Mark Cuban’s Guide to Getting Rich | Vanity Fair
Shoulda just named the video “mark cuban gives reasonable financial advice”
@@stevewalker6240 Yeah, but his title is more realistic based on the advice given. The advice is very basic
Guess what, THAT's how poor people get rich. Most poor family i know stays poor for life simply because they're too stupid to consistently practice financial common sense
@@HilmyA.S. Yes most poor people stay poor but this is more of a recipe for getting middle class or upper middle class. If you made 100 grand a year and followed these steps, you will be doing well but not rich
@Steve Olson No... no it will not. That bs slowlane method will only come into fruition after about 50 years of compound interest, at which point you'll either be dead or on a wheelchair.
Wealth is supposed to be made and enjoyed whilst still young.
@@HilmyA.S. You're wrong. Most poor families are poor because they only get paid enough to survive. How're gonna save money that you need to live, genius?

There is no way any toothpaste poses harm. Expiration dates and "best by" dates on all marketed products are a fabulous marketing scheme and that is almost always it. Some drugs do degrade, so prescriptions need to be cleaned out, but toothpaste will be perfectly safe!

He's literally a billionaire and even he advises on saving money...and then there's those who like barely make 6 digits spendin like he has unlimited stores of money
Yup and theirs a reason keep on getting richer. Warren buffet couldve stopped and stayed a millionaire in the 1960s but kept on saving money
You don't get rich by spending. You get rich by saving and investing.
It’s all about building your assets
For some people it’s all about status and appearance unfortunately. It’s better to focus on creating income through investment.
You get rich by stopping buying things you don't need to impress people you don't even like and doesn't event care about you

Everyone in March 2020: WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN!!

Don’t gamble is also a solid piece of advice. Wish they told me that when I was 18. I lost more money in 15 years of gambling than most people make in their entire life. Left me bankrupt and lost everything and everyone I held dear. Luckily those days are behind me and when you hit rock bottom, the only way is up.

I can't believe that Marc Cuban gave such terrible advice. Vanity Fair really cut it down to how THEY wanted it to be, not to the real advice he gave.
No comments what the heck
how do you know?
You don't understand this because you have a poor mindset.
This actually IS the best advice.
I've studied wealthy people for over a decade.
It's all about being frugal and investing what's left over a long period of time.
Regardless of your income.
@@igo0di sure, that’s why I have financial freedom at age 30, because of my poor mindset 🤔
@@marekvbeek My friend. Mike Tyson had $400M in the bank and 10 years later ended up with $20M of debt.
Getting rich doesn't have to do with how much you make, but rather what you do with your money over a longer period of time.
Achieving financial independence at a young age like yourself is possible if somehow you manage to make a lot of money.
However this isn't the case for most people. Therefore his advice is actually the best advice.
Notice how Mark says that you should also focus on working hard, and doing everything you can to find new ideas for improvement.
Now I have no idea why you think his advice was 'terrible'. Perhaps you could elaborate on that.
Marks right about everything except credit cards. Use credit cards, just make sure you can pay them off. Treating credit cards as essentially your debit card will build up your credit score which you will absolutely need later down the line when you are trying to buy anything big.
true, but he's giving this advice to everyone, so he's probably accounting for most people having no self restraint
Credit score works only for people in US. So he(Mark) is right
@@ahmediqbal9869 True. I have a lot of self restraint and use my credit cards. I always paid it off every month and I remember looking at my credit score when looking for an apartment... my jaw dropped at how high it was. Gives me more flexibility when looking for more expensive things like housing and such.
....you only need credit to get more credit. (I.e. loans, mortgage etc).
The whole idea of not having a credit card is just to not have any debt in general. Don't buy a car you can't afford, don't buy a house you can't afford, etc
Most people don’t actually NEED a credit card and credit card debt is one of the biggest crippling drains on most peoples lives.
You don’t need a credit card to get a loan because credit score isn’t actually relevant, not even with a mortgage….

What he said about reading books is underrated advice. Average income in the us is about 50k a year. If you invested 10% of it in bitcoin every year starting the day this came out you would have 194k at its current valuation of 57,156 us dollars. Thats 's crazy considering you invested a little over 20k.
yeah or you could have 0. Its glorified gambling for most people because they don't really understand it.
@@moorefield Exactly, meme stocks are just like you said, glorified gambling.
You’d have to know that Bitcoin was going to catch on like it has. Having said that, if you’d started investing $5k a year since the financial crisis in 2009. You’d have $140k by now, and just about any financial advisor could have given you that advice.

