Lady Ethereals fight was truly the point where i fell in love with this game, her attack patterns are so satisfying to block and dodge, the music is absolutely phenomenal, and the enviroment art looks ripped straight out of madoka magica which i live for, and it truly felt like it was my fault for dying so much, which really is the gold standard for any Difficult Game™ i did not particularly enjoy her third phase, but that is just a miniscule nitpick for an otherwise perfect boss fight
Just killed her after trying for 3 hours off and on.I am playing games since the days of SNES and boy this was THE hardest bossfight for me and I have played Sekiro, Hollow Knight,Ninja Gaiden, DS etc
So exciting, people's sense of the game almost always are so different. I struggled while playing sekiro much then playing 九日. In some reason it is lot more easier for me to parry in nine sols rather then in sekiro. But still this butterfly-winged lady is quite a challenge😅
Water Flow is the worst talisman option because when you hit her with the talisman, the clones stop attacking. As soon as the talisman connects every clone disappears and you have basically a free damage window. It makes the fight much easier once you learn this, you can use it in hectic situations in P3 even with 1 point just to calm things down for a second.
For the second and third phases I use the unbounded counter to take advantage of her melee atacks and build a lot of internal damage, finishing with a full talisman when the real one appears. 👌
This fight feels like a huge difficulty spike to me. I’m just starting to get to the third phase enough to start figuring out that spirit bomb attack. Seriously tough one.
Havent had trouble with any bosses this stupid pink fly comes along. Finally beat her after about 15 trys and... oh whats that? A third phase?! insta kills me with a spirit bomb.
Trying mastering Unbound Counter in this fight will set you up for next encounters to use it effectively & it also does a TON of internal damage. Similar to Tai-Chi Kick (jumping counter) you don't need to be facing the direction of attack to deflect. You can also Unbound counter that giant red bomb attack in the 3d phase. If anyone has problem holding a charged attack (I do have this issue), quick tip for 2nd phase, try to hit her once every time you get a chance. If hit is landed, stick the talisman immediately & do the damage. I would suggest using the Qi-blast talisman instead of any other as it deals a good amount of damage.
There's not really a ton of opportunities to use it, the down thrust has no wind up and neither does the side swipe, I feel like the previous boss is a much better place to get comfortable with it I'm on the boss now and there doesn't seem to be any sort of window to react and start charging much less time the release.
@Eltron92 Trust me, it FEELS like those attacks have no wind up, because I used to think the same before, but they do have enough wound up to charge for an unbound counter. I beat her using it in boss rush & 2nd playthrough.
@GVGuidesOfficial at least for fewer, stronger enemies, take fc, in bigger groups i would take water, the damage full control does is great, but in situations where there's too much going on to get a fill 5 bomb off, water is better.

@ yeah I beat it last night. Took quite a while. I died several times with one hit left in the third stage

Tip i learned, for talisman mode, use full control and get 5 Qi charges, a 5 Qi charge does tons of damage.
Yeah, never ended up experimenting with that as I liked Water too much.

If you do tai chi kick on the red attack, it will stun her if its the real one.
