this is only consumed within the fandom,,It is definitely harmful to the general public, so it should be blocked It is necessary

  • @Real-ranchia
    @Real-ranchia หลายเดือนก่อน

    To foreigners who criticize the K-pop training system //
    1,,Korea is originally a society of hard work and high intensity with high pressure, and it would not be against or negative to give 12 hours of lessons a day to aspiring K-pop trainees,, Rather, most Koreans would think [Why on earth can't they receive 12 hours of lessons a day?? ],,,you will think like this,,that is Korean,,,Koreans are people who believe that nothing is impossible,,
    ,,that is, even if it is against the law in the US, it is not illegal here in Korea,,,there is no such law,,,the Youth Protection Act prohibits work after 9pm,,,but the lessons that trainees receive are not strictly work,,

  • @Real-ranchia
    @Real-ranchia หลายเดือนก่อน

    3,,,,Since the company is completely denying the lawsuit filed for KG's abuse, it will just end as a mere incident, and because of that, the company's plan to create a localized group in the US will probably be abandoned,,,,The company should not have applied such Korean methods to Americans,,,,KG's fault was that if the training and life were that hard to endure, they should have consulted with the company, terminated their exclusive contract, and dropped out,,The same goes for any member who attempted suicide,,If the suicide is true, it is regrettable why they did not drop out before,,In fact, many K-pop idols drop out even after debuting,,,,Of course, they do not pay a penalty.
