I am so happy y’all went in the back alley of café du monde. It’s wild to watch them throwing the beignets in that giant fryer. Over 4 generations of my family has eaten there ❤️
Café Du Monde post covid doesn't appear quite as popular as it once was. That was back when lines would back up almost a full block from the entrance. One trick we learned back then was locating the other French Quarter Café Du Monde just inside the Riverwalk Mall. Same great beignets & cafe au lait, etc, but minus the massive crowds.
One thing I've always liked about Brennan's is they are one of the few remaining restaurants in N.O. that actually use real turtle meat in their turtle soup. So many other places have long substituted some other meat like veal. Not Brennan's. They remain authentic.
Love the embroidered robes and pillows at a time when most hotels are afraid to put their name on anything, let alone embroider it! One misplaced sneeze with those beignets and you're reenacting scenes from _Cocaine Bear!_ The eggs Benedict looked delicious and a great wine reduction can add so much good richness to any dish! Love the Bucee's Court Jester shirt too!🤣
You both are the absolute best! This is amazing -- you are traveling every week it seems. It was so fun seeing New Orleans through your eyes! Super interesting and everything looks delicious!! Have fun and safe travels to you!
Just spent a magical Halloween in New Orleans. We dined at Galitoire’s, Lil Dizzy’s, Dat Dog, Dooky Chase, Muriel’s, Parkway & Commander’s Palace. All unforgettable meals. Highly recommend checking out The Windsor Court Hotel. It’s our favorite place to stay.
Thanks so much for this! We are staying at the Monteleone for a week for our first trip to New Orleans at the end of December. So excited to be there for New Years Eve!
I stayed there for a state meeting. My daughter came down and we had a special drink at the rotating bar. It holds some good memories. We loved eating at the Acme seafood place right down the street.
New Orleans is a fun place. Been quite some time since we’ve been there. My hubby is from Northern Louisiana and it’s such a nice change of pace from So Cal. I believe the brand of coffee a lot of people and restaurants use is the Community brand. The coffee beans are roasted with chicory.
So happy to see you back in New Orleans. It’s everything you said it is. I don’t think there’s any bad food anywhere. Looking forward to your next vlog.
That hollandaise sauce looked INcredible - the way it was beautifully dappled over the poached eggs, and the lightness in color as well as fluffiness was a sight to behold. Was it as wonderful tasting as it looked ? CHEERS !
This is the first video of yours for me to watch. Loved it, y'all seem super sweet. We live in Louisiana and I would recommend Elizabeth's Restaurant in the Bywater district next time you're in NOLA. Thank you and take care~~~ Smiles, Dusty
Bill and Lisa. I love watching your videos. I think you are such sweet people. You all’s videos make me feeling like I’m right there with you. Have a beautiful holiday season
Thanks for the memories 😂We spent a couple of nights there during Mardi Gras and I just remember the plastic on the carpet. It is a beautiful hotel. 😂😂😂
I could literally watch your vlogs everyday! You entertain, you explain and you always have a positive attitude!! I've never been to NOLA, but it looks like a lot of fun and delicious :-) Thanks as always for the great content!
NOLA is a place that is cherished for good reasons. The food is to die for, and the culture is so steeped in culinary influences. Posh hotel, as well. Well done! Pool is gorgeous, as well. After going to bed after 1 AM on your first night, what time did you get up the following morning? You guys seems to live on not much sleep.
Yayyy! New Orleans! I’m so happy you made it back there!🎉 It’s certainly on my bucket list! Loved the food so far…can’t wait for the next video! Laissez le bon temps rouler!
Nice video, watching from Philippines! We'll be in NOLA by the 3rd week and I am making notes on what food and where to eat based on your recommendations. You have a new sub here! Keep it up!
It’s so fun seeing you enjoy Cafe du Monde! We love their coffee but it’s almost impossible to find the decaf version at the grocery store so I order it directly from them. They are always so nice!
The Hotel Monteleone has been on my list to try for years. Our last couple of stays have been at Le Pavillion. I think you two would enjoy that hotel as well, they serve nightly PB&J for the hotel quests. Cant wait to see what else you did while in Nola!
Hi Bill and Lisa, New Orleans looks so nice, I love the history of cafe du mondo and I could watch the, make beignets all day, those look delicious. Love the hotel you both were staying and the food at that restaurant was top notch
I understand you've done previous reviews of New Orleans, but this is the first one I've seen. Nawlins is our adopted home town. It's truly one of our very favorite cities to visit, if not outright favorite. We generally stay at the Four Points Sheraton, mainly because it's literally smack dab in the heart of the French Quarter.
Love that hotel and the carousel bar! We need to make a trip back, also. Looking for a fun breakfast spot? Try the Ruby Slipper. Well worth the wait! Have fun!🥰
Glad to see you guys made it to Brennan's - we really liked it. We did not like Cafe Du Monde our first time, but it was during COVID and they were doing some weird serving in bags and it was not a good move for the product - on our second trip it was much better, glad to see it was better this time around for you guys as well...Now I want some NOLA
Another great fancy pants video!!! 🤣 the beignets looked really good!!! Have to try those one day. Being away for 9 months made everything taste better😛😋 Nice looking hotel too!!! Glad you had a good time!!!! Cant wait to see whats next!!!!!!
Loved the vlog.. Cafe Du Monde beignets are awesome!! There is a Cafe in the back of Musical legends park on Bourbon Street that has good beignets too..
Have you ever been to Morning Call in City Park for beignets? They're a little lighter, borderline sopapilla but I think I like it a hair more than Cafe du Monde. I say that as a former loyalist. Also the iced cafe Au lait Morning Call is the perfect coffee.
Love New Orleans! Never been there but want to go. Had a reservation for dinner at Brennan's the night before my cruise in 2005 but ended up cancelling due to some hurricane called Katrina. We ended up going out via Galveston. Will make it there some day as I too want to try the Bananas Foster where it was created. First tried it in Las Vegas at the buffet at Caesars back in the 1990s. The buffet was where Bobby Flay's Amalfi is located, years before Bacchanal. Didn't know Brennan's served breakfast too. Looks so good. I pronounce pralines "pray leens" but "prah leens" sounds fancier, or fancy pants to go with the video.😂 Can't wait to see part 2 and that purple drink! It's not a Bill and Lisa video of New Orleans without it.
You’re going to love New Orleans, Yvonne! Especially all the food. 😋. Didn’t know about the original Caesars buffet, bet the prices were a lot cheaper than the current buffet cost.
10:51 I like to pause on menus and when I see something interesting, I have to check it out. The Tender Green Salad listed Leidenheimer Crisps as a component. Found that Leidenheimer is a long-established bakery in the city and presenting it in that way makes it sound much better than just saying 'croutons'. Wonder if that loaf of bread on your table came from that bakery. Luv your videos.
Looks like you decided to stay closer to home this time. Hopefully by conserving your energy with this short jaunt you can book the next 2 day trip to Auckland or Tasmania 🙂
The roots of chickory are used in the coffee,I grew up in England in the 1950’s and that was what we drank as coffee,I think perhaps coffee, was to expensive for my mom to buy,I remember it was Camp Coffee.
Wow all the food in this video looked absolutely beyond delicious! Just a little question you’re always highlighting the toiletries in all the hotels do you actually use them lol? Thank you for sharing and I’m looking forward to the next video.
she's so cute. love this couple
Jet-setting couple!
So many great places in one video!
Thanks Jeffrey! Part 2 dropping this Sunday!
I stayed at Hotel Monteleone with my daughters about 6 months ago. We absolutely loved it!!
Loved our stay there too.
I am so happy y’all went in the back alley of café du monde. It’s wild to watch them throwing the beignets in that giant fryer. Over 4 generations of my family has eaten there ❤️

