Given that Stardew Valley is essentially at the top of it's game in the genre, doesn't take a genius to understand why people will draw comparisons to new farm / life sims that appear.
This looks great. People can enjoy both.
@Rafil Alif If you believe so, then do you. For many, Stardew held the reigns five years ago when drawing inspiration from Harvest Moon & reigniting the genre, and it continues to do so.
Yeah, especially the 1.5 update is mind blowning.
@Rafil Alif to be fair, I've never heard anyone talk about seasons. But I've met many who know about/love SDV.
@Rafil Alif I've played both and definitely agree stardew is much more fun, at least in my opinion.
@@madi4694 story of seasons is the alternative title to Harvest Moon since the split years ago. Harvest Moon lost its charm after the split, but the creators of Story of Seasons kept the charm, they just couldn't keep the title for legal reasons.
This makes me want to cry. I'm so happy ConcernedApe came into our lives and breathed some life into this nearly dead genre

This looks genuinely amazing. Everyone's calling it a Stardew Valley clone, which it obviously is, but I honestly just think we should see those kind of games (Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon, Littlewood, Roots of Pacha, etc.) as its own "new" genre. Something like a farm-life simulator maybe?
They always were part of it, Rune Factory included. Stardew just spawned some toxic elitists sadly
@@Thaltas Well one thing is to make a game that *looks* like a stardew but different style and different mechanics (like terraria vs starbound) and another is making literally *reskinned* stardew, Roots of pacha looks great, i won't argue, but i fear they just cloned everything, which is super unfair to stardew creator. But there is definitely should be more games like that
(I mean similar genre, gameplay type).

Does "Pacha" stand for 'Pachamama', like, 'The roots of mother earth' or is it the name of the protagonist, like 'The roots of our family'?
Pacha is a Quechua word for 'earth', with some ideas connected to it being fertility, nurturing, and the (under)ground, especially in opposition to the sky, or the sun. Hence, Pachamama is literally 'Mother Earth'. Quechua is the common language of the folk that was led by the Inca clan.

Pacha is a humble man who ventured far and wide with a llama companion, eventually helping usurp a madwoman from the throne of a kingdom and restoring peace to the land. It's obviously a subtle nod to such a grand fellow. ;)

Looks like a more fleshed-out Stardew Valley, which was a more fleshed-out Harvest Moon. I see iterations on the UI with the item selection wheel, more thoughtful cave/mine design, and a tech/research mechanic for upgrading your tools and buildings, among other things. Seems like it's more community-focused than even Stardew Valley too. Could be cool!
