Rich man never wanted to help end poverty, there's no intelligent reason to expect that would happen. The process of getting rich necessarily involves the exploitation of people, and sociopathic decision making, and you get personally rewarded the more money you have, and you become punished if you give away/lose money (since your ability to do whatever you want and/or look after yourself diminishes), so money intrinsically makes you a selfish SOB and the more you have the more that's a sign of how sociopathic someone is , so it will NEVER be a force that can lead to helping end poverty, only make it worse.

everyone with any foresight is trying to get out of the US. Those that have set up in Roatan want less US intervention not more. My guess is that there will be an influx of money to get more right leaning leaders that can understand how US expat money inflows can benefit all of Honduras and get them elected to set up laws that will favor such inflows. I also think that Honduras needs to go hard on expanding it's relationship with Mexico given it's proximity. Mexico is now the US' #1 global trading partner. With all of the current re-shoring out of China equating to huge gains for Mexico, Honduras can benefit from overflow and the creation of parasitic support businesses. If played correctly, the future COULD be wildly bright for Honduras. Not just Roatan.

Not to mention the many crypto scammers out there who have stolen bitcoin since shockingly many of the people interested in crypto aren't entirely on the up-and-up. Also strange to me that they uncritically accepted the cryptobro narrative that crypto = freedom. Crypto can be manipulated easier than most currency since there is no central bank and limited regulation (and you're an idiot if you don't think regulation is coming on crypto). Its value fluctuates wildly even in coins that aren't actual ponzi schemes, which means it's more suitable for an investment than in regular financial transactions, which hinders further adoption. And it lacks the protection of conventional bank accounts. It's just riskier and more complicated in nearly every aspect, so most people will not use it until it becomes safer. Crypto as it is will only going to function as a currency if it's more stable/less inflated than fiat (which is why you see it pop up in places like Venezuela) or if the purpose of using it is to evade law enforcement. Crypto may be going back up now, but they're trying to build a whole ass society on something that may just never pan out. It's a beautiful island, but it's telling to me that crypto enthusiasts tend to focus on private islands to make their crypto paradises rather than actually trying for mainstream adoption, which would get more eyes on their business.

With the bull run edging closer, I'm favoured $130k every 4 weeks! I now have a good house and can afford anything and also support my family😊

Exclusion creates opportunity. This is the same the world over. No one want to live in crime-ridden garbage cans. El Salvador is doing something similar. When crime vanishes, opportunity flourishes.

Corruption could ruin this experiment but the idea that rich people are going to make things worse is ridiculous. Socialists want to split all the money even when there is none. Billionaires bring in opportunity. Don't be jealous, take advantage.

Hears: new city that is creating its own way of doing things...
Thinks: oh cool, finally people who are setting things right and building something new...
But no. Just the name being Prospera shows that their focus is still "whoever owns the bakery gets the biggest piece of pie"... Too bad.
Also the architecture is terribly disappointing. 😢
