That's awesome! Thanks for the tutorial, I've always wanted that hubcap style, but never knew how to create that exact look until now!👍

Great, simple, and cheap! Props, man!
Only thing to improve is modifying the design to allow for better brake cooling, and maybe finding a way to make a universal design, kind of like rotiform aerodisks.

Pirelli P4's are good tires. I used to have them. Yokohama YK-GTX are much better in wet & dry braking, braking distance, and wet handling. You'll be happier with a set YK-GTX's.

Hi did you actually save fuel using these?

I first did this in 2011 so don't remember the exact amount, but yes this saved a small amount of fuel (less than 1 mpg). The wheel covers were already fairly smooth. The more holes and edges in the original rims, the bigger the savings.

You can have a smooth top cover with vents to fix the brakes from overheating.

Has anyone tried using expandable construction foam? Any ideas to do it less expensive? (resin price is a big no-no for me :( ) Thanks

With those wheel covers your brakes are not efficiently cooled.

  • @Tore_Lund

The amount people in the comments claiming the brakes will over heat! What do you think the purpose of smooth wheel covers are? Is it just a style statement to you? Then you have missed the point entirely. There is little difference between having the 6 dime sized holes covered on a steel rim or not. If you have problems with overheating brakes yourself, it is because you don't know how to drive!

This will cost you more in the long run, just buy turbo fans or something idk
