      I have a friend that was in ordinance disposal in the army who is nearly a quadriplegic after a accident while disabling a IED and he's got a custom 4wd Ford van that's supercharged and lifted. I cant remember how many times I've had to tow him out of crazy spots. But I love doing it for him and knowing I'll be there has really helped him get his balls back so to speak, because before tow companies tried to rape him. Granted most went by the book on pricing for off road recovery. But even then it gets expensive and put a damper on his off roading. But knowing he doesn't have to worry has helped him really push his limits and I love doing it.

    For the owner of the car, in europe this car was sold as the Suzuki Vitara and there where 2 diesel variants available called the 1.9td and the 2.0d. Both where peugeot engines, the 1.9td was an older yet reliable and pretty torque-y engine with a bosch VE pump, loads of room to up the power and torque. The 2.0D is an electronicly controlled peugeot commonrail diesel unit that stock has about 110hp and loads of torque, wich can be flashtuned to about 145hp and 300nm of torque. Both can be coupled to the suzuki automatic gearbox. Just in case that 1.6L turns out to be underpowered and too revvy for offroading 😊

    • @s19149
      @s19149 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the LWB vitara's also had a 2.0td mazda diesel engine up until about 2001. A reliable lump but not as easy tune as the peugeot ones.

    • @guytdi321
      @guytdi321 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@s19149 Unless i am very mistaken, this is the peugeot commonrail unit i refer to, the 2.0L HDI engine. Mazda, just like ford, citroen, and many other brands relied heavily on the use of this engine. If im correct, the last mazda designed diesel of that era was the Comprex diesel.

    • @s19149
      @s19149 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The peugeot 2.0 hdi diesel came in the later year second gen vitaras the first of these 2nd gen models still had an old school (rf) mazda turbo diesel engine as did the lwb first gen vitaras. The smaller swb 3dr ones could be got with the peugeot 1.9dturbo (xudt) engine these would be very rare where I'm from but I've seen one before.

    That’s a SPA TURBO FMU, I absolutely love those for the old school setups. I recently ran the same style on my twin turbo sbc with tbi.

      Monkey Wrenching how does that setup run? Stock tbi unit?

      @MonkeyWrenching 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Travis Gustin - yup, stock tbi. I did mod it a lil bit. I have quite a few vids documenting what I did. It’s getting a bit more love here soon, I put it down to work on the V6 Forester swap for a bit.

    I love it! I had one my uncle was going to scrap because the ignition cylinder locked up so drilled that out and used a screw driver because no one would steal it anyway. These are like the car version of a moped everyone hates on them but theyre possible the most fun you can have with a car because you find yourself saying I can jump that, what do you mean I cant drive on the sidewalk?

    Suck a sick ride!! I'd love to build one of these with a awap! All this needs is a straight pipe 2 inch exhaust and intercooler set up!

    Check the valve timing. Those engines are adjustable and have very small clearances. If it's off by only a little bit that's a lot of HP to loose for the Singer engine :D

    There is supposed to be a idle up solenoid for Ac and power steering when there engaged.

    So how can you lock the timing on a 2001 Swift g13b auto with wasted spark ign? I have everything to turbo it but when bracket racing it hits 26* advance so I have been hesitant.
