  • How to fix scratched eyeglasses at home?
There are scratches on the glasses, here are 8 simple steps to make a tool:
    1. Prepare a mini impact drill.
    2. Use a thin wire to tie the power switch and adjust the speed to moderate.
    3. Fix it on a table with tape to keep its position stable.
    4. Prepare a bottle of water with a hole in the middle for water intake.
    5. Make a coarse grinding pad, bind it with double-sided tape at the top of the screw rod, and then stick it in place.
    6. Wet the entire pad with water prepared earlier.
    7. Turn on the power and bring the scratched glass close to the pad, grind out scratches repeatedly until they disappear.
    8. Make a polishing grinding pad and polish it several times until shiny.
Apart from using homemade tools, there are other methods to remove scratches from glasses as follows:
    1. Clean the glasses: Use a mild soap and warm water to clean the glasses. Dry them with a clean, lint-free cloth.
    2. Apply toothpaste: Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the scratched area of the glasses. Rub the toothpaste into the scratch with a cotton swab or a soft cloth in a circular motion for about 10 seconds.
    3. Rinse the glasses: Rinse the glasses with warm water to remove the toothpaste.
    4. Dry the glasses: Dry the glasses with a clean, lint-free cloth.
    5. Repeat if necessary: If the scratch is still visible, repeat the process until the scratch is no longer visible.
Note: This method may not work for deep scratches or scratches on the lenses with special coatings. It is always best to consult with a professional for more serious damage to your glasses.

How can I prevent scratches on my eyeglass lenses?
When using individually wrapped, pre-moistened disposable lens cleaning wipes, first check for dust or debris on the lenses. Avoid scratches.
Therefore, toothpaste and baking soda are too coarse to fix scratched lenses. Avoid using rough cloths to wipe, which can easily scratch the lenses. Let's make our own homemade polishing tools together with this video, simple and effective.

Very nice rigging up your own polisher jig! MacGyver would be impressed.
    ...I also enjoyed the tune.
...I have a Dremel with some accessories. Going to try something similar to get some scratches/haziness out of my backup set of eyeglasses. Accidentally scratched them up wearing protective goggles over them.

@@AlexZander688 Rough-sanding pads for polishing eyeglasses usually use a material coated with a loose, granular abrasive.