I think the number one is a bit moot. Living with roommates in rundown houses did not help my mental health, productivity, and happiness that much. That is why I leased a single-bedroom apartment a few months after getting my first real job. I spent more but the return on investment was a better life that helped my career progression (and income) as result. I agree that living above your means and buying things on an impulse is a bad idea though.
i agree!
I agree! Whats the point of accumulating money if you cant improve your lifestyle.
If theres anyone who I should listen to about getting rich it's for sure Mark Cuban
This was actually good advice. Success is simple really. Its only how you react to the obstacles in your life, and are you willing to make the sacrifices required to upgrade? Will you stay determined, etc.
One of the things I appreciate about Mark Cuban is that he openly gives million dollar advice for free. This is information people pay huge seminar fees to learn.
This aged extremely well, especially with the US printing money like crazy.
And because bitcoin just blowed up and is hovering around $60000 right now.

Every bitcoin investor right now is just smiling at the price of bitcoin as it held strong and indeed valuable enough to generating good ROI. More persons are gonna become millionaires and we have bitcoin thanks for that..
What's really the idea behind this bitcoin investment anyway, cause all I do is to buy when it falls and sell when it goes high

Relating bitcoin investment to forex trading definitely means there are risk involved and just how do you appropriate risk measures
Many people talk about investment but do they know investing rightly is the only way to succed in life. Investments are the best life long decision anyone can make.
Well with the current market I will advise everyone to go into forex trading.
I think most people are confused on what to invest in that can yield them a better income in the future and not everyone knows how profitable investing in forex can be I was once like that before I gave it a try and I can proudly say I am on the right side

(Commercial property is better) 4) Cross reference lease listings of similar properties to discover the rental income 5) If the property has existing tenants and a remaining lease contract, then you can use the income of that prospective property to ADD on to your mortgage credit
6) Buy the property that has the highest rent/price ratio || Good deals don't last, so act fast.
7) Hire a property manager to deal with that property
8) Done! Collect rent every month, and watch the property soar up in value
How to maximize initial rent:
It is difficult to raise rents later on, especially if it is a residential property. Post your lease advertisement at your predicted price. Observe and document the results.
If there are many quick responders to your ad --> your is too low
If there are zero responders to your ad --> your rent is too high
It is better to take your time to discover the max rent than to rush into a low rent arrangement.
The rent/price ratio is a good indicator of property appreciation. If the rent is increasing, then there must be new opportunities in town that is driving up the demand. The price will soon follow. However, beware of towns ridden by crime. Crime ridden towns tend to have high rent/price ratios, but after factoring the risk of rent default, the properties in them are very poor investments.
Great advice Mark!
There is the saying that money has wings so it's best you save it properly, invest it wisely and save it judiciously. For me investing it wisely is the only profitable option of the three.
It's one thing to invest and another to invest rightly. Yes it's TRUE that many do not have the required knowledge to change that fact but one change you can implement at the moment is to choose to start investing rightly.
I don't know if you're like some of us who wish they started investing early in life? Well I certainly do wish I started earlier. I didn't start investing until my early 30's and while I'm glad to be where I am now, there are so many things i wish the younger me had known
Ask anybody who has made it in the markets they'll tell you the same thing, the earlier you start investing the better off you'll be.
But before eyou make any investment decision I'll like you to assess your financial situation especially if you've never made a financial plan before because the first step to successful investing is personal assessment which involves figuring out your goals and risk tolerance.
Moreover let no one deceive you all investments involve some degree of risks the reward for taking on this risk is the potential for a greater investment return. If you have a financial goal with a long time horizon you are bound to make more money.
That last one is the best one.

LIKE SPOT THE DIFFERENCE ONE 4 WE STILL ACTIVE WE STILL SEARCHING
Yeah I see it
Weird..
Some solid advice. I just don’t agree with not having a credit card early on. You should pay for small expenses like gas with a credit card and pay it off in full every month (don’t pay interest). That way, you can start building your credit score as early as possible. Now, if you aren’t responsible enough to pay it off in full each month, then yes I would agree, just go with a debit card all the time lol
When u See a sale, buy it, that's instant return on your money. Absolutely amazing and genius. That's it, I'm doing a sales and price checks there and then and whatever the difference is, I'm slapping it into my savings instantly.
@@iiwi758 bloody genius and I never ever noticed what a massive difference it could make untill this man said it.

most billionaires are super out of touch about simple ways to be smart with money. i respect it. these are savvy ways to spend smarter. simple as that
The fact that he says don’t use credit cards makes me question everything else he says.
U questioning the billionaire?

@@igorph.mordan5684 Well don’t spend more than you can afford it’s quite simple. Always pay in full on time every month. Don’t use a high percentage.
Some people really shouldn't use credit cards because they're impulsive buyers, that's what he means
99 percent of the viewers probably didn’t take any of his advice
Sorta #8.
