Roots of Pacha sounds really good. I've been looking forward to this for years, and based on what you've described it sounds like I won't be disappointed. I'll have to check it out myself when I can. Also I like the way you pull together all of the pros and cons of a game at the end of your videos, it's a good reminder of exactly what was what, I appreciate that because I can be really forgetful 😅

I had planned on getting sun haven and this game once I spotted a sale (missed the last one). I love anything with prehistoric theme (my school degree is in anthropology). Thank you for this video. Also I thought was funny one of the npcs disliked poop 😂
I have played the demo of the game. Some aspects I did enjoy like fishing and exploring but travelling without a mount is time consuming. I 'm glad the villagers contribute to community instead of static NPCs who except you to do all of the work. So far MTAP has most NPC interaction. Not really sure if I can get the game, I have an eye out for Sunhaven which is currently on sales and new update dropped for Cult of the Lamb. Relics of the old faith.
incredible for first version of game ( given SDV vibes with regard to how complete it already is on release ) . And we pretty much know there will be updates . Just imagine this in a few years with lots of updates

It's super expensive. I was thinking it would be 20 dollars or something but it's like 30 something. I will wait for a big sale to buy this, from all the videos and this review I have watched I absolutely love the game, can't wait to try it one day. Thank u for the indept review
I'll buy it but i'm not a fan of puzzles hopefully someone comes out with vids with answers for them. I honestly wish these games had better romance systems tho or atleast make them comparible to the old rune factory's

Nice and organised review! For me a good story is one that can create tension through interactions with its worldbuilding, plot and characters. Even if the plot is weak, the characters can make up for it and vice versa. You mentioned that none of the characters really stood out to you but you still enjoyed the story. Is this due to a very good plot? I see that you mainly review farming sim games, so I am not sure if you have played titles like divinity original sin 2, the witcher 3 etc. How does the story of Roots of Pacha compare to that in your opinion? Also you mentioned that you had hoped to see more intricate relationships. I also do not generally like the relationships in farming sim games because it mainly revolves around throwing gifts at an NPC until that NPC likes you (like in Stardew Valley)or you pick dialogue options that are clearly demarcated to increase/decrease relationship points. The NPC's personality, character and circumstance does not matter whatsoever. Additionally, what would you like to see if you befriend an NPC? If you had infinite resources, what would you add to the relationship system to make it more engaging? Are there any farming sim games with a more robust and interesting relationship mechanic?
Thanks for the comment! When I say the story is interesting, it's mostly in comparison with other farming games, where the story is often absent or very generic. They're doing something a bit different here but it's definitely not to the level of The Witcher 3. With relationships, I like when there is some sort of reward in return. For example, in Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life, you get the strongest tools, as well as music records for befriending villagers. In some games, your spouse and/or children can help you with chores. In Rune Factory, your friends/family can fight alongside you. In older Harvest Moon games, other characters could get married to each other when you befriended them, so the town felt it was evolving. Overall, I think any kind of incentive that actually benefits your gameplay through items or getting help from friends makes things a lot more interesting.

Just bought the game and played for about 2 hours. I love it! Especially happy there's no combat. I find the gameplay immersive and unique.

I thought Sun Haven movement sucked. Everything feels slow and clunky. Never played it again after the first few hours.
you unlock the mount pretty early on about 2 hours in. as soon as u can attune animals and build trust after 3 days u can ride it
I love there is no combat. I like games that have combat, but it’s so refreshing to have a change.
