Violin Concerto in D minor op. 47
I Allegro moderato
II Adagio di molto
III Allegro ma non troppo
Jascha Heifetz, violino
Thomas Beecham, direttore
London Philharmonic Orchestra
London, 1935
This was the first recording that really brought the world's attention to this fascinating concerto. Heifetz in his prime! Wau this is so good
The Master maybe at his best, because his playing here seems vulnerable to Sibelius' story, AND to the violin per se.
Ah my friends, isn't it great to hear string instrument played without that gasping moan on almost EVERY bow that post 1970 younger players got brainwashed into!! (I'm not referring to gorgeous portamenti, as all of Haifetz generation used, except Menuhin and Stern maybe not so boldly.)
This is my favorite violin concerto, plus Heifetz's masterful performance, really marvellous 🥺
A "straight shooter" approach to this grand concerto. Quality pieces of music find many avenues for expression.
This is Sibelius with Heifetz, possible the way the composer wanted it to be played. Fantastic played by Heifetz!!!!
Un desastre total ese tercer movimiento. No sean ridiculos de gratis
Thanks for the fascinating pictures!
Nice.
as usual Heifetz a bit too fast - impeccable cadenzas though!!
For me not the best about this concerto...
This piece is too intense for too long.
I agree. I suffer from adhd too.
@@Johannes_Brahms65 perfectamundo.