I pronounce it “pray-lean”. Great video as usual guys!
The people in the background of Brennans are hysterical 😂 So happy you are back in NOLA, fantastic video as usual ❤
One thing I've always liked about Brennan's is they are one of the few remaining restaurants in N.O. that actually use real turtle meat in their turtle soup. So many other places have long substituted some other meat like veal. Not Brennan's. They remain authentic.
Turtle Soup???? I guess that we're not as refined. 😊
🙂😃😀😄😁😎👋🤞✌️👌🤙👍☝️👏🙏
@@michaelm.1807 You should try it, you'd be surprised how tasty it is.

I stayed there for a state meeting. My daughter came down and we had a special drink at the rotating bar. It holds some good memories. We loved eating at the Acme seafood place right down the street.
It's a fun bar for sure. We missed having drink here this trip, next time!

Food starts at 5:59 lovely people! 😃
Ohhhhh New Orleans!!! Soooo fun!!! Awesome video guys! 😊😊😊
Thank you, Robin!
OMG...the train horn......LMAO
I stayed at Hotel Monteleone many moons ago. Very enjoyable
Very classic hotel, we'd stay here again.
SoCal’s weather is terrible . Here come beignets.
You got lucky, the last couple of times we were there, the beignets were raw dough inside and inedible.
That was kind of our last experience. Thankfully, these were fried perfectly.
Great video 👍...safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗❤
Thank you! 🤗
Im glad im not the only one who uses the term fancy pants ❤love you two👍
