Thanks for this series of videos on archetypes. I'm going to work my way through all of them.
I was first introduced to Moore and Gillette's "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover" several years ago when I began participating in a men's group. They also wrote four other books, entitled "The Lover Within", "The Magician Within", "The Warrior Within" and "The King Within". Each goes into much more depth about these four principal archetypes and their shadow side. I have found them particularly useful in describing how (a) the shadow sides of each archetype manifest themselves in everyday life, and (b) the dysfunctional family and social relationships that give rise to the shadows. These four books can be difficult to find, though, and expensive even if second-hand. One place I found them was in though the library of one of the local universities here in Ottawa. In any case, all are worth tracking down for those who want to go into more depth on these archetypes.

I was raised a warrior in combat and in this mentality and was looking for a job for a warrior that doesn't involve me joining the army. Whenever I asked anyone to spar and fight voluntarily I was always shamed for it and i feel it's been destroying me emotionally. I feel like I belong in combat but that's frowned upon in today's society. I don't wish to be a monster but i wish to fight. What can i do and are there jobs that are pure fighting.

Ever thought about learning martial arts and building a career in UFC or other fighting sports?

Adhere to the 2 pillars (principles) of dignity and unconditional love. Align yourself with dignity, (not only with your actions and words, but also with your thoughts).
Dignity will develop your more masculine qualities. Unconditional love will develop your more feminine qualities. The King and the Warrior are more masculine. The Magician and the Lover are more feminine.
To counterbalance the femininity of the Lover, we must cultivate more of the masculinity of the King and the Warrior. The development and cultivation of dignity into ones character is the fundamental key to doing this, since the apex of masculinity is unadulterated dignity (conversely, the apex of femininity is unconditional love). The Warrior requires discipline, personal accountability, living for personal duty before personal pleasure, dictating your life by principles before emotions,
isolation, facing fears, abandoning the need for comfort and stepping into adversity and discomfort wherever you are imbalanced, setting boundaries for yourself and for what you expect from other people, do whatever needs to be done as soon as it needs to be done, become highly organized, optimize efficiency and effectiveness in your every thought, word and action, cultivate integrity in your every thought word and action, unify and become congruent in your every thought word and action (say what you think, and do what you say), develop personal fortitude and forbearance (ability to face adversity, endure long-suffering, self-control over your emotions and desires, resilience, backbone, courage to face fears), become grounded and present fully conscious in the hear and now, (become practical and rational), adhere to tradition over novelty, adhere to wisdom over intelligence (Wisdom is the effectiveness of "how" intelligence is used). The Magician is the philosopher and the focus of intelligence. The King is the focus of wisdom and thus, the master of intelligence.
The King is objective and impartial, and primarily mind centered, while the Warrior is primarily action centered. The King primarily focuses on changing thoughts, while the Warrior prinarily focuses on changing actions, behavior & words.

Jon Snow exemplified the utmost warrior ideal of building bridges rather than winning wars when he formed an alliance with the wildlings

Princess Mononoke is an excellent example of a healthy Warrior archetype protagonist manifesting the energy in prosocial, world-centric ways (a true warrior for peace).

Future Thinkers I’m really fascinated by the archetypes. Have you read King Warrior Magician Lover by Robert Moore? Excellent resource on this subject. For me, I’d love to explore it even deeper.

Thank you for the video. What's the best way for a romantic Lover to evolve? Is that balancing the Lover with the Warrior?

Perfect example of the warrior archetype can be found in the movie Star Wars the New Hope. The death star symbolize the shadow form of the warrior type that is hell bent on destroying and bullying everything. Luke's aunt and uncle symbolize a bit of the other shadow form of the warrior, aka the cowards, who want to be left alone yet end up suffering the most horrible fate in star wars. And then there is Luke Skywalker who represents the warrior archetype in all of its glory, for Luke destroyed they death star and brought a out a change in himself (the boy becoming a man) and a change in the Galaxy (fear the empire to stand up against the empire for their is hope in the Galaxy)

I liked the video, but they a terrible analisis of what capitalism actually is... I mean, “destroying someone else to be successfull” is not capitalism
