I just returned yesterday from a full week in El Salvador learning about Bitcoin beach and the many changes going on there. It’s great to see Guatemala adopting BC from the grass roots, and hopefully on up.
Bitcoin Beach is the shining beacon that has inspired communities like Panajachel to carry the flame. So excited to see more and more of these communities pop up all around the world!

Yes! I think they have fairly close relations in general for trade. A lot of people we spoke to in Guatemala also knew and were fond of Bukele!

Fabulous video! You've really captured the warmth of Guatemala and the community leaders like Eliazar. I just left Pana 3 days ago and was fortunate enough to meet up with Eliazar and Rudy as they installed the first BTM in the town for Lago Bitcoin. Also visited Kaboom mining. They are an inspiration to us all and yes I whole heartedly agree, visit Guatemala, support groups like Lago Bitcoin and feel the Mayan spirit and culture fill your heart.

It is sad that US embassy has Guatemala as dangerous country I know every country has their dangerous zones it ia underrated country Me and my wife have been there many times and we have had amazing time with people and food Im glad Mayan people have and opportunities to grown because the corruption of their government stopped them from prosperity but now have the opportunity with Bitcoins

Yes exactly! The say "never get emotionally attached" to your investments, but Bitcoin is much more than an investment to me at this point... it's a solution on the base layer to so many problems in our society based on unsound monetary principles. Some people run converted diesel cars on used vegetable oils. One guys said his car smells like a fish and chip shop....
Wowzer! The only thing I have heard is vegetable oil doesn't run as clean long term - need to clean the engine out once a year or some residues can build up. And with used cooking oil probably a bit faster. It's still so cool though!
I really hope my life is changed by BTC like these guys one day.
It will change all of our lives eventually :)
We the people of BTC must find a way to pay people to maintain traditional life. In the event of some crazy catastrophe, we will have a source of knowledge to draw on. I believe this is one of the purposes of BTC.

My wife and son are both Guatemalan and I have two businesses in Guatemala and go to Lake atitlan serval times a year. Nobody in Guatemala calls in “Bitcoin Lake” lol. First time ever hearing it here
